Keith Grayson, the influential hip hop mixtape artist, graffiti icon and New York radio host known professionally as DJ Kay Slay, died on Sunday. He was 55. Grayson’s family confirmed the news Monday after he had been battling Covid-19.
Grayson had been the longtime host of the “Drama Hour” on Hot 97 FM in New York, earning him the additional moniker of “The Drama King.”

And while Guru and his partner in Gang Starr, DJ Premier, never enjoyed huge pop success, their impact in hip-hop both collectively and individually is immeasurable.

Over the weekend, the Ncaa conference tournaments wrapped up and the final Ncaa Men's Basketball Tournament brackets were unveiled on Sunday night (March 14). Yes, March Madness is finally here, and it's one of the best times of the year for sports. Next week, a number of New York rappers will hold a benefit concert in the aftermath of the death of up-and-coming rapper Mike Beck, who was gunned down on October 30 in Brooklyn, New York. Former Diplomats member Hell Rell, Grafh, Littles, Saigon, Maino, Papoose and Webstar are just a few of the people who plan to come out and support their fallen soldier, with proceeds going to Beck's young son.

50 Cent has officially called out Jay-z. On Thursday night, the much hyped Beanie Sigel/ 50 Cent collaboration, "I Go Off," premiered on Philadelphia's Power 99 and New York's Hot 97, during Kay Slay's "Drama Hour."
50 Cent doesn't have a verse on the record, but for the most part keeps his mic time relegated to the hook. Meanwhile, Sigel — who slammed Jay-z on Power 99 last week — doesn't call out any names.
"Big Pop of the prop on deck," Beans rap. "Who shot ya?/ Who want beef with Big Poppa?/ ... I earned every buck that was mine/ I know n---as upstate doing life in a box/ I know n---as upstate doin' life with they pops."

On an on-air interview during a launch party of his "The Way I Am" book, Eminem revealed that his sixth major studio album will be titled "Relapse". Showing much of annoyance concerning the rumor of his upcoming album, the rapper said, "Here's the deal. There's like a lot of album titles floating around out there that like, are fake album titles ... like bullshit album titles, so I was just gonna say, you know, tell everybody the real title of my album. It's coming out, it's called 'Relapse.'"
