Review: Episode 3 of Nautilus gives us an exciting island revolution
Image
At the end of the previous episode, the Nautilus was trapped by a giant squid near the ocean floor. It prevents them from surfacing by wrapping its body around the ship and holding fast with tentacle suckers. As it squeezes, the ship's metal hull groans and parts fall off.

Nemo, reckless as ever, puts on a diving suit and exits to try and scare it off. His spear gun is no match for it. However, mama whale shows up and rescues the Nautilus. Perhaps the whales are going to be a recurring thing.

Meanwhile, the Nautilus is still being pursued by the dreadnought, but it escapes by firing a torpedo filled that makes a lot of noise. Both ships have men monitoring ocean sounds. The dreadnought officer picks up on the torpedo, so they give chase. Meanwhile, the Nautilus fires its engines and flees. Crawley is disgusted at falling for the ruse.

‘Mulan’ Is Disney’s First Live-Action Remake to Get a PG-13 Rating
Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Geoffrey Rush, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites, Pablo, and Chiquita in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
“Mulan” may not be for very young children, as it’s become the first Disney live-action remake to receive a PG-13 rating.

The new take on the Disney classic got the rating from the Motion Picture Association of America due to the “sequences of violence” apparently depicted in the film. All previous live-action remakes from the studio have received a G or PG rating, and 2017’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” was Disney’s most recent film to be labeled PG-13.

“Mulan” is straying away from the model of previous remakes like “Aladdin,” “The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Cinderella.” Unlike the other live-action takes, “Mulan’s” trailers depicted the film without its famous musical numbers and removed some of the characters featured in the original 1998 animated version, including Mushu, Mulan’s dragon companion who was voiced by Eddie Murphy. Two trailers have been released,...

New Mulan Footage Brings Down the House at D23
New footage from Disney's upcoming live-action adaptation of Mulan dropped during the D23 Expo earlier today. The movie has seen some controversy over the past week after star Yifei Liu made comments on social media about the ongoing protests in Hong Kong. Most of projects featured at the event today had their stars and directors in tow, but Liu was not in attendance, more than likely due to the backlash she has received for siding with the Hong Kong police over the heavily divisive protests going on at this moment.

Whatever the case may be, the real focus of the day was on the Mulan footage, which wowed the audience in the packed presentation hall. The footage looked even better than the first trailer, which was just released last month and Disney fans are going to be excited to see this remake. While a lot of the recent remakes have seen resistance from fans,...

Epic Mulan Images Reveal the Beauty of Disney's Upcoming Remake
Disney released the first Mulan trailer this morning and have followed it up with some brand-new images. The trailer premiered during the FIFA Women's World Cup game as the United States took on the Netherlands and Disney fans are more than likely pretty intrigued with what they saw in the brief trailer. The remake looks to have a much more serious tone when compared to the source material and seems to confirm previous reports about the musical elements being stripped away to make an intense female-led action movie. With that being said, there are still many ties to the animated classic shown in the trailer.

Sadly, Mushu, who was voiced by Eddie Murphy in the original movie, and Cri-Kee were not shown in the new Mulan trailer. It has been rumored that Mushu might be a phoenix this time around instead of a dragon and some fans are more than...

Disney's Mulan Trailer Arrives, Animated Classic Becomes a Live-Action Epic
Yesterday we passed along the news that the trailer for Disney and director Niki Caro's live-action remake of the animated classic Mulan starring Liu Yifei and Donnie Yen would be hitting today. And low and behold, that's just what we have For you guys this evening. You can go ahead and check it out below!

I don't know about you, but I'm really looking forward to checking out this live-action take on Mulan. After all, while it seems like every classic Disney animated movie is getting the remake treatment these days, Mulan was the only Disney flick I watched growing up and actually thought, "This would make a great live-action movie!' For some reason, I never said that about The Lion King. Not sure why.

While it's sad that fan-favorite character Mushu (who was voiced by Eddie Murphy in the original movie) has been replaced with a phoenix this time around,...

Disney's Mulan Remake Trailer Drops This Sunday
It was just a day or so ago that we passed along the news that Disney's live-action remake of the animated classic Mulan is possibly ditching the Mushu character from the original film and replacing him with a phoenix. While that was some pretty weak news, we'll all be able to see if it works in the movie's favor sooner rather than later as today we have word that Fox has announced they will debut the trailer this Sunday.

I can only imagine Disney is finally unleashing the trailer for their Mulan remake because their other "live-action" animation remake of The Lion King will be hitting theaters in a few weeks on July 19, 2019. And considering that Iron Man and The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau's retelling of the classic tale is looking to snatch up All the money at the box-office, it makes sense that the trailer for...

Disney's Mulan Remake to Ditch Mushu and All the Songs?
Disney's Mulan remake will reportedly replace fan-favorite Mushu with a phoenix. Additionally, it doesn't look like the classic songs from the original will have vocals on them. Mushu is a Chinese dragon, the self-appointed guardian of Fa Mulan, and the deuteragonist of the animated classic. He is known for his fast-talking, self-absorbed ways and he was voiced by comedian Eddie Murphy in the original 1998 movie. Throughout the years, the character has gained more popularity, so there may be some backlash for leaving him behind this time around. Mark Moseley has voiced the character in all subsequent appearances.

No reasoning has been given behind the alleged replacement of Mushu in the Mulan remake, nor has it been officially confirmed by anyone at Disney. Adding to the Mushu news is the fact that crew members have been spotted wearing jackets with a phoenix on them, deviating away from the dragon design.

Director Niki Caro has shared a Bts photo from Disney's live-action Mulan remake. Production just kicked off recently on this long-awaited new take on the animated classic under the direction of Caro, who is known for her previous movies such as Whale Rider and The Zookeeper's Wife. She also worked previously with Disney on McFarland USA. Still, this is by far her biggest production to date. That said, based on this new image, it looks like she's taking to her new Disney blockbuster gig quite well.

Joining her in the film are: Donnie Yen (“Star Wars: Rogue One”); Jason Scott Lee; Yoson An (“The Meg”); Utkarsh Ambudkar (“Pitch Perfect”); Ron Yuan (“Marco Polo”); Tzi Ma (“Arrival”); Rosalind Chao (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”); Cheng Pei-Pei; Nelson Lee; Chum Ehelepola; with Gong Li and Jet Li.

Disney's Mulan Remake Gets Jason Scott Lee as the Villain
Disney's live-action Mulan has just added another villain, Jason Scott Lee, who is of Chinese and Hawaiian descent. He joins actor Gong Li, who was previously cast as one of the antagonists in the upcoming reimagining of the Disney animated classic. This offers further proof that the Mouse House is putting their money where their mouth is on this one, in terms of not whitewashing it.

Jason Scott Lee is set to portray a warrior by the name of Bori Khan. He's described as a leader dead set on avenging his father's death. Beyond that, his specific motivations and who exactly he wants to get revenge on remain a mystery.

This is an interesting bit of casting in the sense that Jason Scott Lee actually has a pre-established history with Disney. He portrayed Mowgli in his younger years in the studios' 1994 live-action version of The Jungle Book. He was...

Spider (2007) Short Film: Nash Edgerton, Mirrah Foulkes, Joel Edgerton
Spider Short Film. Nash Edgerton‘s Spider (2007) short film stars Nash Edgerton, Mirrah Foulkes, Joel Edgerton, Chum Ehelepola, Bruno Xavier, and Tony Lynch. Spider‘s plot synopsis: “Jill is annoyed with Jack, ignoring his attempts to get her to smile as she drives a city road. She stops for petrol, and while she’s filling the tank, he goes into the station’s mini-mart and buys a bouquet, chocolates…Has Jack made things right again?…Jack and Jill are always hurting each others feelings. But like Mum said, Its all fun and games until someone loses an eye.”

I yelled out loud during a certain part of this short film. Wow. Nicely done and realistic as well. It is extremely rare that a short film gets an emotional reaction out of you the way this one does. A very surprising short film.

Watch the Spider short film and leave your...
