A couple of years ago there was a lot of buzz circulating around director Jamin Winans' feature film Ink. I remember seeing the poster everywhere but the movie dropped off my radar completely until earlier today when I saw the first trailer for Winan's feature film follow-up.
The Frame stars David Carranza and Tiffany Mualem and besides the fact that the movie is a sci-fi mystery, that's really all we know about the project. Winan and producing (and life) partner Kiowa K. Winans are keeping details under wraps but one thing is certain: this is looking mighty fine.
I love this trailer which is both gorgeous and completely mysterious and doesn't give away any of the story (except may that aliens are involved?) but manages to intrigue. This is looking like one to keep an e [Continued ...]...

As some of our regular readers may know by now, we at Screen Rant like to hear about small studio indie films that may find a way to bring some original stories to the table and become widely successful. The recently successful Paranormal Activity is the biggest thing in the indie world since sliced bread. Last week, we introduced you to a new indie web series Broken Toy and of course we have been following the movies Black Death, Solomon Kane and The Tournament, in hopes of seeing them snag a big-screen wide release.
Today we bring you two trailers for a new film by indie studio Double Edge Films, which hopes to continue the indie breakout trend with their movie Ink. Written and directed by Jamin Winans (which might make my top 10 coolest names – Kofi Outlaw is on that list as well), Ink is the story of a little...

Thanks to great buzz and growing audiences, Ink, an "It’s a Wonderful Life meets Sin City-high-concept visual thriller", opened to sellout shows last Friday at the Starz FilmCenter, earning the Jamin Winan film a well-deserved extension at the theater until April 2nd. "With only 8 showings, Ink outperformed all art house cinema titles playing in Denver last weekend, and nearly beat the per screen average attendance of all films, coming in only behind the Hollywood blockbusters Watchmen, Last House on the Left, and Race to Witch Mountain,” said Neil Truglio, Director of Marketing for the Starz FilmCenter .
"We thought the film was doing well in Santa Barbara but nothing could have prepared us for the response here in Denver," says producer Kiowa K. Winans. "The feedback we are getting is astounding. People are really seeing the film as an incredibly uplifting, moving experience packaged with highly unique and exciting visuals.
