August 29, 2024 – Hollywood tough guy Michael Madsen shatters expectations in his latest film, Mr. Wonderful, which just wrapped production in Los Angeles. The Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill star trades his signature intensity for surprising vulnerability in this indie dramedy, marking a dramatic departure from his iconic crime roles.
Madsen stars as Prof. Brian Fenton, a jaded academic fighting to keep his job while his world crumbles around him. He’s caught between a millennial son on the run from drug dealers and a father battling senility – who’s harboring shocking secrets of his own. This multi-generational family drama promises to reveal a side of Madsen audiences have never seen before.
Director Mark David (Texas Heart) describes the film as “reminiscent of David O. Russell or Judd Apatow,” adding, “It was thrilling to take a star like Madsen, known for tough crime thrillers, and watch him excel as the lead in...

Single mother Jess arrives on a remote island to compete on Love At Last, TV’s number one dating show (think The Bachelor – hence the title of the film). Her quest for love becomes a fight for survival when she slowly discovers that a mysterious killer is slaying the contestants, one by one, even with the cameras rolling. Jess must navigate a sea of two-faced beauty queens, coldhearted producers, and one mysterious and deadly killer in order to get off the island alive.
Another Tubi original, which some might feel isn’t saying much given the response to a lot of the streaming services output, The Final Rose feels like those typical trashy Hallmark/Lifetime thrillers – only this one cranks up the...

What do you do when your wife forces you to watch The Bachelor? You make a horror movie about it, of course… and that’s exactly what director Tim Cruz did. His third film The Final Rose is a slasher-whodunit set on a remote island about a single mother competing on a reality TV dating show called Love at Last. When the contestants become targets of a mysterious masked killer, their search for romance turns into a fight for survival.
Pitched to Fox and Tubi in September 2021, the concept was impressively bought on the spot based on two sentences. Cruz and co-writer Blake Rutledge created the outline in two weeks, completed the first draft in five and shot the film in 12 days during a sweltering June in California. Fittingly released during Filipino American History Month, Cruz expresses pride in it most likely being the first studio-produced film with a Filipino director,...

While we couldn't get much out of the girl behind Loren when it comes to spoilers for Nick's new nightly drama Hollywood Heights, with a show this good, why would you want them? Instead, Brittany Underwood dishes on fan reaction, what makes Eddie and Loren a perfect match, and how to keep your cool- even when meeting Justin Timberlake By Terron R. Moore
So did you do anything cool for last week's special premiere?
Brittany Underwood: I went over to my friend’s house- I’d seen it before, but it’s nice to see it with other people and see their feedback! Everything was really positive, and then I went and saw what people were saying about Hollywood Heights when it was trending [on Twitter], and it was overall positive. A couple were saying, “oh, I’m not into it,...

Nick at Nite heats up the summer with stardom, romance and deceit with the premiere of the nightly primetime drama, Hollywood Heights, and if that doesn't already intrigue you then did we mention James Franco is also coming along for the ride! The brand-new hour-long series which stars Cody Longo, Brittany Underwood and Carlos Ponce and none other than James Franco, who will star in a multi-episode storyline on the show is going to heat up your weeknights starting June 18 at 9 p.m. (Et/Pt) Adapted for a U.S. audience from the wildly popular Mexican telenovela Alcanzar una Estrella, 'Hollywood Heights' follows the journey of a teenage girl whose life changes drastically when she becomes a star and wins the love of her rock and roll idol, and both are tested by setbacks, heartbreak and deception. Nickelodeon certainly has its work cut out for itself, promising 80 episodes of new tween soap Hollywood Heights, all to run weeknights at 9pm through October. Nick at Nite is premiering an all-new drama in June called "Hollywood Heights" and Zap2it has an exclusive first-look clip of the show's first promo.
The show chronicles the life of Loren (Brittany Underwood, "One Life to Live"), a smart and independent, but shy, high school senior who has ambitions of being a songwriter and sends her lyrics to rock star Eddie (Cody Longo, "Days of Our Lives"). When she not only wins a songwriting competition sponsored by Eddie, but also becomes his friend, it's like Loren's wildest dreams have come true.
Actor James Franco has been recently added to the cast in a guest-starring role. He'll appear in multiple episodes as Osborne "Oz" Silver, an intense, eccentric movie mogul who lives life to the fullest and does whatever it takes to make the film he wants.
