New Series ‘Moments’ Brings Group Therapy Topics Alive With All-Star Cast

A new series from writer/actor Malachi Rivers is in development. ‘Moments’ includes Rutina Wesley (Queen Sugar) Sufe Bradshaw (Veep), Devere Rogers (Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul), Thomas Hobson (That Girl Lay Lay) and Desean Terry (The Morning Show).

Described as a weekly group therapy session gone wrong, the series plans to tackle various issues, including domestic violence, eating disorders, abandonment issues and more, all while the group is guided by a mind-reading therapist and time-traveling partner.

“I created ‘Moments’ during the heart of the pandemic,when I had to really hone my craft and create something I not only wanted to be a part of, but also wanted to see on TV” said Rivers.

‘Moments’ is directed by Aaron Lewis, and Tawan Bazemore serves at Dp. Carlton Jordan is executive producer and the series includes psychologist Dr. Jeff Gardere.

Drunk Driver Plows into New Orleans Crowd Ahead of Mardi Gras, Injuring 28

A pickup truck driven by an intoxicated man plowed into a crowd of spectators at the Endymion Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans on Saturday, injuring at least 28 people, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Authorities said the incident occurred at 6:42 p.m. when the Chevrolet truck struck another vehicle, which pushed into a third vehicle.

“ then lost control driving over the neutral ground, striking a city dump truck and hitting multiple pedestrians,” police said.

“He took out rows of people,” witness Greg McNeely told Nola.com.

Officers on the scene quickly responded by apprehending the driver, who has not been identified.

Anna Akana Teams With Groundlings To Help Bullied Teens Cope Through Stand-Up Comedy
In June, camera brand Canon announced it was teaming up with YouTube creator Anna Akana on an anti-bullying campaign that would also serve to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Eos Rebel Camera as part of Canon's Rebel With A Cause initiative. And now, the fruits of that partnership have arrived.

Akana, who counts roughly 1.6 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, has created a video alongside The Groundlings comedy troupe and adolescent psychiatrist Dr. Jeff Sugar in which bullied teens ranging from 13 to 17 years old are taught how to use comedy as a coping mechanism and to transmute their pain into stand-up material.
