His hiring fills a vacancy left by CEO Jeremy Boreing, who stepped down from the company back in March and had previously set the course for its entertainment programming. Richards is now expected to work out of the company's Nashville headquarters and spearhead the company's further expansions beyond the political punditry and news spheres. The film directed by Justin Folk features conservative author and podcaster Matt Walsh going undercover to infiltrate Dei seminars, dinners and the like. Exclusive: After becoming the highest-grossing documentary at the U.S. box office in the past six years, the Daily Wire’s breakout feature Am I Racist? has been set for an October 28 streaming launch on the platform.

Directed by Justin Folk, the film sees conservative commentator and Daily Wire contributor Matt Walsh “investigating diversity, equity and inclusion practices, exposing absurdities through undercover social experiments.”

To date, the film has grossed more than $12M at the theatrical box office after launching in theaters nationwide on September 13, debuting in the top five films in the country on its opening weekend.

The pic, playing in 4,575 theaters domestically, fell just 54 percent for a 10-day domestic total of $188 million. Overseas, the sequel took in another $28.7 million from 76 markets for a lukewarm foreign tally of $76.3 million and $264.3 million globally.

Blumhouse and Universal’s new horror-thriller Speak No Evil was also good news for the early fall box office. The pic opened in second place with an estimated $11.5 million from 3,375 locations against a budget of just $15 million before marketing. Exclusive: Main cast has been revealed for The Daily Wire’s adventure series The Pendragon Cycle, which is currently filming in Europe.

Set to star alongside previously announced newcomer Tom Sharp as Merlin, are actress-turned conservative commentator and YouTuber Brett Cooper (Heathers), who hosts DailyWire+ show The Comments Section, Rose Reid (Finding You), and newcomer James Arden.

Cooper will play Ganieda, the future wife of Merlin. Reid, who is also a writer on the series, will play the female lead character, Charis. Arden will portray Taliesin, the title character of book one of the series on which the project is based.

Also starring in the drama will be Myles Clohessy, Finney Cassidy, Alex Laurence Phillips, Flo Thompstone, Emree Franklin, Duran Fulton Brown, Daniel Considine, Bertie Newman, George Prentice, and Alex Arco.

Newcomer Tom Sharp has been cast as the lead in the right-wing media company’s biggest-canvas film or TV project to date.

The seven-episode drama is a reimagining of the myth of King Arthur, set at the end of Roman Britain when pagan tribes warred with Saxon and Pict invaders, and with each other. Sharp will play Merlin, the son of an Atlantean princess and the bard, Taliesen, who pursues his father’s vision of a ‘Kingdom of Summer’ — a Briton unified in peace. To achieve this dream, Merlin will have to overcome ancient evils and navigate both the fall of the Roman occupation and the rise of Christianity in search of a king who can unite the Island of the Mighty.

Exclusive: The Daily Wire’s streaming service DailyWire+ is lining up a September start in Europe for what it is calling its biggest-budget production to date, a fantasy series inspired by Arthurian legend.

Daily Wire Co-CEO Jeremy Boreing will take a temporary leave of absence from the right wing media organization to direct the seven-episode series, which has long been a passion project of his.

Boreing will co-direct with Ryan Whitaker (Surprised By Oxford). The “multinational” cast is being finalized with filming due to take place in Italy and Hungary.

She joined Twitter in June 2022 and was appointed as head of trust and safety in November, replacing Yoel Roth who resigned after Elon Musk took over.

According to reports, her departure coincides with the platform’s ongoing challenges in retaining advertisers, primarily due to concerns from brands about their association with inappropriate content.

Conservative outlet the Daily Wire claimed on Thursday that Twitter “cancelled a deal” for them to make its film, ‘What is a Woman?’ available on the micro-blogging platform for free.

“Twitter cancelled a deal with @realdailywire to premiere ‘What is a Woman?’ for free on the platform because of two instances of misgendering,” posted Jeremy Boreing, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Daily Wire.

Exclusive: Convicting a Murderer, the docuseries response to Netflix’s popular true crime series Making a Murderer, has found a streaming home with DailyWire+, the SVOD platform of right-wing media company The Daily Wire.

The ten-part series, which has been six years in the making, is due to launch in summer 2023 with firebrand commentator Candace Owens narrating and fronting the project.

Directed by Shawn Rech, the series will re-examine the story of Steven Avery, who served 18 years in prison after a wrongful conviction for sexual assault and attempted murder, but was later convicted of the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach.

The Emmy-winning Netflix series was a ratings and critical hit but also drew fire from some corners, including prosecutor Ken Kratz who claimed that key evidence from the trial was omitted from the documentary.

Far-right YouTuber Steven Crowder has kicked off a public feud with The Daily Wire after the right-wing news outlet approached him with a measly four-year contract offer worth a pitiful 50 million, and some fiduciary obligations on his part.

On Tuesday, Crowder launched the “Stop Big Con” initiative and accused “conservative media giants” of being “no better than Big Tech” and putting profit over the honest defense of conservative values.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Crowder described a period of “free agency” following his departure from The Blaze in December.

One of the biggest box office failures of 2022 was “Terror on the Prairie,” the Ben Shapiro-produced Western starring Gina Carano. It marked Carano’s first major role since being fired from “The Mandalorian” over a series of social media posts that many viewed as antisemitic. The film only grossed 804 during its one-day theatrical run despite any star power that the actress might have on the political right.

The film was intended to be part of The Daily Wire’s stated strategy of making films that entertain audiences without what they see as overt messaging, but without being explicitly conservative either.

“We’re making entertainment-first content, challenging content, adult content,” Daily Wire co-founder and -CEO Jeremy Boreing said of the company’s film strategy in a recent interview with IndieWire.” The two things that will distinguish [a Daily Wire film] is the fact that it broadly speaks to values that conservatives are aligned on — not strictly conservative values.

Exclusive: Conservative media firm The Daily Wire has optioned exclusive film and TV series rights to develop and produce an adaptation of Ayn Rand’s dystopian 1957 novel Atlas Shrugged, the author’s most heralded work.

The company is planning to produce a series adaptation for distribution on its streaming platform, Dailywire+. Daily Wire co-ceo Jeremy Boreing just announced the deal in a livestreamed town hall address.

The Daily Wire, the conservative media outlet founded by Ben Shapiro, has hired a Disney veteran to help grow its subscription streaming business.

The company has tapped Eric Caballero as its new CMO, overseeing all marketing for the company, particularly as it continues to invest in the entertainment business, arguing that legacy companies like Disney have abandoned their family-friendly roots.

Caballero most recently worked as VP in Disney’s media and entertainment distribution group.

Among other projects, Caballero will lead marketing for The Daily Wire+, the company’s streaming platform. While it includes politically-focused content from The Daily Wire as well as some other conservative programming, the company is moving further into entertainment, committing 100 million to produce kids and family fare, and expanding into original movies (including a Gina Carano led offering called Terror on the Prairie).

Chris Sonnenburg, an Emmy-winning showrunner for Disney series Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure, will serve as Senior VP of Animation Development and Production. He will oversee a team of writers and animators that include Eric Branscum and Ethan Nicolle. Also joining is David ‘Kentucky’ Coleman from Pure Imagination Studios as EVP of kids content.

The moves come soon after the firm launched streaming platform DailyWire+, and months after it announced a commitment of 100M into kids’ content to counter what it views as “woke” programming among studios.
