When Apple TV+'s Physical returns for its final season, Sheila Rubin (Rose Byrne) will face some serious competition. The dark comedy, which stars Byrne as a housewife turned fitness entrepreneur, is welcoming Zooey Deschanel as Kelly Kilmartin, Rubin's new rival. In her return to scripted television, Deschanel will play a rising exercise star that threatens Sheila's position as a national television fitness personality. In the new trailer, which you can watch below, we see Sheila on the "precipice of something big" when Kelly, "the most famous fitness star," starts to get into Sheila's head.

Season 3 of Physical stars Byrne, Rory Scovel as Danny, Dierdre Friel as Greta, Paul Sparks as John Breem, and Deschanel. Just as the dark voices in her head have silenced as Sheila commits to her wellness journey and builds a television fitness empire, a new opponent arises for the entrepreneur in a rising exercise celebrity, played by Zooey Deschanel.

“You are a national television personality now,” Greta tells Sheila in the trailer. “We are on the precipice of something big, there’s just one problem: Kelly Kilmartin … she’s the most famous fitness star.”

Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions have acquired Somewhere in Queens, Ray Romano’s debut feature as a director that bowed at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Roadside plans a theatrical release in 2023 for the comic drama that Romano stars in, co-wrote with Mark Stegemann and also produced.

Season 2 of the series follows Sheila Rubin (Rose Byrne) who, after launching her first fitness video, has uncovered a new set obstacles in her way to building her fitness empire. Dark comedy Physical will be back for another go-round. Apple TV+ announced today it has renewed the half-hour dramedy, starring and exec produced by Rose Byrne, for a third season.

From creator, writer and exec producer Annie Weisman, Physical revolves around Sheila (Bryne), a woman in the early 1980s who is struggling with bulimia but begins to ascend from housewife to aerobics video star in the face of her husband’s run for a local political office in San Diego. The series tracks her epic journey from a stifled, overlooked enabler to a powerful, confident economic force as Sheila transforms into someone we take for granted today but was entirely radical at the time — the female lifestyle guru.

John Mulaney, Billy Eichner, Bill Burr and other comedians have been added to the growing roster of performers headlining events at the inaugural “Netflix is a Joke: The Festival,” the streamer announced on Tuesday.
