Warning: Contains Spoilers for Quantum Leap episode 11The Quantum Leap revival is full of subtle and not-so-subtle nods to other shows and cultural reference points, but episode 11 featured a Stargate Easter egg that even eagle-eyed viewers may have missed. The Raymond Lee-led vehicle has so far featured trips to the 1930s, outer space, and everything in between. And yet, despite the lead's time-traveling exploits, it's arguably in the show's smaller moments that it is at its strongest.
Quantum Leap episode 11's Stargate Easter egg is no exception. In a move that will delight fans of the famous sci-fi franchise, Quantum Leap season 1 introduced a new character with tangential ties to Stargate's legacy. While the connection may be more tenuous than other more explicit genre homages, it builds on a trend already firmly established in the reboot – using characters and character names to link both to the original show and other well-known franchises.

Horror can be all about the jump scares, or all about the scares. Some though work at a more cerebral level and hits the emotions more. Lake Mungo is a horror that may be too subtle for some, but for others who like this kind of film it creates a truly chilling experience.
Filmed in a documentary style, Lake Mungo looks at the tragic drowning of sixteen-year-old Alice Palmer and how her family deal with her death. With the help of a parapsychologist, they uncover secrets she was hiding, and find Alice was being haunted by Lake Mungo.
In the film, we look at two things, that is the story of Alice herself and her family. With the family we look at how...

At the beginning of September, I was invited – along with a few others – to the Vancouver set of Stargate Universe. While you may have thought I was done posting on set interviews, I’ve got one more and it’s with Elyse Levesque.
During the interview, Levesque talks about all the changes her character (Chloe Armstrong) goes through during season two. In addition, we talked about filming on the incredible sets of the Destiny ship, what’s her process with getting scripts, and we even covered social media like Twitter and Facebook. It’s a very relaxed interview that was done in one of the Destiny hallways. Check it out after the jump:
Remember, Sgu now airs on Tuesday nights on Syfy. Check your local listings if you live outside the United States.
Finally, if you missed the other on set interviews I posted with the cast, here’s some...

Stargate Universe actor David Blue has admitted that he does not mind the fan speculation surrounding his character's relationship with Chloe Armstrong (Elyse Levesque). Blue, who plays Eli Wallace, told Ugo that he is pleased with viewer reaction to the potential romance. "I consider it a compliment that people ask [about that] every time, because that means people actually saw the connection that was... supposed to be there," he explained. He added that there is still hope for the couple, despite the introduction of a new love interest for Eli in the show's second season. "It's television, [so] you never (more)...

If you read Collider, you know we’re big fans of Syfy’s Stargate Universe (which now airs Tuesday night’s). Unlike the previous Stargate shows, Sgu is a lot darker and more intense. Already this season, Sgu has killed off a number of side characters and they’ve only aired three episodes.
Anyway, tonight’s episode of Sgu, titled Pathogen, was directed by Robert Carlyle. The logline is “The Destiny crew grows concerned when Chloe’s unusual behavior reveals possible Alien influence.” However, when I spoke to Carlyle at Comic-Con and on set last month, he revealed tonight’s episode is very Eli (David Blue) centric. He also said it was the first episode they filmed after getting back from hiatus.
Hit the jump to watch an exclusive video featuring Blue discussing being directed by Carlyle. You can also check out two exclusive images:

Lost in space, low on supplies and morale, ready for in-fighting to do them all in at any moment, the reluctant crew of the Defiant searches for a way home and a means to survive the far reaches of space. This is the overarching story of Stargate Universe. A different direction for the Stargate franchise, it’s the characters (and thusly, the performances) that bring this series to life. More after the jump:
Stargate Universe primer:
A coalition of science and military forces must find a way to not only co-exist, but survive, when they find themselves transported to an aged spacecraft (the Destiny) on the outer edges of space. This is what happens when you dial an extra chevron at a Stargate. Because of the distance separating Destiny and Earth, the crew uses communication stones that shift a person’s consciousness across the vast reaches of space. This gives...

The latest outing of "Stargate: Universe" presented exactly what fans had feared would happen from the very beginning: That an away team traveling through the Stargate wouldn't make it back in time for the Destiny to jump away.We already had it happen once when Dr. Rush (Robert Carlyle) was left for dead by Col. Young (Louis Ferreira). Now it seems to have happened again when several members of our valiant crew -- including Matthew Scott (Brian J. Smith), Eli Wallace (David Blue), Chloe Armstrong (Elyse Levesque) and Greer (Jamil Walker Smith) -- are trapped in an alien maze of caves. As they try to figure out their way out, the actors who play the brave characters share some of the secrets behind the most recent episode "Human" in this special behind-the-scenes look from Stargate.MGM.com."Stargate: ...

Now that SyFy’s “Stargate Universe” has returned with new episodes, how will the show progress in terms of human relationships aboard the Destiny and will the women of the ship step up? Check out these excerpts from an interview with Elyse Levesque on her character, Chloe Armstrong, the love triangle between her character, Lt. Scott, and Eli, and the role of the female characters on the lost Destiny.
Q: What can you say about Chloe’s storyline in the coming episodes?
Elyse Levesque: Without giving too much away, something happens in the first episode which really drastically affects her; it changes her. And we see her go through almost a bit of a personality change. We don’t see the full repercussion of the event on her until Season 2, actually, which we started filming. But we do see a bit of it come into play, and we’re...

Remember how Deep Space Nine was the game changer for the Star Trek series, taking the concept in a gritty, new direction? Stargate Universe sees that challenge and raises it. What a difference one measly chevron makes.
The best way to sum up Stargate Universe is the Bob Marley tune Buffalo Soldiers: “Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival”. For those that don’t speak rasta, understand that the plight of Stargate Universe is a gritty struggle wherein the winner gets to live another day. The heretofore unheard of ninth chevron dictates the shift of Stargate Universe. Previously in the Stargate universe, characters used eight chevrons to dial up a planet. In order to dial into this mysterious ninth chevron, the Stargate requires massive amounts of power. A team of scientists stationed off-world attempt to discern how to channel that planet’s energy into the Stargate to activate the ninth...

Sgu Stargate Universe, Syfy's controversial new entry in the Stargate franchise, was released last week on Blu-ray. Can the HD format bring to life a show that has so far failed to convince many fans of Stargate Sg-1 and Stargate Atlantis — including yours truly — that it is a worthy successor?
Regular readers of CinemaSpy.com will know that I keenly awaited the debut of Stargate Universe. Yet, after giving the premiere episode, 'Air', a 3.5 star rating, I progressively lost interest. After watching 'Life' (the ninth episode of the 10 that have aired so far) I decided I'd seen enough. Judging by the comments that accompanied this critique, I wasn't alone. If it hadn't been for a request from a media contact, I might not have bothered to watch the half-season finale, 'Justice'. Although I thought that episode was an improvement over 'Life', it's plot further convinced me that the talented creators...

Elyse Levesque plays Chloe Armstrong in Stargate Universe. The Canadian actor spent time as an international model before moving to Vancouver in 2006 to focus on her acting career. In conversation with CinemaSpy, Levesque talked about the dynamic among the cast members and how her character develops through the first season. All without spoiling any dramatic plot moments.
CinemaSpy: How familiar were you with the Stargate franchise before taking the role?
Elyse Levesque: I'd heard of it. Being in Vancouver, it's one of the biggest shows shot here. I'd heard a lot about it but I didn't follow it.
CinemaSpy: How does your character fit with the ensemble that makes up Stargate Universe?
Elyse Levesque: My character on the show is a young woman named Chloe Armstrong. She is the resident fish-out-of-water. She comes from a very different lifestyle than a lot of the other Destiny crewmembers. She's the...
