Stephanie Beatriz continues to dominate television screens after her career-defining performance in the hit comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, with the actor now in a major role in the Peacock series Twisted Metal, an adaptation of the video game of the same name. The series recently released the first four episodes of its second season, and to promote Twisted Metal, Beatriz joined ScreenRant to discuss some AI-generated information about her character in the series, as well as the various aspects and details that went into her performance. What followed was some hilarious and sometimes comedically incorrect details that Beatriz was more than happy to debunk, helping to clarify any misconceptions ahead of the second season.
Beatriz plays Quiet in Twisted Metal, a character made for the series who isn't from the video games. When the AI-generated response pertained to her character's arc in Season 2, Beatriz was happy to elaborate on what...

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the rare sitcoms that only gets better with time. Not only was its storyline intriguing and rewarding, with amazing writing and a great cast, but the character development, diversity, and approach to sensitive themes stood the test of time.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine aired between 2013 and 2021, and wrapped up after eight seasons. The sitcom had an ensemble cast led by Andy Samberg, and also starred Stephanie Beatriz, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Chelsea Peretti, Dirk Blocker, Joel McKinnon Miller, and the late Andre Braugher. Conversations about a reunion have been going on since the series finale, and in ScreenRant's new video series Debunking AI, Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz weighed in on Terry Crews' suggested reunion idea.

2025 may be nearly half way through, but in the world of TV the year is still young. As such, even though you may feel like the best TV you'll see this year is already behind us as we've headed down to the severed floor for Severance Season 2, stared at our reflection once again in Charlie Brooker's Netflix series Black Mirror, brought out the billy clubs for Disney+ must-see show Daredevil: Born Again, and had our collective socks knocked off by Philip Barantini's Adolescence, we assure you a veritable streaming smorgasbord still lies ahead of us in the coming months.
Yes, we may have just finished collecting our jaw from the flaw after that Andor Season 2 finale, and yes, the second seasons of both The Last Of Us and Doctor Who may have left our heads spinning, but there's still no shortage of returning favourites, fresh franchise offerings, original programming,...

Brooklyn Nine-Nine features great character dynamics throughout its eight seasons, and one star recently recalled creating one of the best bonds of the show with the late Andre Braugher. Braugher played the serious but lovable Captain Holt in the NBC sitcom. He passed away in 2023, but his legacy remains with both fans of his work and his co-stars.
And Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg reflected on his time working with Braugher in an interview with People. The upbeat and lighthearted personality of Samberg's Jake Peralta created the perfect contrast to Braugher's police captain, delivering plenty of comical moments on-screen.
According to Samberg, the actors clicked instantly at their first table read, which explains a lot:
"Our dynamic worked immediately. It was like one of those things where you’re just like, ‘Okay, this is kismet.' I don’t know how to explain it."

Andy Samberg says every table read of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” reminded him how rare his connection with Andre Braugher was—an ease he now misses “a lot,” he told Amy Poehler during a new episode of her podcast “Good Hang.” Braugher, who died from lung cancer in December 2023, played stoic Captain Raymond Holt opposite Samberg’s impulsive detective Jake Peralta across the comedy’s 2013-2021 run.
Asked what worked behind the scenes, Samberg recalled their first table read: “He walked in, we said hello, and the rhythm clicked in the first scene.” He praised Braugher as “deeply moral and kind and pleasant and smart,” adding that the cast “absolutely loved him.”
The friendship deepened as Braugher—best known for hard-edged drama—experimented with comedy. Though initially unsure of his timing, he quickly mastered deadpan deliveries that became a hallmark of the series, Samberg said, remembering crew reactions when Braugher “flipped the switch” for serious moments.

Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher formed a great comedy partnership on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Braugher shockingly passed away in 2023, and now Samberg is sharing his memories of working with Braugher.
Samberg spoke about his relationship with Braugher with other comedians. He made the comments on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, via Entertainment Weekly. Poehler said of Braugher, "I never had the pleasure of meeting him, he seemed like he was just playful and fun,” to which Samberg answered, “He was, and just a good person," before going more in-depth.
Braugher played Captain Raymond Holt, a police captain who takes Samberg's Jake Peralta under his wing and forms an almost father-son-like relationship with him. It's almost time to bid farewell, but not goodbye to the Bridgeton teens. Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the eighth and final season of Nick Kroll's animated comedy Big Mouth, teasing what's to come for Nick and his friends as they navigate a whole new set of challenges as high-schoolers. After graduating from middle school back in 2023, milestones are about to hit the kids hard and fast as they not only deal with their changing bodies, but also navigate sexual inexperience, drugs, driving, porn, cancel culture, and fear of the future in a complicated environment. In the end, however, what they'll need most to survive this overwhelming time is friendship and support from each other.

To quote Nick Kroll’s Maury, “It’s the end of a very gross era.” “Big Mouth” dropped the trailer for its eighth and final season on Wednesday, and it’s just as upsetting and surprisingly sweet as this raunchy animated comedy has always been. The longest-running scripted Netflix original will premiere on May 23.

Benito Skinner is bringing the drama to Prime Video with his semi-autobiographical comedy series “Overcompensating.” Skinner, Aka Benny Drama, makes his TV debut with the star-studded series that he writes, executive produces, and acts in. The college-set show centers on former football player and homecoming king Benny (Skinner) whose journey as a closeted gay man leads to “horrible hookups, flavored vodka, and fake IDs,” as the logline teases.
The official synopsis reads: “Benny becomes fast friends with Carmen (Wally Baram), a high school outsider on a mission to fit in at all costs. With guidance from Benny’s older sister (Mary Beth Barone) and her campus-legend boyfriend (Adam Dimarco), Benny and Carmen juggle horrible hookups, flavored vodka, and fake IDs. When Steve Carell left The Office, the show never recovered. And when Chelsea Peretti left Brooklyn 99, a critical part of its cast’s dynamic was lost, which cost the show some of its edge. Usually, when a sitcom loses a character, no matter the reason, the show suffers. Sometimes, however, a departure is more akin to when a butcher trims the fat; the show is tightened up and, because time is no longer wasted on them, it’s an overall improved result, if anyone even notices at all.

If you know Adam Scott through his work in the excellent science fiction thriller series "Severance" from Apple TV+, it's understandable that you may be a little taken aback that Scott's most consistent and best turns have come in comedy. "Severance" does have some black comedy elements to its workplace satire, in which a group of people have gone through the eponymous process of severance, in which they have an "innie" who works at a strange and mysterious multinational conglomerate and an "outie" who lives a life outside of work and has no idea what their innie does during the day (and vice versa for the innies knowing nothing about their outies). But that show is largely a dark thriller in which the main characters struggle to regain their independence while being controlled by the enigmatic people who run Lumon Industries.

Connie Britton and Kyle MacLachlan appear in the show, with Charli Xcx serving as the executive music producer and guest star. The official synopsis reads: “‘Overcompensating’ is a college-set ensemble comedy about the wild, chaotic journey of Benny (Skinner), a closeted former football player and Idaho homecoming king, as he becomes fast friends with Carmen, a high school outsider on a mission to fit in at all costs. For fans of the beloved and Emmy award-winning adult animated comedy Big Mouth, the announcement that the series' eighth season would be its last was a sad moment. But it's been a long two years, and I think we can all agree that with time comes not only age, but wisdom, as our favorite Bridgeton teens well know by now. And if they don't, well, they will by the time the final season premieres this spring, as its streaming home Netflix announced alongside a bevy of guest stars that are sure to impress even the most unaffected of teens (and adults).

Netflix has announced that the eighth and final season of Big Mouth will premiere globally on the streaming service on May 23, 2025.
In the 10-episode season, our beloved Bridgeton teens tackle new challenges as high schoolers, such as driving, drugs, sexual inexperience, enthusiastic consent, porn, and the teenage mind, cancel culture, their changing bodies, and (in the end) fear of the looming future.
Through it all, friendship is the cornerstone for surviving this time of life – whether one’s puberty is just beginning, like for Nick, who gets his first growth spurt, or near its conclusion, like for a maturing (and prematurely balding) Andrew.
At the height of the season, when many of our characters are in crisis, Compassion (personified as a new creature voiced by Holly Hunter) emerges as a crucial way forward. Ultimately, though, this season is about the importance of sticking by and supporting your friends, especially when life gets overwhelming and messy.

In terms of the greatest sitcoms of the recent era, many watchers point to Brooklyn Nine-Nine as being considered one of the best. It follows the wacky and odd adventures of the police officers of the 99th precinct in Brooklyn. Audiences returned every week for eight seasons to see their favorite characters chat and joke about numerous hilarious things. A sitcom's cast is one of the most integral pieces of the puzzle in having a successful show. Without one, the audience could feel disconnected or disinterested in the characters and their lives. If an audience isn't willing to stick around for many seasons, then a show just simply won't work. So when it came to Brooklyn Nine-Nine's cast, the show got it right from the start, but it also included one extra character that was never seen again in the entire show's run.

New York's finest just got a whole lot finer... kind of. Brooklyn Nine-Nine created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur, is arguably one of the most beloved modern sitcoms. Three years after the series came to a close in 2021, fans are still devouring the show on streaming. The show is one of the most re-watched sitcoms on Netflix. There's just one problem: the final three seasons aren't available on the streamer's library. Seasons 7 and 8 still remain in streaming limbo, but fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will soon have new episodes to dive into on Netflix.
Season 5 and 6 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine are about to answer a callout on Netflix, as they will be available to stream on the platform from February 26 (according to What's On Netflix). Unfortunately, US viewers will still be waiting for news of Seasons 7 and 8's arrival on the platform. It's not all good news, though. While fans can...
