Victoria Gaitán is a Spanish artist based in Barcelona. Art has always been part of her life, and her creativity has evolved through acting, screenwriting, directing, and photography, ultimately finding its expression in the world of painting. Though she admits that her work always seeks to delve deeper than what appears on the surface, aiming to gain a greater understanding of herself and others.
She believes that the great challenge in life is to reach the true essence of who we are and to live from that truth. "The essence behind the masks of the ego and beneath layers of conditioning," she says. "I try to bring light to dark areas, flowing through the connection with the present and the creative process," which, for her, is a great meditation and tool for self-knowledge. "It's about seeking purity, about doing 'alchemy,' and being aware of the importance of one's own authenticity, above superficiality, from which I don't believe anything healthy or solid can be built."
