Exclusive Red Letter Day Clip and Q&a with Writer/Director Cameron Macgowan
What if you received a letter in your mailbox ordering you to kill or risk being murdered yourself? That's the question at the core of Red Letter Day, the feature-length debut from filmmaker Cameron Macgowan, and with the movie out now in theaters from Dread and coming to Blu-ray and VOD on November 5th, we caught up with Macgowan for our latest Q&a feature, and we've also been provided with an exclusive clip to share with Daily Dead readers.

Thanks for taking the time to catch up with us, and congratulations on Red Letter Day, which features a compelling and unsettling “what if?” question at its core. When and how did you come up with the idea for this film?

Cameron Macgowan: Thank you for taking the time to speak with me! Red Letter Day was born from the anxiety caused when people in power draw lines in the...

Red Letter Day Trailer: Canadian Suburban Horror Flick Coming to U.S. Cinemas, VOD in November
More catch up for our friends at Epic and Dread are releasing Cameron Macgowan`s Canadian horror flick Red Letter Day in select cinemas on November 1st and then it lands on Blu-Ray/VOD on November 5th.   Our own Kurt Halfyard caught Red Letter Day when it played at Calgary Underground Film Festival. Here is an excerpt from his review,   Taking place entirely in broad daylight amongst the ticky tacky boxes and perfect-circle cul-de-sacs that circle our cities, most of them less than one hundred kilometers from the USA border, Red Letter Day tells us something about ourselves. While Canadians may not 'gate' their communities, and feel better about ourselves for our diversity and inclusiveness, and certainly consider themselves more or less immune to the...

Did You Get a Letter? First Trailer for Horror Comedy 'Red Letter Day'
"Might be taking these letters a little too seriously..." Epic Pictures has debuted the first official trailer for the indie horror comedy Red Letter Day, which will be available to watch this November after premiering at numerous film festivals earlier this year. A typically quiet suburban community descends into chaos and paranoia after the delivery of mysterious red letters. A recently divorced mother and her two teens receive the letters, instructing them each to kill or be killed. As the bloodshed begins, they find themselves in a race against time to protect the ones they love from the people they thought they knew. This looks quite twisted. Starring Dawn Van de Schoot, Hailey Foss, Roger LeBlanc, Tiffany Helm, Kaeleb Zain Gartner, and Peter Strand Rumpel. It's a wicked concept, that definitely brings out the worst in people. Have fun. Here's the official trailer (+ two posters) for Cameron Macgowan's Red Letter Day,...

Frightfest 2019: ‘Red Letter Day’ Review
Stars: Dawn Van de Schoot, Hailey Foss, Kaeleb Zain Gartner, Roger LeBlanc, Arielle Rombough, Michael Tan | Written and Directed by Cameron Macgowan

Adjusting to a new life in suburban Aspen Ridge, a recently divorced mother receives mysterious letters instructing her and her teenage children to slaughter the people pictured in their correspondence before they can kill them. Paranoia and chaos ensues as the family attempts to rationally deal with an irrational situation. Making matters worse, the local law enforcement, already ineffective and patronizing, are unresponsive to calls for police aid after they are quickly overwhelmed by the sheer number of community participants in the murderous mayhem.

I’m not going to lie, it’s obvious that Red Letter Day takes its influence from the Purge franchise And the current political climate not only in the Us but across the globe. To say otherwise is just folly… Though the idea of...

A Ghastly Love Story Is Told in This Short Film - Liebe
Writer and director Cameron Macgowan created this twisted short film called Liebe (Love), which he describes as a "satirical horror film that depicts a ghastly love triangle between a man, a maiden and a monster." As you might expect, the movie includes some disturbing elements, and the way the story plays out is unexpected, which was great. The short isn't for everyone, but I enjoyed it, and I think that some of you will as well. The movie has screened at over 25 film festivals around the world including Fantasia, Boston Underground Film Festival, and Toronto After Dark. Thanks to the director for sending this in to us! ...
