This marks the first Emmy win for Lady Gaga, who is now just a Tony away from Egot. Spielberg has previously won seven Daytime Emmys, four-time Primetime Emmys, and one International Emmy.

Lady Gaga's victory came in the Outstanding Music Direction category as a producer of "Hold My Hand" ahead of Super Bowl Lix — a tribute to victims of the New Orleans terror attack on New Year's Eve. Spielberg won a pair — for producing and writing the "Land of Stories" opening of the 2024 Summer Olympics.

NBC/Peacock’s coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics received 10 wins, including Outstanding Live Special Championship Event. Outstanding Personality winners included Charles Barkley (TNT) for studio analyst, Peyton Manning (ESPN2) for event analyst, and Joe Davis (Fox) for play-by-play.

Besides Gaga (who won for her Super Bowl performance of “Hold My Hand” in the outstanding music direction category), key winners included NBC/Peacock for its coverage of the Summer Olympics, which received ten wins, while Steven Spielberg earned two for for producing and writing the “Land of Stories” opening.

TNT’s Charles Barkley was recognized for studio analyst, ESPN’s Peyton Manning for event analyst, and Fox’s Joe Davis for play-by-play.

Merging Vets and Players (Mvp) was created in 2015 by NFL insider and analyst Jay Glazer and Army Green Beret Nate Boyer to address the similar challenges combat veterans and former pro athletes face when the uniform comes off. For navigating the transition back to civilian life, the nonprofit organization aims to help by offering fitness sessions and peer-to-peer support. Boyer, who served for six years and multiple tours, brings to life the story of Mvp’s creation, in which he serves as the writer, producer, lead actor, and director. While it’s clear the film acts as an advertising campaign for the organization, Mvp lacks the adequate storytelling it needs to compel viewers to care beyond its 112-minute runtime.

Based on the true story of the formation of Merging Vets & Players, Mvp showcases the importance of personal development and mental health by showing vets and retired athletes that they are never alone.

Food Network continues to cook up its relationship with popular host Guy Fieri, who is gearing up to launch his sixth show with the network.

Fieri’s next outing is “Guy’s Ultimate Game Night,” a culinary game show with celebrity guests competing in food-related games and trivia that brings some Hollywood flavor into the TV chef’s ever-growing repertoire.

The series — which launches on Aug. 31 at 9 p.m. — will air on both Food Network and Discovery Plus, further establishing Fieri’s presence in the new Warner Bros. Discovery era, both on linear and streaming.

Exclusive: Lucy Freyer has joined the cast of Brit McAdams’ Paint, starring Owen Wilson, Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ciara Renée, Lusia Strus and Stephen Root.

The comedic feature centers on Carl Nargle (Wilson), who has hosted Vermont’s #1 painting show for nearly three decades. While Carl’s signature whisper has long kept viewers from Pittsfield to St. Albans breathlessly hanging on his every stroke, the station eventually hires a younger, better painter who steals everything (and everyone) Carl loves.

In the film, which is currently in production, Freyer plays the eager and impressionable Jenna, an employee at Carl’s studio who is also his latest girlfriend. Like the women before her, she’s captivated by Carl’s gentle charm, but is starting to realize that she’s doing things she doesn’t believe in just to gain his affection.

Fox has locked “Lego Masters” for a second season. The competition series, hosted by Will Arnett, has already been casting and will shoot in the spring for an airdate sometime in 2021.

A pickup has been expected for months, particularly after Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch revealed that preparation had begun on Season 2 during an investor earnings call in May. But negotiations with Endemol Shine North America, which produces the show, took longer than expected as both sides ironed out license fees.

“Lego Masters” was a hit for Fox last season, ending the year as broadcast TV’s No. 1 new entertainment program among adults 18-49 and No. 1 new reality series in total viewers, averaging 9.7 million across all platforms. Fox also touted the show’s draw for co-viewing, as adults and their children watched together.
