The ladies of Danity Kane are reuniting after a five-year hiatus, but one key member will not be making her return.

D. Woods, real name Wanita Woodgette, will not be a part of the Danity Kane reunion, according to Us Weekly. She is currently working on solo projects and is booked through the next year.

"For the past couple of years, myself and the other Dk members have been working on other projects individually, such as music, film, television, theater and philanthropy and I have recently signed on to several projects that will have me committed for the next year. My latest single "Gold Mine" is now available everywhere!" she told the magazine. R&B girl group Danity Kane is officially reuniting.

Danity Kane's Aubrey O'Day took to Instagram on Saturday night to post a new promotional photo of the group, teasing fans with blurred versions of the image before revealing the full picture, writing, "Danity Kane is officially Back!"

The photo shows O'Day with her three of her four original bandmates: Shannon Bex, Aundrea Fimbres, and Dawn Richard. Noticeably absent from the photo is D. Woods, who has been pursuing a solo career. Rumors began swirling in May that the Diddy-created group would be reuniting when O'Day, Bex, Fimbres, and Richard were spotted having lunch together.

Earlier this week, photos surfaced of MTV's seating arrangement for tonight's Video Music Awards, showing seats set aside for the members of Danity Kane. An official announcement about Danity Kane's reunion will be made from the VMAs at 8:15pm E.S.T. on MTV.

Signed to Diddy's Bad Boy Records, Shannon Bex, Aundrea Fimbres, Aubrey O'Day, Dawn Richard, and D. Woods released two studio albums as Danity Kane: 2006's "Danity Kane" and 2008's "Welcome to the Dollhouse," both certified platinum.

The girl group broke up officially in early 2009, after months of turmoil beginning with Diddy kicking out O'Day and rumors circulating of Woods allegedly getting groomed for a solo career.

Since her headline-making photo spread for Playboy and her Las Vegas "Peepshow" production, Aubrey O'Day has been remaining quiet as she conjures up plans for a comeback. And with the help of her forthcoming Oxygen reality show, the former Danity Kane singer is intent on showcasing her return to the music scene. Perhaps taking a page from Lady Gaga, the starlet took to Twitter on New Year's Day to make a big announcement about her new series.

"Oh My lovely fans... My reality show on Oxygen is called 'All About Aubrey'!" she tweeted shortly after midnight.

With the reality show airing in the coming months, fans can expect to hear lots of new music from the 26-year-old songstress.

An info posted by Visa Myplash about Danity Kane working on a new album was proven untrue because the girl group's members, including Dawn Richard, have all been released from their contract with Bad Boy Records. It means that the band have officially broken up.

Richard's dismissal from the group was announced during "Making the Band 4: The Final Chapter" part 2 on April 23. Only Aubrey O'Day, D. Woods, Shannon Bex and Richard who were present at the show.

When asked why Aundrea Fimbres did not show up with them, O'Day said she had no clue about that matter. As of Bex, she revealed that Fimbres is a little more "sensitive" about what happened during the last episode of the TV show when she was booted by P. Diddy.

During the show, Diddy also gave his comment saying, "There will never be another Danity Kane unless it's these girls right here.

Despite break-up announcement, words have just emerged suggesting Danity Kane will enter recording booth for their next installment. Official website of Visa Myplash, a company which reportedly has a sponsorship deal with the popular girl group, posts an info that the group are in studio for a new album tentatively titled "From the Ashes".

P. Diddy previously had released four members of Danity Kane except Dawn Richard from a contract with Bad Boy Records. He made the announcement during "Making the Band 4: The Final Chapter" part 1 on April 16 with only Dawn and Aundrea Fimbres present.

No statement has been made by P. Diddy as well as Danity Kane's camp concerning the new album rumor. O'Day and Woods have been fired back in October 2008, while Bex walked out of the group on her own when she didn't show up with the group's remaining members on the set of "Making the Band" in January this year. Fimbres was kicked off from Danity Kane because "there is so many times [she] want to give up, want to quit," so Diddy said. With the withdrawal of O'Day, Woods, Bex and Fimbres, it means that Dawn Richard is the only remaining member of the popular girl group.

The season finale of "Making the Band 4" will show some of the tumultuous moments including the break up of Danity Kane and the struggle of DAY26 to record their debut album. The finale will be split up into two, the first which will air tonight, April 16 and the second that airs April 23 on MTV.

According to the press release, viewers will witness the members of Danity Kane coming together for the first time since their break-up and speaking to fans. Dawn Richard and Aundrea Fimbres will find out whether they will continue as a band under Bad Boy Records when P. Diddy reveals the fate of Danity Kane.

Also, DAY26 are faced with the dilemma of moving forward even if it means that they will do so without their band mate Q. Donnie Klang who is signed as a solo act will also make an appearance, talking about the next stage of his career.

Melody Thornton from The Pussycat Dolls reveals that though Danity Kane have split, the group may return as a musical duo. Opening up the possibility to MTV, Melody says that Dawn Richard, one of the two remaining members of Danity Kane, has worked with P. Diddy and another girl, whose name is yet to be disclosed.

"I know that Dawn is actually working with Puffy - and I probably shouldn't say it - and another girl, and they're going to do a group," Melody explains. "So, big ups to you, Dawn Richard! ... Kill it!"

Danity Kane have officially split after Shannon Bex refused to show up with Dawn Richard and Aundrea Fimbres during the making of MTV's "Making the Band 4" back in January. At that time, Dawn said, "As of right now, [Danity Kane doesn't exist]. It's devastating for me."

DAY26, the musical act handpicked by P. Diddy at the end of "Making the Band 4", reveal that they feel hurt when knowing Danity Kane have broken up. The band's member Qwanell Mosley a.k.a Que told MTV, "It hurt all of us, 'cause we were family."

Willie Taylor, another member of the band, meanwhile commented, "I think even with the Danity Kane situation, I think they kept things secret to the public." He then added, "So their breakup was a big surprise. That takes a lot to keep all that bottled up inside, and they exploded to the point they can never return."

On why Shannon Bex decided not to come to the set of "Making the Band 4" with Dawn Richard and Aundrea Fimbres, Willie shared that "Shannon wanted to be all five." He continued, "She wanted to be Danity Kane. She had a whole 'nother life.

Proving to have what it takes when it comes to curvy figure, the girls of Danity Kane go naked for a new anti-fur ad campaign for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
