Last year marked the premiere of Brett Goldstein and Will Bridges's longtime passion project, All of You, a sci-fi romance that imagines a world where everyone can take a test to find their true soulmate and focuses on two friends with an unspoken love that they only start to realize once one of them is matched with someone else. It made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival to strong reviews and an 83% Rotten Tomatoes score, marking the culmination of over a decade of work by the Ted Lasso star and the director to bring the idea to life. Now, with Apple TV+ set to release their work for audiences this September, we're excited to include the long-gestating title as part of Collider's Exclusive Preview event for fall movies. In a conversation with Maggie Lovitt for the event, Bridges, Goldstein, and co-lead Imogen Poots detailed how Bridges'...

Hannah Waddingham and Keira Knightley together in a psychological thriller? Sign me up! Both of them will star in Netflix’s The Woman in Cabin 10. The upcoming film is directed by Simon Stone and is based on Ruth Ware’s bestselling 2016 novel of the same name. The film is about a journalist who watches someone get thrown overboard a luxury yacht. However, she is told that nothing happened and that all the crew and passengers are accounted for.
Even though no one believes her, she puts her life in danger to uncover the truth. Having Knightley and Waddingham in it will surely infuse the suspense-filled narrative with powerful female leads who can give the characters the gravitas and range they require. Waddingham broke out as a powerhouse performer after holding her own as Rebecca Welton opposite Ted Lasso co-stars Jason Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein.

In the turn of events, it is said that the famous heartfelt sports dramedy on Apple TV+, Ted Lasso, is inspired by a real coach. Moreover, it is to be believed that the show is Jason Sudeikis‘ ode to famous basketball coach, Donnie Campbell, with whom he shares a connection of years.
The series has been renewed for its fourth season, currently filming, and tells the story of a kind-hearted, folksy football coach from Kansas who has captured our hearts with his optimism and a belief in the power of people. In an interview with The New York Times, Jason Sudeikis talked about his high school basketball coach, Donnie Campbell, as a key influence on the character. He said that the coach had always said to the team that,
“You guys look more nervous than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.”

Ted Lasso, over its 3 seasons, became a global sensation, not just for its heartfelt storytelling and realistic characters, but also for the genuine charm of the cast off-screen.

Here are a few real, genuinely heart-warming occasions when the Ted Lasso cast wooed us with their joy, sincerity, and kindness off-screen.

The cast is affectionate with each other, and in multiple interviews and speeches for awards, acceptances, cast members, including Juno Temple, Brett, Goldstein, Jason Sudeikis, and Hannah Waddingham, have referred to each other as “chosen family”.

Shrinking is Jason Segel’s brainchild, and when the casting for season 2 began, he insisted that Brett Goldstein play the role of Louis, the character responsible for Jimmy’s wife’s death. He recognised that Goldstein had the emotional range to deliver that role with precision and add to the depth of the series.
This intervention came from a place of personal experience. Segel had long been typecast as the lovable, funny friend and shows and movies, and he wanted Brett Goldstein to establish himself in different roles so that he doesn’t get typecast. He simply walked into the trailer and asked, “Why isn’t Brett doing this?“, and that changed the trajectory of the show.

Jason Segel’s career has been anchored on iconic roles from How I Met Your Mother and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Shrinking season 3 may be coming sooner than we think, considering they just wrapped filming this season.
Apple TV+'s Instagram account posted a video of an emotional Harrison Ford giving a speech at the end of filming the upcoming series.
"You guys are the best. The very, very best - at what you do, and how you do it, and how you make people feel is just f****** amazing," Ford told the cast and crew before adding how much he liked working with the cast and crew.
“Yeah, buddy,” Segel interjects before the iconic Star Wars actor snidely says that he wasn’t talking to his co-star.

Jason Segel opened up about what he believes to be “a real pinch-myself moment” in Shrinking. He was talking about Season 2 Episode 6, “In a Lonely Place“, in his appearance on The Colbert Late Show. He said, “It was a real pinch myself moment, for me, like I’m going to be in a canoe with Harrison Ford all day, what a dreamy thing, life has worked out“.
This episode revolves around Harrison Ford and Segel taking a canoe ride to connect a father with his son. Often overshadowed by some of the more dramatic episodes of the series, this one leads with themes of forgiveness, loneliness, and healing in a raw and resonant character-driven manner. The episode isn’t flashy, but its emotional authenticity stands out, marked with subtle humour and heartfelt conversation. Let’s take a deep dive and find out why it is one of the most overlooked episodes in the show.

Jimmy Laird (Jason Segel), everyone's favorite unethical therapist, will soon return to your screens as filming for Season 3 of Shrinking wrapped earlier in the month. In recent days, the series has been in the news for all the right reasons. Besides the announcement of a production wrap on Season 3, Shrinking also earned an impressive number of Emmy nominations. With seven Emmy nomination nods, Season 2 surpasses the first season, which earned just two. Among the Emmy nominations this year were four of the series' best performers in Segal, Michael Urie, Jessica Williams, and Harrison Ford. For the legendary actor, Ford, this serves as his first Emmy nomination ever.
The announcement of the Emmy nominations coincided with the Season 3 filming wrap announcement. Ford, who plays Dr. Paul Rhoades, gave the cast and crew of the Apple TV+ series a heartfelt sendoff in a video shared by the streaming platform on Instagram, after wrapping the third season.

Apple TV+’s Stick was highly anticipated. After all, it was about golf, and it starred Owen Wilson as a washed-up golfer mentoring a reluctant teen prodigy. Viewers expected it to be the next Ted Lasso or Happy Gilmore. It turned out to be neither. After watching season 1, viewers have complained of unlikable characters with no redeeming characteristics and a lack of good chemistry between the cast.
These are the things that Jason Sudeikis’s Ted Lasso got right. The soccer-based show has a simple plot that manages to incorporate contrasting characters and their dynamics with each other. Most importantly, none of the core characters are unlikeable even while they grow and change.
The team as a whole has great chemistry, which makes the show always enjoyable to watch, even when the plot itself feels wonky. Stick, by all these yardsticks, fails to create that same emotional glue that would...

Although Season 3 of Shrinking is officially in the can, Harrison Ford doesn’t appear to have fully bid farewell to Dr. Paul Rhoades.
The first-time Emmy nominee gave the cast and crew of the Apple TV+ series a heartfelt sendoff in a video shared by the streaming platform after wrapping the third season, with co-star Jason Segel by his side.
“You guys are the best. The very, very best at what you do and how you do it, and how you make people feel is just fucking amazing,” he told the crowd. “I love this place, I love working with you guys. I hope we can all get back here and do it again.”
Segel, who stars as Jimmy Laird, echoed the sentiment. “Yeah, buddy,” he said, carrying Ford’s jacket.
“I wasn’t talking to you,” Ford quipped, snatching away his coat as he was apparently still in character as Jimmy’s oft-grumpy mentor.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is many things — sprawling, ambitious, occasionally chaotic — but closure has never been its strong suit. From dangling plot threads to surprise cameos that vanish into the multiverse ether, Phase 5 in particular has racked up its fair share of ghost characters. Remember Charlize Theron’s Clea in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Or Harry Styles’ Eros, who popped up in Eternals and then disappeared faster than a Ravager in a wormhole? If you’ve been waiting for those storylines to pay off… you might want to get comfortable. Speaking during a recent roundtable for Fantastic Four, attended by Collider's Steve Weintraub, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige addressed the elephant in the room — namely, the long list of character introductions that seem to go nowhere.
“There are plans for some and there are opportunities for all. It’s about finding what the right moment is.

The worst-kept secret in TV history has officially been confirmed:

“Ted Lasso” is officially back in production for its anticipated fourth season, with a mixed back of new and returning characters recruited for the coach’s latest adventure.
Along with star and creator Jason Sudeikis, the Apple TV+ comedy series set the return of Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift as filming kicked off Monday in Kansas City. The Multiverse Saga has delivered a jam-packed era of storytelling for the MCU, with several A-List actors cast as characters we haven't seen since. Among them are Charlize Theron's Clea, Brett Goldstein's Hercules, Harry Styles' Starfox, and Sacha Baron Cohen's Mephisto.
As we write this, there's no obvious place for any of those characters to return, and comments from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige are unlikely to make you feel any better about the whole thing.
"Do you want to see them again?" the executive initially responded, comparing those debuts to the lengthy wait for Tim Blake Nelson's MCU return in Captain America: Brave New World following his debut as Samuel Sterns in 2008's The Incredible Hulk.
"That is fun to me," he said. "So let’s talk again in 12 years and see who comes back."

Shrinking and After Life are so similar yet so different! If you have watched Ricky Gervais in his blunt and joyless portrayal of Tony Johnson in Netflix’s After Life, you will agree that the character, dealing with grief and heartbreak, needed to be in therapy. Shrinking on Apple TV+ is created on the same premise, but Jimmy Laird (Jason Segel), the protagonist here, believes in therapy.
He is a therapist himself and is slowly learning to cope with the overwhelming surge of emotions that hit him after the tragic loss of his wife. The emotional recovery theme celebrated in Shrinking is what makes it the perfect watch, and if Ricky Gervais’s character had believed in therapy, this could have been the trajectory of the show After Life.

Harry Styles made an appearance during the mid-credits scene of Marvel’s $402.1 million-grossing film Eternals as the character Eternal Eros, aka Starfox. Since the film didn’t make a big impact, much of its high-profile cast haven’t made any further appearances in the franchise, including Styles. Kevin Feige provides a disappointing update on fan-favorite Spider-Man character Miles Morales' chances of joining the MCU and talks about all those previously teased characters eventually returning. Ted Lasso is a show that manages to be hilarious and heartwarming. The show about being good has been hailed as too simplistic by many, but it has layers of emotional depth. Additionally, the show also doesn’t shy away from paying homage to films and shows that have shaped the zeitgeist. Season 2’s episode, Rainbow, added some rom-com magic to the football storyline to improve the emotional arcs of the characters.
From Notting Hill to Pretty Woman, Ted Lasso has borrowed visual motifs, musical cues, and iconic lines to create subtle love letters to rom-coms. Thankfully, it all works to make the viewer fall more in love with the characters. Also, it helps that these easter eggs are all smartly incorporated into the characters’ emotional arcs. So, let us break down these easter eggs.

Shrinking is an emotionally rich series that is beloved by fans for its dark humor and great performance by leads Jason Segel, Jessica Williams, Harrison Ford, and more. After all, it has received multiple nominations for the 2025 Emmy Awards, although writer and co-creator Brett Goldstein was snubbed. However, another show deserves your attention as well, especially while you wait for Shrinking season 3– Dead to Me.
This 2019 Netflix sleeper hit quickly built a cult following thanks to its unpredictable twists, sharp writing, and chemistry between leads Linda Cardellini and Christina Applegate. Created by Liz Feldman, the show, like Shrinking, blends guilt, grief, and more to tell a story about the messy reality of healing. Dead to Me is also darker and has a twisted edge to it.

Created by Liz Feldman, the show, like Shrinking, blends guilt, grief, and more to tell a story about the messy reality of healing. Dead to Me is also darker and has a twisted edge to it.

Recently, I re-watched Ted Lasso to brush up on the lore and prepare myself for the upcoming season. One thing that I stuck out like a sore thumb that I did not realize the first time was when, in Season 2, Episode 7, titled “Headspace,” Nate kisses Keeley. It was a shocking scene that I was surprised to see in the final cut!
Even Reddit threads made it weirder for me to analyse the scene. This became a notable scene that has gone around and become a point of discussion. Both the characters had their space and situations, but what is more to see through is the fact that Keeley is already Roy’s girlfriend at this point, not to mention the issue of consent.

For a long time, Ted Lasso was Apple TV+’s undisputed comedy king. The feel-good soccer series helped put the streaming platform on the map, pulling in massive viewership and earning 20 Emmy nominations in its debut season. Over its full run, the show racked up an impressive total of 61 Primetime Emmy nominations. But Apple hasn’t slowed down since. The platform has continued to build a reputation for bold, inventive storytelling with series like Severance, Murderbot, and Your Friends & Neighbors, each one delivering standout performances and top-tier production value.
Now, a new champion has taken the comedy crown. The Studio, starring Seth Rogen, has officially surpassed Ted Lasso’s first-season Emmy count, making it the most decorated freshman comedy in Apple TV+ history and signaling a major shift in the streamer’s comedic legacy.
