‘McFarland USA’ To Close Santa Barbara Film Festival: Full Lineup
Premiere (1977)
The Santa Barbara International Film Festival has unveiled its 2015 line-up which includes films representing 54 countries, 23 world premieres and 53 U.S. premieres. The U.S. premiere of Niki Caro’s McFarland USA will close out the 30th fest. Based on the 1987 true story and starring Kevin Costner and Maria Bello, the film follows novice runners from McFarland, an economically challenged town in California’s farm-rich Central Valley, as they give their all to build a cross-country team under the direction of Coach Jim White (Costner), a newcomer to their predominantly Latino high school. The unlikely band of runners overcomes the odds to forge not only a championship cross-country team but an enduring legacy as well.

The festival runs from January 27-February 7.

Below is the list of World and U.S. Premiere films followed by the list of titles by sidebar categories.

Israel (2013)
'McFarland, USA' will close out 30th annual Santa Barbara Film Festival
Israel (2013)
A self-acknowledged "showcase for Academy Award frontrunners," the Santa Barbara International Film Festival is often overlooked for the actual films that earn it festival status. An amalgamation of international discoveries and ’merica’s circuit highlights, the Sbiff curates a week of best-of-the-best to pair with their star-praising. The 2015 edition offers another expansive selection, bookended by two films that aren’t on any radars just yet. Sbiff will open with "Desert Dancer," producer Richard Raymond’s directorial debut. Starring Reece Ritchie and Frieda Pinto, the drama follows a group of friends who wave off the harsh political climate of Iran’s 2009 presidential election in favor of forming a dance team, picking up moves from Michael Jackson, Gene Kelly and Rudolf Nureyev thanks to the magic of YouTube. The festival will close with "McFarland, USA," starring Kevin Costner and Maria Bello. Telling the 1987 true story of a Latino high school’s underdog cross-country team,...

Launch My Line (2009)
'Launch My Line' recap: The series premiere!
Launch My Line (2009)
Welcome to Bravo's Launch My Line, where successful people in careers vaguely related to fashion get to magically produce high-end clothing with just a simple boost from delusions of grandeur, a hearty sense of entitlement, and a "fashion expert" who actually knows how to construct clothes and is going to do all the work. It's just like real life! And it's not just like Project Runway. Sure, the Frederic Fekkai Studio gives off a slight L'Oreal Paris Makeup Room vibe, but that's where the similarities end. Tim Gunn has been replaced by a low-hanging fruit cluster called "DSquared2." You look...

Bravo's latest 'Runway' substitute 'Launch My Line' looks fiercer than 'The Fashion Show'
To be fair, so does everything. Behold the intro video for Bravo's second "We wish it was Project Runway but instead it is this" series, Launch My Line. This time, 20 people who are already successful in different lines of work -- music mogul! CEO! -- need only exhibit a "passion for fashion" in order to compete for the chance to launch a clothing line. Take it away, D Squared. My favorite part of the video is when Merle Ginsberg -- a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race but a contestant here, declares, "I am a frustrated fashion designer," with the same proud/defensive intonation one might use when insisting, "I do care about the Middle East." We have architect David Applebaum, whose client base is two-thirds deceased, Lou Rawls' daughter, familiar face (but not that hat!) Patrick McDonald, So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Dan Karaty, and Eric the DJ,...

10 Pairs of Bravo TV's 'Launch My Line' Unveiled
In a creative new package, Bravo TV will premiere yet another fashion reality show called "Launch My Line". The show will pair up professionals wishing to have their own fashion line with established fashion designers that assist them in the journey. The ten teams that will compete for the ultimate prize have been unveiled.

The concept of the show is to have the pairs sharing cohesiveness in creating a fashion line.
