The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will hand out the awards, which recognize excellence in sports television coverage in 2024, on May 20 at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in Manhattan.

In a welcome change of pace, Netflix has renewed one of its newest seasons, with French sports drama The Cage now getting the greenlight for Season 2. The series, which combines Rocky with Warrior and centers on a young Mma fighter who gets a shot at the big time, has proven to be divisive among both critics and audiences alike, but no doubt many will be pleased to see that, this time, the dreaded Netflix ax did not fall.

The news of a Season 2 renewal for The Cage was revealed thanks to the official X/Twitter account for Netflix France, which declared, “The Fight Continues—The Cage Season 2 Confirmed!” Released onto the platform on November 8, the series has seen a surge in popularity, garnering 17.40 million views and taking over the top spot in the charts from the critically acclaimed anime series, Arcane.

The closest Hollywood has come so far is Warrior, starring Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton. But, a new series from Netflix titled La Cage (The Cage in English) looks like a strong contender.

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for La Cage. Starring Melvin Boomer, the series follows an aspiring French Mma fighter with dreams of joining the UFC to rescue his family from poverty. To earn his shot, Taylor must defeat one of France's strongest prospects, Ibrahim (Bosh). Setting an Mma drama in France is an inspired choice, as the sport was only legalized there in 2020, meaning much of the country's talent has gone unrecognized.

A new Street Fighter movie is in development, but the characters for the film have not yet been cast. In anticipation of the film, an AI-generated concept trailer imagines how some of the characters would appear with certain actors in the roles.

The trailer was shared to YouTube by Stryder HD. It includes some popular fantasy casting picks that have been imagined previously with fan art, including Alan Ritchson as Guile and Ryan Gosling as Ken. Lex Fridman, host of the famous Lex Fridman Podcast, posted a video of him training with Musk.

“I did an impromptu training session with @elonmusk for a few hours yesterday. I’m extremely impressed with his strength, power, and skill, on the feet and on the ground,” Fridman said.

The film follows Michael Hero, a powerful CEO seeking vengeance for the murder of his grandson by offering a 1M bounty for the assassination of his grandson’s killers, which attracts the world’s leading assassins to the fierce opportunity.

Hot off of the success of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+, series director Kari Skogland says she'd be up to direct the upcoming movie sequel Captain America 4 for Marvel Studios. Developed for Disney+ by head writer and showrunner Malcolm Spellman, all six episodes of Falcon were directed by Skogland. The ending of the series sets up a perfect starting point for Captain America 4 with Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson now wielding the shield.

Recently, it was announced that Spellman would next co-write Captain America 4 with Dalan Musson. Because it's probable that the sequel will pick up where The Falcon and the Winter Soldier left off, it seems natural that Kari Skogland could also come on board alongside Spellman to direct. As of now, no director has yet been attached to the project, but in a new interview with CinemaBlend, Skogland was asked if she would take the job if asked.

Georges St-Pierre’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” was more successful than his first go-round with an Avenger, when he couldn’t last five minutes against Steve Rogers in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

This time, St-Pierre’s Georges Batroc was even able to get the upper hand on one of Marvel’s heroes, when he executed a pretty nifty take down of Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson in that nearly 10-minute aerial combat scene from last Friday’s premiere.

Batroc, a mercenary who is now working with the criminal organization Laf, was ultimately unsuccessful in his plan of kidnapping an Army officer. But he was able to evade capture (by leaping out of a plane in a pretty sweet winged flight suit of his own) and lives to fight another day. “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” is off to an action-packed start, and already bringing in some familiar faces. Obviously, there’s one in particular that we need to touch on immediately.

Most of the Marvel superheroes in the MCU have multiple actors audition and even screentest for their respective roles before a final decision was made, but the role of Sam Wilson was offered to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Anthony Mackie from the get-go with no audition necessary. While this is a very rare occurrence when it comes to casting major roles at Marvel Studios, an exception was made for Mackie as everyone was in complete agreement from the start that he was the perfect Falcon.

The update was confirmed after a social media post from Disney revealed Mackie, Oduye, and director Kari Skogland captioned Oduye as Sarah Wilson.

Adepero Oduye is known for her film appearances in 12 Years A Slave (2013), Widows (2018), and Pariah (2011). For Pariah she was nominated for Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead. She was also seen in Ava DuVernay's biographical crime-drama When They See Us (2019).

The mixed martial arts and former UFC star is very excited to be back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Disney+ is currently streaming WandaVision, which is the first of the many MCU shows that are on the way. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is up next, with a debut next month, and MCU fans could not be more excited to see Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan back together again.

In a new interview, Georges St-Pierre confirmed his return to the MCU. "No one is more excited than I am to come back. I feel very blessed and happy. It was a great learning experience," he says of the series. In between his own takes, St-Pierre would study Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan from the monitors to help inform his acting chops.

Bucky Barnes will always have an attachment to Captain America, no matter who holds the title. In the new trailer for “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” released by Marvel Studios at the Disney Investor Day, Sebastian Stan’s character works alongside the newest Captain America: The Falcon.

Played by Anthony Mackie, the Falcon received the honorary title from the original Captain America during the resolution of Marvel’s “Avengers: Endgame,” though he continues to operate under his bird-based persona.

The upcoming series, originally set to release in August of this year, was delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but is now expected to premiere on March 19, 2021.
