The Bad Guys are back, but this time they’re good?! That seems to be the case. Wolf (voiced by Sam Rockwell), Snake (voiced by Marc Maron), Ms. Tarantula (voiced by Awkwafina), Piranha (voiced by Anthony Ramos), and Shark (voiced by Craig Robinson) are all trying their very best to be good. They even look for jobs, but things aren’t going well for them in The Bad Guys 2.
A prime example of this is when Wolf interviews for a job at a bank and the manager says, “Now you want to work at a bank?” Wolf responds, “Why not? Some of my best memories are at banks.” “You robbed us three times,” says the manager, eyes bulging and ears laid back and down.

Blu-ray.com has just announced that the Fred Ward action comedy — Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins — will see a new 4K Blu-ray release from Kino Lorber. A specific release date has not been announced, but the new physical media is expected to hit retailers sometime this year. Joining Ward in the film are Joel Grey, Kate Mulgrew & Wilford Brimley. The music is by Craig Safan. And the movie is directed by Guy Hamilton.
The Adventure Begins…and ends, with this, the lone big-screen adventure of Remo Williams, the veteran of well over a hundred pulp novels (published as “The Destroyer” series – written by Warren Murphy & Richard Sapir). This was an attempt by Dick Clark (of all people) and the then-fledgling Orion Pictures to launch their own James Bond-style series of adventures. All stories of stolen treasure are, at their foundation, stories about a void. The first season of The Gold showed us the solid object: its theft, its melting, its dispersal. The second season concerns itself with something far heavier—the half that vanished.
It is a narrative built around an absence, a gravitational phantom pulling everything into its orbit. We have lept forward into the 1990s, an era where the brutalist grit of the old decade gives way to a slicker, borderless world. This new landscape is the perfect place for a ghost to thrive.
The story moves beyond London’s confines, becoming a global pilgrimage of sin and consequence. We find John “Goldfinger” Palmer in Tenerife, a sun-bleached Icarus building a kingdom on a lie. We meet Charlie Miller, a man burdened with the physical weight of this mythical bullion.
And we watch Dcs Brian Boyce, a man condemned...

Roger Moore’s final 007 movie, 1985’s A View To A Kill, is a bit of a Marmite outing even for James Bond fans – but is the film in a class of its own?.
This feature contains moderate spoilers for A View To A Kill.
“Ha ha, you amuse me, Mr Bond.”
“It’s not mutual.”
In a series as long and variable in quality as the James Bond franchise, we all have our biases as fans. For many, the highly subjective distinction between “good film” and “good Bond film” might go in either direction towards the modern Daniel Craig films or the earliest Sean Connery adventures. And for some of us, it may just be that marathoning Roger Moore’s Bond films in order does A View To A Kill absolutely no favours in either category.
As expected at this stage, the film has very little in common with Ian Fleming’s 1960 short story,...

Before you know it, James Bond will return, this time under the watchful eye of Amazon MGM Studios, which now has full creative control of the franchise. The identity of the brave soul who will take on the mantle of MI6's legendary hero remains unknown, with rumors circulating about who is in the running, being considered, or has been looking remotely Bond-like while standing around in a tuxedo. Regardless of who secures the part, we can only imagine the extensive Bond binge-watching that will occur for them in order to delve into the character's psyche or perhaps even to avoid the missteps of previous portrayals that each delivered their own unique take on 007. The good news is they won't have to watch all 25 official Bond films, as six specific entries will suffice.

The attitude to spoilers appeared to be rather different in 1979, if magazine coverage of Moonraker, Alien and more are anything to go by…
Nb: The following contains spoilers for Moonraker and Alien. The irony is not lost on us.
It’s amazing what you can find just by browsing through old magazines: they’re a time capsule of information, cultural tastes and changing attitudes. And if a 1979 issue of Cinefantastique is anything to go by, they also give an idea of how entertainment writers used to handle the concept of plot spoilers.
A quarterly publication that specialised in sci-fi, fantasy and horror, Cinefantastique found itself in the middle of a vintage period for genre film at the end of the 1970s. The seismic impact of 1977’s Star Wars saw film studios clamour to release space-related films of their own, including 20th Century Fox’s Alien and Eon’s rushed-into-production James Bond sequel,...

With Amazon now in full control of the rights to James Bond, it's only a matter of time until the company franchises the world of Ian Fleming's secret agent into the ground. But while the future doesn't look too bright with real-life Bond villain Jeff Bezos in charge, it wasn't always like this. There was, in fact, a point where the announcement of new developments with the 007-sphere actually conjured some excitement, like when the property's 50th anniversary was on the horizon in 2012.

A special tribute to the music of James Bond will take place at the 97th Academy Awards this weekend, with longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson also getting to share the spotlight.
That the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences is honoring James Bond, the movies’ music and some of the most vital figures of the past few decades, comes at just about the worst possible time. As we all know, after exhaustive legal and creative battles, Amazon took full control of the 007 franchise to the tune of $1 billion, removing both Broccoli and Wilson of their creative control. To quote Douglas Adams, “This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.”

Flaunting more leather and latex than a specialty shop off Times Square in the 1970s, Reflection in a Dead Diamond (Reflet dans un diamant mort) is another gory, glammy, eyes-glazing-over feature from French directors Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani.
Indeed, both the ’70s and ’60s are eras from which the avant-garde duo have always mined their material, basking in the excesses of Italian giallo horror flicks, Z-grade Spaghetti westerns and other cult items in their arthouse rehashes, which include Let the Corpses Tan and The Strange Color of Your Body’s Tears. The pair’s latest plays like a forgotten Franco-Italian James Bond ripoff that’s dropped too many tabs of acid, then been slapped with a hard-r rating for its abundance of stabbings, slashings and other kinds of twisted desecrations of the human flesh.

Sean Connery was a straight talker, sometimes to a fault. He didn't hold back when laying out his low opinion of the literary James Bond. He never restrained himself when discussing how the role that made his career was somewhat of a double-edged sword, at one point claiming that he "always hated that damn James Bond" and that he'd "like to kill him." Plus, as "Goldfinger" director Guy Hamilton revealed on the banned James Bond commentary tracks, Connery didn't stop himself from providing opinions on individual story beats, at one point calling the moment where Oddjob (Harold Sakata) crushes a golf ball with his bare hands "ridiculous" and claiming it would never make the final cut. (It did.)
That last example points to Connery's ongoing distaste for the more fanciful elements of James Bond. Despite "Goldfinger" being responsible for some of the more outlandish Bond trademarks, such as the high-tech...

In 1953, Ian Fleming's novel Casino Royale debuted one of the most recognizable secret agents: James Bond. Since Fleming's thrilling tales began their on-screen adaptations with the release of Dr. No in 1962, Bond headed one of the most successful and long-running franchises in cinema history. Spawning 27 movies and TV shows starring seven generations of actors taking on the classic role, fans young and old are drawn to the character's cool, confident, and charming disposition in the face of danger. Additionally, through increasingly high-stakes action, cutting-edge gadgets, and 007's glamorous lifestyle, the character provides viewers with an intoxicating escapism. Bond's life of consistently overcoming bad guys and living in luxury often seems too good to be true. Well, maybe some of it is.

It's rare for the third installment of a movie franchise to be considered especially good, but a rare few are able to break the boundaries of expectation, becoming the best entry in their respective series. Threequels usually have a hard time living up to expectations, often billed as the epic conclusion to a trilogy that isn't able to ultimately fulfill its promises. Infamous movies like the terrible The Godfather Part III give third installments a nasty reputation, but some of them manage to stand out as the best in the business.
Threequels that work as the best installment of their given trilogies or movie series are able to finely hone the formula of their franchise over the course of the previous two films, resulting in an expertly crafted experience. Some serve as gripping finales as well, rounding out a set of three with grace and tact. Even if they may not have the best reputation,...

James Bond is a mid-ranking civil servant on a modest government salary, so it’s not entirely clear how he manages to afford his lavish lifestyle. In Live and Let Die, Roger Moore’s Bond is shown to live in a giant, luxurious mansion. In No Time to Die, Daniel Craig’s Bond goes on a vacation to Matera and retires to a lovely villa in sunny Jamaica. He seems to be pretty wealthy, but the government doesn’t pay its intelligence agents anywhere near as much as the BBC pays its top presenters, so how does 007 afford this stuff?
Between Ian Fleming’s source material and a few details mentioned throughout the movies, Bond’s salary and expensive lifestyle have been explained. The monetary revelations in the books have to be adjusted for inflation, since Fleming began writing them in the 1950s, but they do give a clear idea...

As Hollywood continues to search for the next James Bond after Daniel Craig's departure following No Time To Die, casual and hardcore fans will be surprised to learn that a producer has appeared in more 007 movies than any one actor. Indeed, Michael G. Wilson, who has been a franchise mainstay since 1964, has played various background characters more often than Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig have portrayed the title character.
Whether briefly appearing as a background character or delivering dialog in a speaking role, spotting Wilson in 17 James Bond movies is an amusing trivia challenge sure to stump even the most knowledgeable Bond fanatics. As Challengers' Josh O'Connor continues to be the new betting favorite to become the next Agent 007, chronicling Michael G. Wilson's 57-year career in the James Bond movie franchise is up next.

Spanning six decades and counting without ever leaving the conversation in any kind of significant way, Eon's James Bond series is the best movie franchise in history. Based on Ian Fleming's books about a British gentleman spy, the series at its best aims, first and foremost, to entertain. Bond films are sometimes bombastic, sometimes a little more grounded. Sometimes their plots are rather simple; often they're endearingly convoluted. This is a series largely defined by screen spectacle, and thrilling scenes that stay in the zeitgeist. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger's North American release (the film is often considered the series' gold standard), this is a countdown of the most iconic, heart-pounding, sometimes quite funny or sexy scenes that have made Bond a pop-culture giant without peer. These are the greatest moments in all of Bond movie history, full stop.

A new James Bond casting report reveals that producers Barbara Broccoli and Gregg Wilson are facing a creative dispute over the direction of the next 007 and Bond villain.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Wilson has reportedly been more open to the idea of casting a person of color, a gay man, or a woman. While Broccoli has no objection to casting a nonwhite or gay actor, she remains adamant that Bond should be played by a British man. The next Bond villain also presents a creative challenge. During a time when the ultra-wealthy wield unprecedented power, some suggest a billionaire autocrat would make the best Bond villain, but Broccoli believes they've done that before.

The following contains spoilers for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, now playing in theatersSonic The Hedgehog 3's soundtrack is a mix of fun rock, new tracks, and deep-cuts to the history of game franchise. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is in many ways a love letter to the game series, especially Sonic Adventure 2. There are lots of little references to the history of the games found throughout the film, ranging from little easter eggs to instrumental themes. This element can also be felt throughout the film's music choices, which perfectly fit Sonic the Hedgehog 3's cast of characters and help lighten up some of the film's darker moments.

The comedy genre underwent a lot of change in the 2010s, and the roles of villains started to shift too. As opposed to the optimistic, broad comedies that dominated the 2000s, many of the best comedy movies of the 2010s are rather dark and cynical. This change meant that a lot of comedies went without villains in the 2010s, choosing to explore anti-heroes, villain protagonists, or stories without clear man vs. man conflict.
Despite the changes in the comedy genre, there are still some great villains from the 2010s who stand out. In some cases, these villains aren't supposed to be funny, but they create tension and conflict which brings the best out of the hero. The days of Dr. Evil, White Goodman and Jacobim Mugatu faded before the 2010s, but the decade still produced a few hilarious movie villains.

The debate over what is the single best entry in the James Bond franchise is certainly a contentious one, as there are defenders for nearly every single entry in the series. While some fans may appreciate the broad, action-centric sensibilities of The Spy Who Loved Me or GoldenEye, others may enjoy the sillier, more over-the-top version of the character that is best embodied by You Only Live Twice or Live and Let Die. Although there are many film fans obsessed with the series who consider themselves to be experts, the only people who truly know the character like the back of their hand are those who have personally played 007. While he starred in five films that were generally very well received, Daniel Craig stated that Goldfinger is his favorite James Bond movie.

James Bond 26 odds for who will next play 007 have been updated, putting a new contender front and center. 60 years ago, Sean Connery's only James Bond movie that didn't involve his secret agent battling Spectre premiered, and it became his most popular 007 outing. Sean Connery starred in 6 James Bond movies from 1962's Dr. No to 1971's Diamonds Are Forever, although George Lazenby became 007 in 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service when Connery quit James Bond. All of those Bond movies involved Spectre as the villainous organization 007 battled, except for 1964's Goldfinger.

Goldfinger is a fascinating time capsule of spy cinema in the 1960s and what the actors had to fill in place of the lacking visual effects. Casual misogyny and somehow delivering the name...

Watching The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare has made me excited about James Bond 26 for its historical potential. In the realm of espionage, the 1960s stand as a golden era. A time when martini-sipping agents navigated a world of Cold War intrigue and technological marvels. Yet, in recent years, the James Bond franchise has strayed from this classic aesthetic, venturing into more contemporary settings. I think a return to the past could, while not the wildest Bond prediction, breathe new life into the iconic spy.
Inspired by the true story of the Special Operations Executive (Soe) and their daring missions during World War II, Guy Ritchie's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare offers a glimpse into another bygone era, the 1940s. While the film may not have been a box office sensation, it showcases the potential of a period-piece Bond adventure. By exploring the early days of MI6 and introducing a key villain from Bond's history,...

What do you get when you cross a glossy all-star business drama with a kinky Italian horror flick, a German crime procedural, and “Fiddler on the Roof?” That insane mix may sound too good to be true, but it’s not — it’s a movie that actually exists. It’s called “Bloodline,” it was released by Paramount in 1979, and after years of intermittent accessibility on home video, it’s now available in a beautiful Blu-ray edition from the boutique label Vinegar Syndrome.
At the time of its release, “Bloodline” wasn’t a success by any criteria, but it was a major release thanks to an international cast consisting of Audrey Hepburn, Ben Gazzara, James Mason, Romy Schneider, Omar Sharif, Beatrice Straight (just a few years after her Oscar-winning turn in “Network”), Irene Papas and others. The fact that it was based on a novel by bestselling author Sidney Sheldon — who...

When it was released, Spectre struck many a James Bond fan as a disappointment. It was coming on the heels of the phenomenal Skyfall, and even shared a director with that box office juggernaut, and had an odd take on Blofeld. But, there are aspects that work, including the opening and the non-traditional "Bond Girl" role for Monica Bellucci.
While on the promotional tour for Tim Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Bellucci sat down with Vanity Fair and was asked about a few of her past roles. Considering she was 50 when director Sam Mendes reached out to her, Bellucci thought it would be for the role of M, a role played in Skyfall (and throughout Pierce Brosnan's tenure as well as Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace) by Dame Judi Dench. But, no, it was for a "Bond Woman," and Bellucci marked the oldest of that iconic group, eclipsing Goldfinger's Honor Blackman,...

The James Bond movies may be one of the UK's most famous cultural exports, but their presentation of the espionage world is far from accurate. 007 was first introduced in the books by Ian Flemming, who based the iconic character on an amalgamation of the secret agents he encountered while working in the Naval Intelligence Division during World War II. One difference between the source material and the subsequent movie adaptations is that the books included minimal use of the spy gadgets and gimmicks that would become one of on-screen Bond's trademarks.
While real-world spies have been known to use surveillance tools disguised as mundane objects such as the Kgb's famous shoe transmitter the James Bond films showcase some especially spectacular inventions. By the time Roger Moore took over the James Bond movies, there began to be a sense that gadgets had become excessive. With the advent of Daniel Craig...

Spy spoofs like Austin Powers and Kingsman brought humor and fun back to the genre, poking fun at Bond movie tropes. Archer and Johnny English offer comedic takes on arrogant spies, creating characters that are both silly and endearing. Spoofs like The Tuxedo, Oss 117, and Carry On Spying blend action and humor to create memorable parodies of the Bond franchise.
From Get Smart to the Austin Powers trilogy, there are a ton of hilarious movies and TV shows out there that parody the James Bond franchise. With their goofy one-liners, far-fetched gadgets, and nonsensical villain plans, the Bond movies are an easy target for parody. They even became a sort of self-parody during the Roger Moore years. A movie like Moonraker is so ridiculous on its own that its difficult to make fun of.
A bunch of different movies and TV shows have spoofed the Bond franchise. Archer satirizes Bonds arrogance and self-centeredness.

Michelle Yeoh was set to return to the James Bond franchise in Die Another Day - a rare feat for Bond girls. Yeoh turned down the cameo, maintaining the tradition of Bond girls rarely appearing in multiple movies. Her decision was likely the right choice, as a small role in the criticized Die Another Day may have hindered her career.
Michelle Yeoh very nearly returned to the James Bond franchise, and her comeback would have achieved a feat only two actors have managed across all James Bond movies. Michelle Yeoh joined the James Bond franchise as Wai Lin in 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies, and entering the pantheon of so-called "Bond girls" immediately propelled her to the international stage. Ska-punk favorites Goldfinger and Less Than Jake have combined to cover Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s #1 collaborative single, “I Had Some Help.” Listen below.
The cover is mostly a faithful rendition of the original, save for some added horns and a bit more pop-punk urgency from Goldfinger’s John Feldmann and Less Than Jake’s Chris DeMakes. The two groups have toured together frequently, but have never hopped on a song together — and like Posty and Morgan Wallen, they seem to have captured the yin and the yang of “I Had Some Help.”
“I’ve been with my wife for 28 years, and I can sooo relate to this song! My kids haven’t stopped listening to it since it came out,” John Feldmann said in a statement. “I felt like I needed to do a cover with my friends in Less Than Jake! We’ve been close for decades...

Villains are crucial in defining Bond movies - casting the right antagonist can shape the tone of Bond 26. Actors must embody the tone and traditions of Bond villains, with some being better suited to the role than others. Bond 26 can either play it safe with an established villain actor or take a risk by making a daring choice.
Although casting the new 007 for Bond 26 remains the most important decision facing the franchise, choosing the right villain could ultimately prove to be equally vital. Bond villains are one of the franchise's most beloved traditions, and they often come to define their movies. It's no coincidence that Goldfinger and Skyfall are considered among the best Bond movies, since Auric Goldfinger and Raoul Silva are also among the best Bond villains. Choosing Bond's antagonist will help shape the tone of Bond 26.
It takes a special kind of actor to play a compelling Bond villain.

Secret agents going rogue is such a common trope that sometimes we wish that people like Ethan Hunt or Jason Bourne would just follow their orders for change. When Daniel Craig started playing James Bond in 2006, it seemed like Bond went rogue on nearly every single mission, including most of Quantum of Solace, at least half of Skyfall, and basically, the first two-thirds of No Time To Die. Pierce Brosnan’s Bond went rogue in Die Another Day, too, with a full beard and no shirt, declaring “I’m checking out” from a hospital. And of course, Connery’s Bond was on an unsanctioned revenge mission at the start of Diamonds Are Forever.
But the most compelling Bond-goes-rogue movie of them all to this day remains Licence to Kill, which in 1989, would become the unintended swan song from Timothy Dalton’s fierce take on the character.

Goldfinger (1964) is the highest-rated James Bond film on Rotten Tomatoes with a near-perfect score of 99%. The movie is considered iconic for its action sequences, performances, and instant classic scenes. Goldfinger is considered the quintessential Bond film, setting the template for all subsequent installments.
Throughout its history, the James Bond franchise has had highs and lows, and according to Rotten Tomatoes, the best entry in the franchise was released exactly 60 years ago. Based on Ian Fleming's James Bond books, the 007 series began way back in 1962 with the release of Dr. No. Since then, there have been a further 25 installments, all of which have varied in quality.
Over the past six decades, the Bond films have continually proven to be commercially successful. Altogether, the 25 official movies have a combined worldwide box office total of just under $7.7 billion (via The Numbers), and with Bond 26 on the way, that amount is only set to increase.

The role of James Bond is one of the most iconic in cinema. Many actors have taken on the role, and the anticipation of a new Bond is always an exciting part of the development process. Everyone has their favorite Bond, but it is hard to argue that Sean Connery is still, to this day, the definitive James Bond. Originating the role. Connery set the template for every future Bond to follow and either try and replicate or distance themselves from. 1962's Dr. No, in a white tux and cigarette in his mouth, when Connery said "the names Bond, James Bond," an icon was born.

James Bond isn’t just another name. It’s an entire legacy on its own. Stemmed from Ian Fleming’s novels, the British secret agent quickly became a household name, and eventually, a huge part of the film industry. Seven actors have had their turn of bringing the character to life but it all started with Sean Connery all the way back in 1962.

Saw 11 is not going to be arriving as soon as previously thought. The film was originally set to drop on Sept. 27, but it's been pushed back to Sept. 26, 2025. Billy the Puppet personally confirmed the news in a video shared online.
"You've all anticipated my return asking when I may appear before you once more but anticipation is a funny thing," the puppet said in the post, adding that he and his associates are hard at work refining "new traps to razor sharp perfection." He added, "You should expect nothing less. These traps will be made all the better with just a little time. The clock is ticking." Also brandished is the new release date at the end of the video.

The James Bond franchise has been a staple of Hollywood action filmmaking for well over six decades. With 27 films based on the character and updates of a new actor (maybe Aaron Taylor-Johnson?) taking on the role hopefully coming soon, the Bond franchise has shown no signs of slowing down. Each actor who has occupied the main role has done something new with the character, but part of the series’ success has been its ability to pull off shocking twists and turns. The History: The Adventure Begins…and ends, with this, the lone big-screen adventure of Remo Williams, the veteran of well over a hundred pulp novels (published as “The Destroyer” series – written by Warren Murphy & Richard Sapir). While people may laugh at the attempt now, they definitely had reason to think this could work, with the brain trust at Orion the...
