One Piece: Loki’s Childhood Has Finally Given Us a Missing Character Archetype
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers for One Piece chapter 1153.

The depiction of King Harald’s past in the latest spoilers of One Piece chapter 1153 has cleared a lot of things about the royal family of Elbaph. From Harald’s ruthlessness to Hajrudin’s mother, the flashback has truly added a lot of different aspects that make the One Piece story even more interesting. One such aspect that fans cannot stop talking about is Loki’s mother.

The Harald flashback also points out details about Loki’s mother, Estrid, whose actions have created a lot of dramatic twists in the series. The biggest one among them is definitely the fact that Eiichiro Oda has finally tapped into a character archetype that has been more or less missing from the One Piece story.

This character archetype is the villainous mother, an antagonistic role that is reflected through Estrid’s heinous actions after Loki was born.

It’s Criminal How Badly Oda Nerfed a Yonko in One Piece and We Are Not Talking About Whitebeard
Image
Nerfing is quite common in Shonen and Eiichiro Oda’s series is no different. Several characters in the One Piece series were sidelined through nerf. But sometimes it doesn’t make sense especially when it comes to characters with god-tier abilities. This time, it has to do with a Yonko and it isn’t Whitebeard.

This Pirate lived up to the terror and horror in every sense. The nerf, however, was unjustified as it diluted the aura and reduced their notoriety to a joke. But everything is not as it seems, especially with how the mangaka wrote the character. It symbolizes terror and fear in every sense.

The Yonko who couldn’t surf the nerf in One Piece

Yonko or the Four Emperors of the Sea, as we all know, are powerful pirates in the One Piece series.

One Piece Reveals Elbaph’s Ancient Connection to Sun Gods
Image
Nika, the sun god, is an important aspect of One Piece. Every arc since his introduction has added to his lore in some way. He's revered by several groups, including slaves, Buccaneers and Giants from Elbaph. Monkey D. Luffy has the greatest claim to being a modern-day version of the sun god, because his Gum Gum Fruit is actually the Human Human Fruit Model Nika.

However, he's not the only person who has been called the Sun God. Three other characters relevant to Elbaph have all claimed the title in some way. Mother Caramel's being called Nika relates to her reputation on Elbaph. Road was using the name to live out his fantasies. The Accursed Prince Loki also calls himself the sun god, and there's plenty more to learn about him.

There Are Way Too Many Sun Gods in Elbaph Many Interpretations of Nika

Mother Carmel didn't call herself the Sun God,...

This Underrated One Piece Fight is More Relevant than Fans Realize
Image
The Wano arc both resolved many of the plot threads in One Piece and introduced some of the important ideas for the Final Saga. Fights like Monkey D Luffy vs Kaido or Sanji's and Zoro's battles have been widely praised for the hype they generated, the incredible animation and the introduction of new elements to explore for each character. However, some of the more minor fights in the series haven't gotten nearly the attention despite how important they still are. Jinbe thoroughly defeated Who's-Who when the two fought, but that battle brought up many important ideas to the series. It shares some of the very first information about Nika. That alone cements it as relevant through the end of the anime.

Who's-Who is an interesting character with a unique backstory, but compared to King's history as a lunarian, he's simply not as eye-catching as some of the other foes in the arc.

What Big Mom's Comeback Could Mean in One Piece's Elbaph Arc
Image
If a character in One Piece hasn't had a confirmed death, then there's no reason they can't come back into the story in some fashion. This has happened again and again with antagonists like Buggy the Clown and Rob Lucci. While the Four Emperors may be a sort of final boss for the arcs they are in, they aren't necessarily exempt from this rule. As of this point in the manga, neither Big Mom nor Kaido have been confirmed dead, and Big Mom has promised she'll be returning. Kaido, on the other hand, has no interest in fighting again now that he's finally found someone who can beat him.

Big Mom has been involved in the post time skip story of One Piece for almost as long as it's been going on. She first showed up during the Fishman Island arc, and that's when the Straw Hats made an enemy out of her.

What’s Real in ‘Woman of the Hour,’ Anna Kendrick’s New Movie About the ‘Dating Game’ Killer
Image
The Netflix film Woman of the Hour tells the based-on-real-events story of serial murderer Rodney Alcala — better known as “The Dating Game Killer” — who appeared on the primetime game show in 1978, in the midst of a spree of violent attacks and murders of women. Anna Kendrick directs and stars in the film as Sheryl Bradshaw, an aspiring actor and Dating Game contestant who selected Alcala (Daniel Zovatto) as the winning bachelor on the show, but, like her real-life counterpart Cheryl Bradshaw, gets out of the encounter alive. Alcala died in...

10 Darkest Villains in One Piece
Image
With over 30 arcs, One Piece has featured a gargantuan number of villains for the Straw Hat Pirates to fight. Dozens of rival pirates and Marines have stood between Monkey D. Luffy and his dream of becoming King of the Pirates. Many of the threats the Straw Hats have faced are more lighthearted and comedic, especially early on in their adventures, but there's little to laugh about regarding the series' true evils.

One Piece has a bright and vibrant world, but its most dangerous villains are dark and ruthless. Be they nation-conquering pirates, rich and powerful members of the government, or a personal nightmare for one of the Straw Hats, there are few lines the most depraved monsters in the series haven't crossed. The series isn't over, and there still remain villains who fans don't know much about, but for now, these villains such as Akainu and Blackbeard stand as some...
