Kpop Demon Hunters Enroute to Sink Dwayne Johnson’s Netflix Record 4 Years Later
Image
Kpop Demon Hunters has nabbed the title for the second most-watched title in Netflix’s catalog, and it doesn’t seem the next big animation title from Netflix and Sony has any intentions to slow down. Continuing in the footsteps of Sony’s generation animation run, including the Spider-Verse entries and The Mitchells vs. the Machines, the movie has been both a commercial and critical juggernaut.

Currently, it holds a 97% Rt score and has amassed 184.6 million views (via Deadline), steadily approaching Netflix’s biggest hit to date, the Dwayne Johnson-led Red Notice, starring Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds.

Kpop Demon Hunters Is on Track to Dethrone Dwayne Johnson’s Red Notice

It’s essential to note that Red Notice premiered at the height of the trio’s global fame, before their public perception took a significant hit. Although the movie was pretty subpar and offered nothing to differentiate from...

KPop Demon Hunters: Netflix's 2nd Most-Watched Movie with 97% Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
Netflix's new smash hit with a 97% Rotten Tomatoes score has become the streaming service's second most-watched movie in history. Since 2021, Netflix's most-watched movie of all time has been Red Notice, sitting at 230.9 million views. However, the star-studded action-comedy featuring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot could be unseated by Netflix's new smash hit very soon.

Some of Netflix's most-watched movies of all time also include Carry-On (2024), an action thriller starring Taron Egerton, and Don't Look Up (2021), Adam McKay's star-studded political satire featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Timothée Chalamet, Meryl Streep, and many more. Another Ryan Reynolds vehicle, The Adam Project (2022), also ranks within the top five.

Sandra Bullock's post-apocalyptic thriller Bird Box (2018) still holds a place in the top 10, alongside newer sensations like Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz's action-comedy Back in Action (2025) and Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmai's star-studded apocalyptic thriller Leave the World Behind (2023), featuring Julia Roberts,...

Rumor: DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn Branded "Annoying" On WB Lot Due To Social Media Activity
Image
James Gunn has become one of the most prolific filmmakers in the comic book movie space, taking charge of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy (along with a Holiday Special), The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, Creature Commandos, and this summer's Superman.

At the start of 2023, Gunn was announced as DC Studios co-ceo alongside veteran film producer Peter Safran. Now, he's balancing being a writer/director with the role of studio head...and social media personality.

Gunn spends a lot of time on platforms like Bluesky and Threads, often answering fan questions in a way few filmmakers (and certainly no studio bosses) typically do. However, Gunn's habit of debunking rumours and staying silent on other issues has made him a divisive figure among some, particularly those who break "scoops" or share rumours.

It was recently reported by Jeff Sneider that Robin will likely appear in The Batman Part II. Gunn hit back at the "nonsense" claims,...

DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn Doesn't Know Whether Wonder Woman And The Flash Are Active In The Dcu
Image
DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran may have announced a slate of Dcu projects at the start of 2023, but it's become apparent that they did so without a firm plan in place.

In fairness, that's not too different from Marvel Studios and the MCU, as Iron Man arrived in 2008 with only the vaguest hope of eventually releasing The Avengers (which followed four years later). Still, nearly three years after "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters" was unveiled, Gunn still doesn't appear sure about which characters are active in the Dcu.

Addressing what is and isn't canon from Peacemaker season 1, Gunn was asked whether Wonder Woman and The Flash (presumably not the Gal Gadot and Ezra Miller versions) are currently part of this shared world.

"Yeah, are they canon? I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see," the Superman director stated. "I mean, they’ll exist eventually.

James Gunn Clarifies Wonder Woman & The Flash's Dcu Canon Status
Image
The DC Universe has just received a major update related to where The Flash and Wonder Woman fall in its canon. Gal Gadot gave life to Diana Prince in the old Dceu movie timeline, with Ezra Miller playing Barry Allen. Reportedly, both actors will not return for the new Dcu, with Wonder Woman and The Flash recast for the franchise.

At the moment, there is no set project among DC's upcoming movies for The Flash to appear in, even though fans continue to ask for Arrowverse The Flash star Grant Gustin to play the Dcu's Flash. However, the situation recently shifted for Wonder Woman, who now has a movie being written by Supergirl's Ana Nogueira, a priority for the Dcu movie slate.

On Peacemaker The Official Podcast with James Gunn, the DC Universe's creative chief, Gunn, revealed that he does not know whether Wonder Woman and The Flash were...

Box Office Analyst Predicts Supergirl Will Outgross Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Image
James Gunn’s Superman (2025) might be soaring at the box office with $570 million worldwide from a rumoured $225 million budget, but it’s not exactly lighting up DC or Warner Bros.’ record books. That hasn’t stopped box office analyst Luiz Fernando from making one of the spiciest predictions of the year: he thinks Supergirl will outgross Spider-Man: Brand New Day when they face off in the summer of 2026. If that sounds familiar, it’s because Fernando is drawing a direct line back to summer 2017. Back then, Wonder Woman and Spider-Man: Homecoming landed in cinemas five weeks apart. Gal Gadot’s Diana, fresh from her Batman v Superman cameo, debuted with $106 million and went on to gross $412.8 million in the U.S., beating out every summer release that year with $824 million at the box office. Meanwhile, Tom Holland’s Spidey swung in at $335 million domestically and $880.2 million worldwide, his best box office outing at the time.

Before Gal Gadot, This Bond Girl Nearly Became Warner Bros’ Wonder Woman

Gal Gadot Wonder Woman (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Back in 2016, when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters, one thing was clear, Gal Gadot was Wonder Woman. With just a few scenes, the Israeli actress stole the show from two of the biggest comic book titans. Clad in Amazonian armor and wielding that iconic lasso, Gadot brought strength, grace, and a dash of mystery to the big screen in a way fans hadn’t quite seen before.

Her take on Diana Prince became a defining moment not just for the Dceu but also for superhero cinema. And let’s not forget, this wasn’t her first rodeo. Fast & Furious fans had already seen her pull off high-octane stunts with effortless cool. But here’s the kicker in this little throwback tale: before Gadot suited up and took the invisible jet for a spin, the coveted role of Wonder Woman...

Young Kids Grapple With Antisemitism in New Book from Journalists Bianna Golodryga, Yonit Levi
Image
Two veteran TV journalists want to help spark a discussion about antisemitism, but not through traditional journalism.

Bianna Golodryga, a longtime presence on CNN, and Yonit Levi, the anchor of Israel’s top primetime news program on Channel 12, have written “Don’t Feed the Lion,” a novel aimed at kids 8 through 12 that tackles topics around hate and bullying. In the book, three kids in Chicago — Theo, his sister Annie, and their new friend Gabe –are forced to grapple with a soccer star who makes an antisemitic remark and a swastika that appears on a school locker.

Published by Arcadia Children’s Books, a division of Arcadia Publishing, “Don’t Feed the Lion” will go on sale November 11.

“The alarming rise in antisemitism and antisemitic incidents has shaken communities around the world. Some of the most impressionable age groups — teens and pre-teens — are trying to make sense of a world that can feel confusing,...

In theaters, things did not go nearly as well. The film, released in March 2025, made $205.6 million worldwide (Box Office Mojo), but that could not cover a massive budget reportedly between $240 and $270 million. The numbers did not surprise anyone following the film’s rocky road to release.

‘Peacemaker’ Season 2: John Cena Fights Alternate Version of Himself in Trailer, New Opening Credits Have ‘Dirty Dancing’ Lift
Image
San Diego Comic Con got a healthy dose of peace on Saturday.

Star John Cena dressed up in full costume as his DC Universe character Peacemaker for the show’s Hall H panel. He was joined by showrunner and DC Studios co-president James Gunn and co-stars Frank Grillo, Jennifer Holland, Frank Grillo, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, Sol Rodriguez and Tim Meadows.

The panel kicked off by showing the new Season 2 trailer, which reveals that Cena’s Peacemaker travels through a portal to an alternate dimension where “the grass is greener.” Down on his luck and rejected by Holland’s Emilia Harcourt, Peacemaker runs away to a new universe, which causes inter-dimensional problems. Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr., head of the mysterious DC Universe company A.R.G.U.S., also searches for Peacemaker, who killed his son Rick Flag Jr. (played by Joel Kinnaman in “The Suicide Squad”).

Crowdfunded Zack Snyder’s Justice League Campaign Reaches $400,000 In 3 Days
Image
Zack Snyder fans are proving, once again, that they aren’t ready to move on. While James Gunn’s Superman (2025) is flying high with $472.4 million at the box office, Snyder loyalists are dropping serious cash on a new McFarlane Toys crowdfunding campaign. In just three days, the campaign hit $400,000. For something that’s supposedly “dead,” the Snyderverse, especially Zack Snyder’s Justice League, still has a pulse. The campaign, McFarlane Toys’ fourth for its Club Drawing Board, is a love letter to Snyder’s Batman v Superman and Justice League. The centerpiece is a 20-inch Batmobile straight from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But it doesn’t stop there. With tiered support levels, backers can upgrade the car into the Justice League version, add Ben Affleck’s Batman, a light-up Batsignal, and “Justice Is Gray” seven-inch figures of Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and Henry Cavill’s Superman.

Image
Superman has been reminding moviegoers of DC’s greatness in theaters. The film is closing in on the $500 million mark at the box office and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Even when you leave the theater, you’ll most likely see a ton of Superman merchandise on store shelves, including action figures from McFarlane Toys. Now, despite Zack Snyder's DCEUbeing a relic of the past, McFarlane could be making more figures for the director’s infamous DC trilogy.

McFarlane Toys Store has just unveiled their fourth crowdfunding campaign for their Club Drawing Board. The concept figures include a 20-inch-long Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, parts for the Justice League version of the famous car, Ben Affleck's Batman and the Batsignal, and the “Justice Is Gray” black-and-white seven-inch-scale DC Multiverse figures for Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and Henry Cavill's Superman.

San Diego Comic-Con: How Hollywood Decides Whether To Dress Up Or Skip
Image
Whenever Marvel Studios doesn’t show up at San Diego Comic-Con, it’s like pulling the brain out of the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz.

Or, to put it in fanboy speak, it’s like pulling the brain out of Twiki the robot from NBC’s 1980s series Buck Rogers.

Twiki the Robot

For the most part, whenever a big Hollywood studio or two sit out — or when a buzzy project like 20th Century Studios’ Avatar: Fire & Ash, Lucasfilm’s Mandalorian & Grogu, Amazon MGM Studios’ mega-big Masters of the Universe or Netflix’s massively popular series Wednesday doesn’t show at the 135,000-attended confab — the media gets cynical. Does San Diego Comic Con still have any relevance for Hollywood?

The answer to that is studios, streamers and networks are extremely aware of the Hall H megaphone and the power it wields in an instantaneous social media environment. But,...

Why Pedro Pascal Never Wants to Be Clean Shaven for a Role Again Unless It’s “Completely Necessary”
Image
Pedro Pascal prefers to have facial hair for his acting roles, and he has a reason.

The actor recently appeared on LADbible‘s “Agree To Disagree” video series with his The Fantastic Four: First Steps co-star Vanessa Kirby, where they were asked to debate at one point whether mustaches are sexier than beards.

That’s when The Last of Us star opened up about his preferences for facial hair when appearing onscreen after seeing himself clean-shaven as the villainous Maxwell Lord in 2020’s Wonder Woman 1984, starring Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot.

“I grow such shit facial hair, but if I were to shave it all off… I really look very [awful]. Strongly disagree with a clean shaven me,” Pascal said. “In Wonder Woman 1984, I was so appalled by the way I look. I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I never...

Pedro Pascal Was “So Appalled” by One of His Biggest Roles — And It Had Nothing to Do With the Script
Image
Pedro Pascal has opened up about his experience working on DC's Wonder Woman 1984. The Fantastic Four actor revealed one key part of his role left him feeling 'appalled'.

Appearing with his Fantastic Four co-star Vanessa Kirby on LADbible Entertainment's Agree to Disagree, Pascal talked about going clean-shaven for the role of Maxwell Lord in Patty Jenkins' panned Wonder Woman sequel. "I was so appalled by the way I look in Wonder Woman 1984," he said. "I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I never have gone back unless it were completely necessary."

Pascal went on to say how this influenced his look when it came to playing Mister Fantastic in Marvel's upcoming superhero movie. "If they asked me to be clean-shaven for Fantastic Four and insisted, then I would've done it, but it was a very collaborative creation for all...

Image
A first look has been revealed of Star Wars and Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac in the exciting upcoming historical crime thriller In the Hand of Dante (or just Hand of Dante). This new movie from director Julian Schnabel will follow a handwritten copy of Dante's "The Divine Comedy," as it passes through many ambitious hands.

Based on the book of the same name by Nick Tosches, In the Hand of Dante depicts two timelines, one focusing on Dante Alighieri himself and the other on a fictionalized Tosches when he is tasked with verifying the manuscript in the modern day. The adaptation also stars Gerard Butler, Jason Momoa, Al Pacino, Gal Gadot, and John Malkovich.

Isaac will be playing the dual role of both Dante in the past and Tosches in the present. Via X, a promotional image for the 82nd Venice International Film Festival of Oscar Isaac as Dante has been shared.

Pedro Pascal Was “Appalled” by Wonder Woman 1984, But It Can’t Beat His Worst Look in Iconic TV Show
Image
Pedro Pascal’s big breakthrough came when he starred as the goatee-having Dornish prince Oberyn Martell. He later portrayed the role of a mustache-carrying DEA agent Javier Peña in the Netflix show, Narcos.

Why are we talking about Pedro Pascal‘s facial hair, though? Because the actor decided to go completely clean-shaven for his role as Maxwell Lord in Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot‘s 2020 film, Wonder Woman 1984. The actor revealed (via Variety) he looks very awful when completely clean-shaven.

I grow such shit facial hair, but if I were to shave it all off… I really look very [awful].

Well, Pedro Pascal was saying it from experience as the actor starred as a completely-shaven Maxwell Lord, and he was “Appalled“ by the way that he looked (strongly agree).

Daily Actorle Solution for Today

Going by the basic definition of the word “routine” that dictionaries have to offer, I can now claim I have made a routine of training my brain through daily puzzles every morning. And Actorle, without a doubt, stays my favorite, and will remain as so as long as it keeps testing my Hollywood knowledge to its absolute limit.

The set of Actorle challenges on July 24 was particularly intriguing to go through. The daily puzzles site offers you four different games to play: Actorle, Fill The Grid, Storyboard, and StarWords. Pedro Pascal: ‘I Was So Appalled by the Way I Look’ in ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ That ‘I’ve Never Gone Back’ to Being Clean Shaven for an Acting Role
Image
Pedro Pascal faced off against his “Fantastic Four” co-star Vanessa Kirby during LADbible’s “Agree to Disagree” video series, in which they were asked to debate which is sexier: Mustaches or beards? Pascal has long rocked facial hair throughout his career, but there was one role that required him to go clean shaven. That would be the villainous Maxwell Lord in “Wonder Woman 1984,” Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot’s superhero sequel that released to theaters and HBO Max simultaneously on Christmas Day 2020.

“I grow such shit facial hair, but if I were to shave it all off… I really look very [awful]. DC fast-tracking this movie instead of Superman 2 (and it could be a mistake)
Image
James Gunn’s Superman was a success at the box office and with the opinion of fans. People online have talked about how happy the movie made them in various ways. Among the things said is that this felt like everything Superman represents, and that's hope.

It wasn’t just Clark Kent who left people optimistic (even though he’s the main part of the story). Lois Lane, Mr. Terrific, and Jimmy Olsen all had a never-say-quit attitude. So much so that they aren’t taking any slander about the message of the film. And, for the most part, they’ve done it peacefully.

One of the reasons this movie did well is that everyone involved took their time putting it together. For example, the casting wasn’t rushed. Gunn and his fellow DC leaders took their time with the casting process, which has ultimately led to people like David Corenswet...

‘Wonder Woman’ Reboot Finds Its Writer as DC Fast-Tracks New Movie
Image
DC Studios has chosen Ana Nogueira to write the script for its upcoming Wonder Woman reboot, Variety has confirmed. Nogueira, known for writing the new Supergirl movie, is also working on a live-action Teen Titans film for the studio.

According to Variety, Wonder Woman has become one of DC’s top priorities. On July 16, the outlet reported that DC is fast-tracking the movie. James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, told Entertainment Weekly back in June that the film “is being written right now.”

Nogueira’s career actually began in front of the camera. She acted in shows like The Michael J. Fox Show, The Vampire Diaries, and most recently, the crime drama Hightown. Her work on Supergirl will mark her first produced screenplay.

That film, directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Milly Alcock, is set to release on June 26, 2026. It’s based on the comic Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King.

Dcu’s ‘Wonder Woman’ Movie Has Found its Writer
Image
DC Studios has finally chosen a writer for its new Wonder Woman movie. According to Variety, Ana Nogueira, who wrote the upcoming Supergirl film, has been hired to work on the reboot of Wonder Woman.

This news comes not long after Variety reported that DC was rushing to get the film moving, calling it a major priority for the studio. In fact, DC Studios co-head James Gunn told Entertainment Weekly that a Wonder Woman film “is being written right now.”

Nogueira is not new to the DC world. Besides Wonder Woman, she’s also working on a live-action Teen Titans movie for DC Studios.

Her first produced screenplay will be Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which is being directed by Craig Gillespie and stars Milly Alcock. That film is set to hit theaters on June 26, 2026. Before turning to writing, Nogueira worked as an actress, appearing in shows like The Vampire Diaries and Hightown.

After Michael B. Jordan's Co-Star Quits, Andor Fan Favorite Joins New Remake of Iconic Crime Film
Image
Michael B. Jordan has a new co-star. Less than a week after Taylor Russell exited Amazon MGM Studios' The Thomas Crown Affair remake, her replacement has been found.

According to Variety, Adria Arjona has joined The Thomas Crown Affair, stepping into the co-lead role of the insurance investigator who pursues Jordan's titular billionaire art thief. Russell had been cast in the role since March 2025, but departed late last week over "creative differences." With production having already commenced, Amazon and the movie's producers, which count Jordan and Charles Roven, worked quickly to cast her replacement, with Arjona emerging victorious. She now joins an ensemble that includes Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbæk, and Aiysha Hart.

Where Have You Seen Adria Arjona Before?

The Thomas Crown Affair marks the latest high-profile role for Arjona, who broke out playing mechanic/black market dealer Bix Caleen in the Disney+ Star Wars series Andor.

DC Studios' Wonder Woman Movie Has Found A Writer With Plenty Of Superhero Experience
Image
The Wrap reveals that Ana Nogueira has been tapped by DC Studios to write its upcoming Wonder Woman movie. She's someone James Gunn and Peter Safran clearly have a lot of faith in, as this will mark the playwright's third Dcu project.

The playwright and actor first came to our notice when she was hired by Warner Bros. to write a Supergirl movie, spinning out of 2023's The Flash. Sasha Calle was dumped from the role when DC Studios was formed, but Gunn and Safran immediately hired her to pen Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

Directed by Craig Gillespie with Milly Alcock in the lead role, it's since been retitled Supergirl. Nogueira also wrote Teen Titans for DC Studios, which has yet to be officially greenlit. Now, it seems the studio wants the writer to prioritise bringing Diana Prince back to theaters.

Wonder Woman is being actively developed for the "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters" slate,...

‘Supergirl’ Scribe Ana Nogueira To Pen ‘Wonder Woman’ Reboot For DC Studios
Image
We’ve confirmed that Supergirl screenwriter Ana Nogueira is writing DC Studios’ new redo of Wonder Woman.

The writer is also reportedly set to write a live-action take of Teen Titans for the James Gunn- and Peter Safran-run Warner Bros label.

DC Studios doesn’t comment on development news.

The news comes in the wake of Gunn’s Superman coursing to $409 million-plus at the global box office through two weekends. That movie is a bright spot for comic book movies, which haven’t seen the hot streak at the box office like in the pre-Covid days.

When Gunn and Safran took the reins of the studio, they passed on making Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 3. The director, who broke the glass ceiling for a female filmmaker at the box office with Wonder Woman‘s $103.2M domestic opening (and ultimate $412.8M stateside and near $824M global take) voiced her upset to the media.
