When the Star Wars universe revived itself in 2015 with The Force Awakens, it felt like the dawn of a bold new age. The movie raked in huge profits, made household names of folk like Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver, and set the franchise up for more success down the road.
Then came The Last Jedi in 2017, which divided the fandom. Then came The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, which did it again. In between, there were standalone hits like Rogue One and underperformers like Solo. And then came the TV shows, some of which hit, some of which flopped, and some of which are floating in the middle (Ahsoka).
The franchise now finds itself in the same position it's been in since at least 2017: unsure what direction to take. At one point, Lucasfilm was going to go all-in on multiple trilogies, including one from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss,...

This article contains spoilers for the end of "Andor" season 2.
The gap between "Andor" seasons 1 and 2 left plenty of space for fans to theorize as to what the second installment of the "Star Wars" series might bring. And while it was always pretty clear that Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona) would continue to play a major role in the story, Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), many might not have guessed just how central their romance arc would be to "Andor" season 2. Cassian's relationship with Bix is, in many ways, the emotional core of the season, and by extension, the show, exploring how two people caught in impossible circumstances can make both devastating decisions and unbreakable bonds.
The end of "Andor" season 2 sees Bix safely escape the violence of the war against the Empire, and also that she gave birth to a child with Cassian. It's a beautiful moment, but one that...

It’s no secret that Andor is one of the best shows on streaming. Not only was the Rogue One prequel a massive hit with audiences — it’s also considered a safe bet to rack up several Emmy nominations. At the Atx TV Festival in Austin, Texas, Andor creator Tony Gilroy and writer Beau Willimon held a panel about the second season of the hit Disney+ show.
Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains Massive spoilers for Season 2 of Andor, particularly through Season 2 Episode 6.
As the second and final season of the show, fans knew going into Andor season 2 that no one was truly safe except Cassian (Diego Luna) and Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly). The result is numerous character deaths, some of which were pretty controversial among fans.

After watching the two seasons of Andor, we now know that the Rebellion wouldn't have existed without the labor and sacrifices of Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgard) and his network of spies and rebels. They left such a dent on the Empire that dedicated Isb agent Dedra Meero (Denise Gough) chased them to the bitter end.
She named the leader of the rebel cell "Axis" after the incident on Ferrix in Season 1 and made it her life's sole purpose to capture the individual.
In Season 2, episode 10, "Make It Stop," she finally gets her moment when she surprises Luthen at his antique art gallery on Coruscant. This happens shortly after he learns about the existence of the Death Star from Rebel mole Lonni Jung (Robert Emms). But before Dedra can celebrate her win, Luthen stabs himself with a Nautolan bleeder.

Andor Season 2 has received nearly unanimous acclaim and appreciation from fans and critics. Social media is full of praise for the show's final arc, which most fans found to be a perfect emotional sendoff to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
There's no doubt that Andor Season 2 has many memorable moments, and certain performances have stood out. However, even though this is an unpopular take, I don't think this show is perfect. Season 2 suffered from the time jumps and other issues evident in the show's final arc.
Here are 6 things to like and dislike about Andor's final arc.

The ending of "Andor" season 2 isn't the show's most bombastic arc, but it does provide some answers to questions we've had from the start. Despite the name of the show, Kleya Marki (Elizabeth Dulau) becomes the real protagonist of the final three episodes, which center around the arrest and death of Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård) and Kleya's subsequent escape from Coruscant with the help of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Ruescott Melshi (Duncan Pow), and K-2So (Alan Tudyk).
When Isb supervisor Dedra Meero (Denise Gough) finally tracks Luthen down to his antique shop, he attempts to kill himself to avoid revealing what he knows about the Rebellion. Despite his efforts, Dedra's forces are able to keep him from the brink of death by bringing him to a hospital, where he's put on life support. Luthen learns of the existence of the Death Star and the final plans to mine the resources to complete Palpatine’s planet killer and after sacrificing himself to make sure those details get to the Yavin IV rebel base Cassian is stirred into action.

This post contains spoilers for all of "Andor" season 2.
I wonder sometimes how we would view the first decade of Disney's ownership of Star Wars as a whole if it weren't for "Andor." The sequel trilogy, which started strong, ended with the most universally disliked film in franchise history. A new streaming era on Disney+ kicked off with a fantastic spin-off in "The Mandalorian," then slowly devolved with less stellar entries like "Obi-Wan Kenobi" and "The Book of Boba Fett." I like "The Bad Batch" and "Tales of the Jedi" as much as the next guy, but the flagship Star Wars stories just started to seem like bad bets. And then "Andor" arrived in 2022, and as far as I'm concerned, none of that other stuff really matters.
It may seem like I'm being hyperbolic, but bear with me. "Andor" is over now, with the final three episodes of season 2 hitting Disney+ this week,...

The third arc of Andor season 2 is some of the best Star Wars TV ever made. The sense of impending doom leading up to the Ghorman massacre, intertwined with the eerie background score and Les Misérables-esque chorus in Episode 8, is perhaps showrunner Tony Gilroy’s most ambitious masterpiece.
Episodes 8 and 9 are currently rated 9.8 on IMDb, making them the show's highest-rated episodes to date. Season 1's "One Way Out" has a 9.5 rating.
The writer of this three-episode arc, Dan Gilroy, keeps the story poignant yet courageous and dares to drop words like “genocide,” but also delivers on the promised connections with the existing Star Wars lore.
From K-2So’s origin story to Mon Mothma’s Rebels connection, here are 10 Easter eggs from Andor season 2 episodes 7-9: "Messenger," "Who Are You?" and "Welcome to the Rebellion."

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Andor” Season 2, Episode 9.
“Andor” Season 2, Episode 9 featured the return of a couple members of the eventual Rogue One team but one is a bit less obvious than the other.
During the episode, Vel (Faye Marsay) is working with a clutch of new rebels and handing out – or back – their weapons. She gets to a distinct pistol and when she asks who it belongs to we get a long take on the latest Rogue One member to arrive at Yavin 4 – Ruescott Melshi (Duncan Pow).
Melshi has a big part to play in a few years when he joins Cassian (Diego Luna), Jyn (Felicity Jones), K-2So (Alan Tudyk) and the rest of Rogue One on their final mission to Scarif, but he also met Cassian years earlier “Andor” Season 1.

The second and final season of Star Wars: Andor will connect Cassian Andor's (Diego Luna) backstory with the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Last we saw the scavenger-turned-mercenary-turned-spy, he convinced Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgard) to make him a part of his secret rebel network. The new season will tell us how he goes from there to becoming a revered Intelligence Officer of the Rebel Alliance, working closely with Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly), Bail Organa (Jimmy Smits), and other Republic-loyalist Senators.
Given the hard-edged storytelling of both Rogue One and Andor, fans are used to seeing onscreen deaths that pull no punches. Be it Cassian's Aldhani allies or Jyn Erso's (Felicity Jones) mother or the entire Rogue One crew, people die without an emotional or heroic sendoff. Season 2 is expected to be no different.

Viggo Mortensen breaking his toe kicking a helmet in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is one of pop culture's most memorable behind-the-scenes fun facts, and now Andorhas given Star Warsfans their own version of this moment. Star Wars has a reputation for keeping its actors safe during filming, but things can still happen. As was the case with Mortensen's emotional portrayal of Aragorn's despair leading to two broken toes, one cast member on the set of Andor also accidentally suffered an injury.
Speaking on a Star Warslivestream, Ruescott Melshi actor Duncan Pow revealed that star Diego Luna accidentally pulled his hamstring during a running scene in Andor season 1. Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy provided commentary on the complications of filming Melshi and Cassian's escape scene as a whole, which led to Pow revealing what happened to Luna during filming. Diego Luna finished filming his final scenes as Cassian Andor months ago, but Andor Season 2 still hasn't been given an official release date. While promoting his new show, La Maquina, co-starring his real-life best friend, Gael Garcia Bernal, Luna told RadioTimes that Andor is coming, but he can't reveal anything about it.
I can't really tell you anything about 'Andor,' but it's coming out. It's coming out, and it's great. The writing of Tony Gilroy is really powerful.Diego Luna.
Andor was originally anticipated to be released much earlier but is now expected to premiere sometime early next year. Luna will reprise his role as Cassian Andor, whose life takes a dramatic turn after he joins the Rebellion. The second and final season will cover four years in Cassian's life before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, likely including Cassian's journey to becoming a valuable asset to the Rebel Alliance.

With the release of Still Wakes the Deep less than a month away, developer The Chinese Room and publisher Secret Mode have revealed the voice cast for the game in a new mini documentary. The cast includes Alec Newman (Cyberpunk 2077), who will be voicing the main protagonist, Cameron “Caz” McLeary, and Neve McIntosh as Suze, Caz’s wife.
“The thing was so well written, and so well-conceived, that I don’t recall having very long conversations about what Caz should sound like,” says Newman, discussing what struck him about Still Wakes the Deep. “With this, you can feel the writing, you can feel the characters.”
Alongside Newman and McIntosh, the full cast for Still Wakes the Deep includes Karen Dunbar, Michael Abubakar, Clive Russell, Shaun Dooley, Stewart Scudamore, Nicholas Boulton, Duncan Pow, Sandy Batchelor, Alan Turkington, and Noof Ousellam.
Taking place in 1975, disaster has struck the Beira D oil rig off the coast of Scotland.

Star Wars' newest television series Andor surprised many audiences with the return of Ruescott Melshi, who first appeared in Rogue One. While having a small supporting role in the film, actor Duncan Pow was reunited with Diego Luna's Cassian Andor in a poignant role during the Narkina 5 prison arc.
With a larger role, Melshi managed to really captivate audiences as he is one of the few prisoners who truly saw the Empire for what it really is. Throughout the long saga, many supporting characters have managed to steal the show thanks to memorable dialogue or just a really cool design that really grabs the audience.
Salacious B. Crumb
One of the silliest characters in Star Wars, Salacious stole the scene every time he appeared onscreen. In Canon, he was seen as both a pet and a Jester of Jabba the Hutt, who found Crumb to be quite amusing.

Season 1 of the Disney+ series Andor is coming to a close, with episode 12 marking the end of this chapter of Cassian Andor’s (Diego Luna) story. So far this season, we’ve seen Cassian slowly become the Rebel we know from Rogue One as well as a glimpse of the growing Rebellion against the Empire. Meanwhile, the Isb and the Empire have proven to be formidable opponents, as their officers show little mercy in their singular goal of galaxy-wide obedience.
Even though we know how Cassian’s story will end in Rogue One, there are still plenty of questions regarding where we’ll leave him this season. Will Luthen and Cassian reunite on Ferrix? Will Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) have to cross her own moral lines in order to move forward with the Rebellion? Will Cassian ever find his sister?

Meanwhile, the Isb and the Empire have proven to be formidable opponents, as their officers show little mercy in their singular goal of galaxy-wide obedience.
Even though we know how Cassian’s story will end in Rogue One, there are still plenty of questions regarding where we’ll leave him this season. Will Luthen and Cassian reunite on Ferrix? Will Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) have to cross her own moral lines in order to move forward with the Rebellion? Will Cassian ever find his sister?
While we...

In the penultimate episode of the first season of Tony Gilroy's exceptional Star Wars series Andor, Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and Ruescott Melshi (Duncan Pow) decided to split up after surviving the horrific events within the Imperial factory facility on Narkina 5. Melshi's decision was fueled by the belief that splitting up would give them a better chance of surviving long enough to get the word out about what the Empire is doing, and it was also a decision that came naturally as Gilroy penned the script. During an interview with Collider's own Steve Weintraub ahead of the finale, Gilroy explained why he felt like the duo needed to go their own ways before they reunite in the lead-up to Rogue One: A Star Wars Series.

Ok, by now, if you’re a fan of Lucasfilm’s “Andor” on Disney+, you’re probably well aware that Sergeant Ruescott Melshi (Duncan Pow) recently returned to the series. Who, you ask? Well, as you’re aware, “Andor” is a prequel series to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” and in that film, Melshi is one of the Rebel Alliance lieutenants in the film aiding Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and the Rogue One squadron.

"Daughter of Ferrix," the penultimate episode of the first season of "Andor," sets the stage for what will likely prove to be a breathtaking finale. Maarva (Fiona Shaw), Cassian's mom, has passed away and a funeral for her is being planned. As word spreads of her demise, the Isb, Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård), Syril Karn (Kyle Soller), and everyone else, make plans to be there in anticipation of Cassian showing up.
On Coruscant, Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly) confesses to her cousin, Vel Sartha (Faye Marsay), just how bad things have gotten, while Vel herself aims to make them worse by causing trouble for Luthen.

Ahead of the phenomenal tenth episode of Andor, Collider's own Steve Weintraub sat down to chat with the show's creator Tony Gilroy to discuss many aspects of the Star Wars series. Andor stars the incomparable Diego Luna as the titular rebel that audiences first met in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, though in this series he hasn't yet figured out what it means to be a hero. The series is a lot more than just an origin story for Cassian, with Gilroy finding ingenious ways to reintroduce characters like Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) and Ruescott Melshi (Duncan pow), while also introducing brand-new characters to root for—and against.

After Cassian Andor's (Diego Luna) escape plan is set in motion, the prisoners overrun the facility and Loy and the rest of the inmates race to the exits. However, they find themselves facing a steep drop to the water below and an ocean between them and freedom. At this point, Loy stops and reveals to Cassian that he can't swim.

Aside from Andy Serkis appearing in the Star Wars universe once again, episode 8 of Andor, “Narkina 5,” features two more familiar faces: Forest Whitaker as Partisan leader Saw Gerrera and Duncan Pow as Ruescott Melshi. In the episode, Saw meets with Luthen Rael on the planet Segra Milo to discuss future Rebellion plans, while Melshi is a prisoner in Cassian Andor’s unit on Narkina 5. Here’s why these characters are so important.
Saw Gerrera has been a mainstay of the Star Wars universe since The Clone Wars, where he led Onderonian forces against the Separatists to save his home planet of Onderon from their rule. In The Bad Batch, Clone Squad 99 is sent to kill Gerrera after he and his militia refuse to submit to the Empire, but they refuse to follow orders, leaving Gerrera and his crew to go about their business.

There will be spoilers for "Andor" Episode VIII - "Narkina 5"
In the previous episode of "Andor," our title character, Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) was arrested for a crime he didn't commit and sentenced to six years of labor. As Cassian is processed into the prison, he's introduced to Kino Loy (Andy Serkis), the foreman and fellow prisoner in charge of keeping everyone on the fifth floor in line.
Loy tells Cassian exactly how things work on their assembly line and how dangerous it can be to step out of line. He also introduces Cassian to his table-mates, the other prisoners he'll be working with. If they work well together, they'll get to have flavor in their food. This Star Wars: Andor article contains spoilers.
Andor Episode 8
In episode 8 of Andor, half of the action is a Star Wars version of the Shawshank Redemption, and there’s something about this specific incarceration that feels a bit on the fake side of the Force, like the Disneyland version of a space prison. Andor episode 8 is good, but as we watch humans literally build the cogs that make the machines of the Empire work, one can’t help but wonder, are we getting a bit too granular with the logistics of Star Wars?
At the point at which Cassian gets thrown into a forced-labor Imperial prison, nobody wanted Andor to suddenly turn into Alien 3, but there’s still something a bit too sanitized about these Star Wars prison sequences. Essentially, this Imperial prison motivates the inmates to be really good at building cogs(?) and pits various teams of workers against each other.

Forest Whitaker returns as Saw Gerrera in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story spinoff series Andor. Just one of many Star Wars projects in development at Disney+, Andor will primarily follow Diego Luna reprising his role as Cassian Andor, the character he played in Rogue One. As a prequel, the series is set in the years before the events of the movie, serving as an origin story for Cassian Andor while delving into the early days of the feud between the Rebellion and the Empire.
At this time, production is underway on Andor, though Disney is holding back on divulging more information. It wasn't entirely clear which other actors might be coming back from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but it did seem likely others would be involved.
