Doctor Who Season 15, Episode 5, "The Story & the Engine" will take the series to Lagos, Nigeria. Director Makalla McPherson recently opened up about the episode and credited series showrunner Russell T Davies as the inspiration for it.

While soldiers guard oil and Omo experiences young love, he discovers that the mining operations create a wildfire, leading to Omo and his new crush, Blue, taking a stand against the miners.

The BBC has greenlit Matilda: The Musical scribe Dennis Kelly’s adaptation of Andy West’s hit memoir about his life teaching philosophy in prisons.

BAFTA-nominated Josh Finan (The Responder) leads the cast as Dan, a philosopher who begins teaching a class of men in prison. The character is based on West and the show currently has working title Waiting for the Out.

From writer/director Charlotte Serena Cooper, the film is billed as a “bold takedown of outdated LGBTQ+ tropes in film and TV mixed with dark comedy that satirises the harmful cinematic tradition of the same name.”

Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch are bringing their new Peacock series to the United Kingdom!

Eddie and Lashana, who is pregnant with her first child, posed for photos together on the red carpet at The Day of the Jackal premiere on Tuesday (October 22) held at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, England.

Eddie and Lashana had the support of their spouses Hannah and Zackary Momoh, respectively, at the premiere.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Úrsula Corberó, Chukwudi Iwuji, Richard Dormer, Lia Williams, Jonjo O’Neill, and Sule Rimi.

Here’s a synopsis: “A ruthless assassin, the Jackal, (Redmayne) makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee. But following his latest kill, he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.”

The Day of the Jackal will premiere on November 14 on Peacock.

The Jackal was on the loose in London on Tuesday evening. Eddie Redmayne, Lashana Lynch, and Úrsula Corberó, known for her role as Tokyo in Netflix hit Money Heist, were among the stars of the upcoming TV adaptation of The Day of the Jackal for Sky and Peacock who attended the U.K. premiere of the series at Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre in the British capital.

Redmayne plays the famous fictional assassin in the original series based on the Frederick Forsyth novel and award-winning 1973 film adaptation of the same name from Universal Pictures. The star also executive-produced the show.
