Lifetime Is Taking You to Church With First Faith-Based Film Slate (Exclusive)
Image
Lifetime: Television for (Christian) Women.

The female-focused cable channel has a new Saturday-night movies slate “centered on women facing unfathomable circumstances who use their faith to lead them through,” according to Lifetime. The four films on tap will star Chrissy Metz (This Is Us), Alexa PenaVega (Spy Kids), Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) and Paula Patton (Precious), respectively.

Faith in the Flames: The Nichole Jolly Story (July 19) is based on the true story of the devastating 2018 fire that ripped through Paradise, California; it stars Metz in the title role of hero nurse Jolly.

The following week (July 26) is PenaVega’s turn in Before Your Father Finds Us, the story of a woman who “must draw on her faith to hide her and her teen daughter from her violent ex-husband.” It’s a very Lifetime scenario.

On August 2, Graham’s adaptation of Terri Blackstock’s Christian suspense book Terri Blackstock’s If I Run premieres.

Worth Watching: Amazing Full Trailer for Netflix's 'Lost in Space' Series
"Danger, Will Robinson!" Whoa this looks amazing!! You have to watch this trailer. I'm breaking our own rules (we don't cover TV) to post this trailer for a new Netflix series, a new update on Lost in Space. And it seriously looks incredible. This thrilling trailer packs in A Lot, I mean a lot a lot of awesome footage, with some big reveals and gorgeously epic sci-fi space scenes. The space travel story for this deviates a bit from the original series, with a family on a colonizing spaceship crash landing on a planet, where they discover some kind of intelligent new life-form and all kinds of other cool things. The cast includes Max Jenkins as Will, with Mina Sundwall, Molly Parker, Toby Stephens, Parker Posey, Taylor Russell, Ignacio Serricchio, and Amelia Burstyn. It's rare we make an exception to write about TV, but this deserves it. I'm seriously impressed...
