One Day: Justice Delivered

It is an audacious idea, not fully or convincingly implemented. But nevertheless interesting for the way the theme of subversion of justice is used to create a whole narrative of anarchy.
And then there are the actors, some of them like Anupam Kher, Kumud Mishra, Zarina Wahab and Ananth Mahadevan so effective you are tempted to overlook the giant leaps into absurdity that the plot daringly negotiates at the risk of falling into the abyss.
Deep down, this is a film, not free of flab and humbug, that cares, in its own twisted melodramatic way about the subversion and near-collapse of the justice and morality in India. Anubhav Sinha recently made the masterpiece Article 15 on monstrous inequalities in the social system. This frail followup doesn’t intend to have Sinha’s lofty ambitions.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who will be seen in One Day: Justice Delivered, says the audience has evolved enough to celebrate a good story that goes beyond box office numbers.
Asked about his views on the changing business of cinema where many films that do not do good numbers in the theatres get appreciation once they are available on Ott platforms, Anupam Kher told the publication: "I think the best thing that has happened in the last couple of years... which is great for filmmakers and actors like us, is that the audience wants to watch intelligent stories. And success of all films are not defined by box office numbers."

"Since we have the digital release of films these days, we know there is content that the audience would enjoy in intimate viewing rather than community viewing. Now a group of audience is growing.

Anupam Kher and Esha Gupta's One Day: Justice Delivered, which was scheduled to release on June 28, will now open on July 5.
The film got delayed as the makers didn't get "Censor cuts clearances on time".
In a joint statement, producer Swati Singh and director Ashok Nanda said: "We didn't get censor cuts clearances on time so film print could not be delivered to overseas distributors."
"And we wanted worldwide release on same date. So, we moved to July 5 with the joint decision of producer, director and distributor."

Starring Anupam Kher and Esha Gupta ‘One Day: Justice Delivered’ is scheduled to release on 14th June 2019. While Esha is playing a cop, Anupam is taking on the role of a lawyer in this taut thriller.
Talking with BollySpice about this character Esha told Sunny Malik, “I had to learn a Haryanvi accent for my role. I’ve had extensive training for so that it seems natural. The body language was one thing I had to work on as well.”
