Gerald J Godbout III started his career back in 1990 as a DJ. Spinning at Clubs, Private and Corporate parties. Around 1994 Gerald started Detour Records Inc., a Miami-based Dance Label, producing some of the hottest Freestyle, Dance & House music of the 90s. For 10 years Gerald worked in the music industry releasing five albums and more than a dozen singles. With a slew of top 20 dance hits Detour Records music was played at radio stations and charted in many Dance Magazines and Record pools. During his 10 years in the music business Gerald worked with & learned from some of the most influential producers and artists of their time.
In 2000 Gerald J Godbout closed Detour Records Inc. and Started Godbout Entertainment to focus on his childhood dream of filmmaking. Starting with Music Videos Gerald worked with some of his music peers Including (Lewis Martinee) hit producer of Expose'. (Larry Davis) keyboard and trumpet for the Village People producer and re-mixer for James Brown, Tito Puente JR, and 2 Unlimited. In 2004 Gerald shot his first short film Legends and released it online. Youtube did not exist yet and yet in its first year Legends had almost 9hundred thousand times and would go on to make many top10 best horror fan film. In 2006 Gerald start working in television editing and producer many shows including his very own Indie Cinema Showcase. His work has been featured in PBS, Rural TV, Vision TV and many more, two years later in 2008 Gerald was nominated and won a Emmy Award for his post production on a kids show called Sports Zone. Also in 2008 he won his first Telly Awards for Editing and Cinematography for his short film In The Dark. Gerald would go on to be nominated for two more Emmy Awards one in 2009 and another in 2015 where he also Won a Silver Telly Award for his post production work on the documentary film called Silver Wings, Fly Dreams. which is currently being turned into a feature film Silver Wings being produced by Fox 2000 Pictures. Currently in 2018 Gerald has won 2 more Telly Awards for his work on his film Ghost App which has also won several Film Festival Awards and his post production work on the short film Tender Vow which has also won several Film Festival Awards.
