Manchester United, Leicester win, Arsenal beat Spurs
Image
London, March 15 (Ians) Craig Dawson's own goal gave Manchester United a 1-0 win at home to West Ham on Sunday evening, and although the manner of the winning goal may have been fortunate as Dawson headed into his own net, the win was deserved as United dominated and hit the West Ham woodwork twice, while the visitors failed to produce a shot on target.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored a hat-trick to help Leicester City thrash bottom side Sheffield United 5-0 to compound the Blades' misery one day after the club confirmed the departure of coach Chris Wilder, Xinhua news reports.

Ayoze Perez and an own goal completed the scoring as Leicester ran riot against a side whose morale was clearly affected by the events of recent days.

Chelsea and Leeds drew 0-0 in a surprisingly entertaining game, which means the Blues have kept 10 clean sheets in Thomas Tuchel's 12 games in charge,...

Chelsea, West Ham win as Cl race heats up
Image
London, March 9 (Ians) The battle for Champions League places heated up in the Premier League as both Chelsea and West Ham United won their respective matches.

Chelsea beat Everton 2-0 thanks to an own goal and a Jorginho penalty, thus opening up a four-point gap over a team that had been just a point behind them at the start of the game on Monday, Xinhua news agency reported.

Ben Godfrey deflected Kai Havertz's flick into his own net on the half hour mark to put Chelsea ahead and Jorginho assured the win with a penalty in the 65th minute after Everton's goalkeeper Jordan Pickford brought down Havertz inside the box.

Everton have not won in 26 league visits to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has been unbeaten in his first nine league games in charge, with six wins and three draws since replacing Frank Lampard.

Team Gb Olympic Team Revealed
After last week’s controversy surrounding his snub of David Beckham, Team Gb boss Stuart Pearce has just announced his full squad for the upcoming Olympic games, selecting only Welsh and English players and ignoring the claims of Scottish and North Irish options.

As expected, Pearce’s squad includes Ryan Giggs, Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards as the three over-age players.

Swansea City are the most represented team in the squad with three players – defender Neil Taylor, excellent midfielder Joe Allen and speedy former Chelsea forward Scott Sinclair, who will be joined in the forward-line options by Daniel Sturridge, Bellamy and Bolton’s Marvin Sordell.

Pearce announced the squad with the confirmation that he didnt take any of his selection choices lightly:

It has not been an easy task to finalise my squad for this tournament, and the stature of the competition and uniqueness of the occasion has underlined the...

Doni also returns after his suspension but Brad Jones will be hoping to pip in to a place on the bench after playing in Liverpool’s Fa Cup semi-final win over Everton last week.

West Brom vs Norwich City – Fa Cup Match Preview
West Bromwich Albion take on Premier League opponents Norwich City in the Fa Cup fourth round on Saturday afternoon, with both teams in confident mood in the competition after breezing past the third round.

West Brom will be understandably worrying about their midweek trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham in the league, so may not field their strongest starting eleven today. The Midlands club played well in their third round tie with Cardiff, which was also at the Hawthorns, as they beat the Welsh side 4-2 thanks to a hat-trick from Simon Cox and a strike by Peter Odemwingie. The side’s form has been inconsistent of late: Wdlllw, but they did manage to end their horrible run at the Britannia Stadium last weekend with a much deserved victory over Stoke City. West Brom reached the Fa Cup semi-final a few years back but lost to Portsmouth 1-0. Many...
