BBC investigators found evidence that supported claims of verbal bullying and harassment. However, accusations of physical aggression could not be proven.

While not all aspects of Abbington’s account were fully validated, she sees the partial findings as vindication for not just her own mistreatment but for other past contestants who shared distressing stories. The BBC hopes new protections established since will prevent future participants from enduring a similar ordeal.

Abbington’s complaints initially faced intense backlash online, with threats made against her. She maintained that speaking out was important to protect others.

When fans watch America's Got Talent, they want to enjoy the incredible acts, argue with the wealthy judges, and hope that their favorite winners become wildly successful. What fans of the reality TV competition show don't want to have to think about is the rules competitors have to follow or why winners don't actually get $1 million. Worse yet, fans don't want to worry about serious accidents that could happen.

Former America’s Got Talent: Extreme reality show contestant Jonathan Goodwin has filed a lawsuit claiming lax safety standards on the show led to an accident that nearly killed him and left him a paraplegic.

The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Named as defendants were Fremantle Media North America and its production arm, Syco Entertainment, Marathon Productions, and NBCUniversal, among others.

In October 2021, the TV production was at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. Goodwin was involved in a stunt wherein he was supposed to escape while wearing a straightjacket and suspended 20-40 feet in the air between two cars. The stunt called for him to remove the jacket before the cars hit each other head-on.

Instead, Goodwin was crushed between the two cars as the stunt went wrong, causing an explosion on the set and burning Goodwin. He was rushed to the hospital and production was paused.

After three months and 18 episodes, “America’s Got Talent” finally has its top 20 semifinalists. This score of talent will now face off against each other in two live shows on September 8 and 15. Only 10 will make it through to the “Agt” 2020 final on September 22. America’s Got Talent wrapped its Season 15 quarterfinals on Wednesday, solidifying which 20 acts will proceed to the semifinals next week.

Let’s start, as always, with the good news: singer/pianist Kenadi Dodds, guitar duo Broken Roots and spoken-word poet Brandon Leake received the most votes, immediately sending them to safety. They were later joined by singer Celina Graves, the winner of this week’s Dunkin’ Save, as well as acrobatic trio Bello Sisters, who earned the final spot of the evening thanks to the judges’ benevolent mercy.

Wednesday’s episode of America’s Got Talent sent five more acts through to the Season 15 semifinals, crushing a handful of dreams in the process.

Let’s start with the good news: Voices of Our City Choir, Bad Salsa and Daneliya Tuleshova were all voted through by the viewers at home. Congratulations are also in order for Spyros Brothers, the winner of this week’s Dunkin’ Save, as well as Jonathan Goodwin. When he and fellow in-danger act Alexis Brownley received the same number of judges’ votes, it came down to America’s votes, which sent Goodwin through.

For the past week, “America’s Got Talent” viewers have been making their predictions for which acts from the August 18 Quarterfinals will advance to the next round, and which ones will be eliminated. Five will make it through during Wednesday’s results show based on a mix of America’s overnight votes, the Dunkin’ Save the the judges’ pick. That means six acts are about to have their dreams shattered on NBC’s reality TV show.

Based on our readers’ odds, things are looking good for these five acts: dance duo Bad Salsa, teen singer Daneliya Tuleshova, child singer Kelvin Dukes, diabolo duo Spyros Brothers and Terry Crews‘ Golden Buzzer, Voices of our City Choir.

That means the other six acts are in danger of going home, according to our users’ elimination predictions.

Eleven more acts returned to the America’s Got Talent stage on Tuesday for another round of (mostly) live performances. But will the voters be as easy to win over as super-soft guest judge Kenan Thompson?
