Manish Dayal is an American actor and burgeoning director who's had dynamic roles in film and television. He is best known for his role as Hassan Kadam in The Hundred Foot Journey (2014) opposite Helen Mirren, directed by Lasse Hallström, produced by Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey for DreamWorks.
In television, Manish plays Ash Patel, an engineer from Boston in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (2024) for AMC in its second season of the Norman Reedus spin off. In television, for 6 seasons Dayal starred as Dr. Devon Pravesh and began directing the medical drama, The Resident (2017-2023) for Fox and Disney. The TV series follows a group of doctors at Chastain Memorial Hospital as they face personal and professional challenges on a daily basis. Dayal began directing on the series during its 5th season and later went on to direct the medical drama's 100th landmark centennial episode. His short film Fifteen Years Later (2018) marked his directorial debut. Dayal also stars in the film, opposite Matt McGorry and Rachel Brosnahan.
