Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who rose to fame as the son on 1980s megahit The Cosby Show and had a prolific acting career that included series-regular slots on The Resident and Malcom & Eddie and was a Grammy-winning recording artist, died Sunday in a drowning accident while on a family vacation in Costa Rica. He was 54.

Costa Rican National Police told ABC News that Warner’s official cause of death was asphyxia. Police said he died near Cocles, a beach in Limon province, after being caught by a high current. He was found Sunday afternoon.

The Associated Press reported that the local police initially reported that Warner “was rescued by people on the beach.” But first responders from Costa Rica’s Red Cross found him without vital signs, and he was taken to the morgue.

After six seasons on Fox, the decision was made in 2023 to cancel the medical drama, The Resident. The show premiered in 2018 and garnered a decent following before its run was abruptly cut short. Prior to the show's cancellation, speculation was quite high, and The Resident featured atop the standings for shows which viewers wanted to save. That did not materialize at the time, but now, those conversations have been reignited.

Two years after its cancellation, co-creator Amy Holden Jones and executive producer Andrew Chapman recently spoke about what would have happened had the show persisted into a seventh season. Speaking in a conversation with TV Insider, Jones revealed that should a revival become a possibility, much of the show's cast are willing to return to their scrubs, saying,

Rachel Brosnahan and her husband Jason Ralph found love in 2013 on the set of a movie that many don’t know about. In fact, it was believed until recently that they met on the set of the series Manhattan. Brosnahan revealed during a 2022 interview with Town & Country Magazine that they met while filming I’m Obsessed With You: But You’ve Got to Leave Me Alone.

When the flagship series The Walking Deadended back in 2022, it had been running for 11 seasons and was on air for 12 years. The Walking Dead spin-off The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (you can read our review of the first season Here) has just revealed that the much-anticipated third season premieres Sunday, September 7th on AMC and AMC+.

The previous two seasons followed Daryl as he washed up, mysteriously, on the shores of France. He was eventually joined by his regular Walking Dead co-star Melissa McBride, who returned as fan favourite Carol. Season three takes our two heroes to Spain as they continue to fight the dead throughout Europe.

Recently, Reedus appeared in Len Wiseman’s John Wick spinoff, Ballerina. Check out this interview clip where he compared the polished action he had to try in that movie to his more rough-and-tumble antics on The Walking Dead.

In addition to Reedus, McBride, and Charrier, the show’s cast includes Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, Eriq Ebouaney, and Manish Dayal.

On Wednesday (April 23), the 41-year-old actor posted photos of his body transformation progress after he underwent AC surgery, which is an operation that repairs a shoulder that has been separated from the collarbone.

In the first photo, Manish posted himself 6 months post-op, showing himself smirking at the camera while shirtless. In the second photo, he showed himself in the midst of his recovery, wearing a large cast over his shoulder.

The first season then built a new premise around Daryl stuck in France and contemplating a new life with nun Isabelle and her “chosen one” nephew Laurent. However, when McBride then returned to the show for the second season, it’s clear the decision was made to then pivot back to the original concept, but set in Europe.

The Walking Dead viewers don’t always get what they want. But more often than not, Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier get what they need.

In the season finale of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol, Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride’s O.G. zombie-fighters finally escape France, but not exactly as they hoped. Heading into the hour, the fan-favorite duo were set to split from one another, as clutch rescue pilot Ash (Manish Dayal) couldn’t fit them both on his plane. Daryl decides to stay, despite Carol wanting to take his place in the sacrifice play. In the end, both of them get to stick around, thanks to the last gasps of the French autocrat army showing up right before takeoff.

Outgunned, Daryl briefly appears outnumbered until Carol shows up right in the nick of time to save his hide.

In the pre-season promotion for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol, Norman Reedus repeatedly said he believed the finale was the best hour of The Walking Dead that had ever been made. Inevitably, it isn’t, but it’s a shame because while it cannot compete with the likes of "The Grove "or "Terminus," it’s not a bad episode. “Au Revoir Les Enfant” (Goodbye Children) gives us some vastly needed closure and the promise of a better future.

When The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol producer and writer David Zabel sat down to work with the rest of the team on breaking season two, six words immediately leapt to mind: “We’ve got some work to do.”

With two out of six season two episodes now released, the titular heroes have yet to meet face to face. For anyone feeling impatient, you’ll have to blame air travel in the zombie apocalypse. As Zabel and the writers started chipping away at story beats to bring Carol (Melissa McBride) from Maine to France, it became clear that she would need at least one major detour along the way.

Enter: Greenland. In this week’s second episode, Carol’s trip to find Daryl (Norman Reedus) leaves the not-a-badass on a side quest of sorts, stopping for fuel over in Greenland. Carol and new pal/pilot Ash (Manish Dayal...

Doubt has always been a major issue for characters in The Walking Dead; doubt over the kills they’ve made; doubt over who to trust; doubt over raising a family in the post-apocalyptic world — doubts can control and torture. “Moulin Rouge,” the second episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol focuses on some of the doubts that surround Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). But by the end of the episode, it might be the audience left doubting.

At the Nest, in France, we find out that there is dissent in the ranks as some of the acolytes are losing hope in their promised salvation. Jacinta tells Losang (Joel de la Fuente) that people are starting to demand proof that kid-messiah Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) is the real deal, which requires him passing some kind of test that Losang is reluctant to push ahead with.

When it was announced that Melissa McBride was stepping away from The Walking Dead spinoff that she and Norman Reedus (as Daryl Dixon) were scheduled to lead, the reaction was fairly seismic. So when Carol (McBride) appeared in the final episode of season 1 of that spinoff, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, the collective joy of the fandom was palpable. And the news that she would co-lead season 2, now titled The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol (try fitting that on a key chain) rejuvenated a flagging fandom.

Thankfully, for all concerned, McBride’s Carol lives up to every expectation the audience put on her small but mighty shoulders. We spend much of the opening episode, "La Gentillesse des Étrangers," in her company as she tries desperately and unflinchingly makes her way to France, the unlikely where she learns Daryl was shipped. Daryl, meanwhile, is metaphorically and physically exactly where we left him.

Medical drama series The Resident found a new following after it began streaming on Netflix. Manish Dayal, who played Dr. Devon Pravesh, in all six seasons, hopes that the story can continue.

Speaking to TV Insider, Dayal shared his hopes for a revival or reboot in the future. "I would love it," the actor said when asked if he would be open to revisiting the character in a new project. "It would be great for all of us to reunite and come together in a spin-off or something like that. Seeing how The Walking Dead has done, it has been very creative. We would love to do it, and Im sure everyone would be down to play together again. It would be a lot of fun."
