5 Highest Grossing Movies of Michael B. Jordan, Ranked
Image
Michael B. Jordan is becoming a star that studios can totally rely on. His box office numbers have been impressive in the recent past, with the actor choosing projects with huge potential. His breakthrough into mainstream Hollywood was through the Rocky spinoff film, Creed. The film has now grown into a full-blown franchise and has grossed $663.8 million in total.

He played one of the most memorable Marvel villains in 2018’s Black Panther, opposite Chadwick Boseman. In 2025, he is making waves with the vampire genre film Sinners. All these films also contribute to the actor’s highest-grossing films.

Out of his five highest-grossing films, all five involve Ryan Coogler, with three being directed by the Black Panther director. While Black Panther: Wakanda Forever also featured Jordan, his role was too small for the movie to be added to this list.

5. Creed (2015) – $173.6 million

Creed was Ryan Coogler’s second film as writer-director,...

Michael B. Jordan Reveals What's Holding Back Creed 4
Image
Actor Michael B. Jordan, in a new video, breaks down some of his most iconic film characters, and, of course, that included his turn as Adonis, the son of Apollo Creed (the late Carl Weathers), in the Creedtrilogy. In the GQ sit-down posted to YouTube, Jordan talks about why a fourth Creed movie hasn’t hit the big screen.

So far, there are three Creed movies, beginning with Creed in 2015, followed by Creed II in 2018, and Creed III in 2023. “Yeah, the fourth one, eventually, not sure when, but we left the door open to build on that franchise,” Jordan said about a followup to Creed III.

“My thing is like, I don’t wanna make a movie just to make it, give it a little time to breathe, make people want it, miss it a little bit. And when the time is right, I’ll drop in and do another one,...

Adele told Stallone offer to buy his house was 'no deal' without Rocky statue
Image
Los Angeles, June 21 (Ians) Singer Adele is a huge ‘Rocky’ fan and when she recently made an offer to buy Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone’s mansion, she made it contingent that she keep the poolside statue of the fictional boxer.

According to ‘Deadline’, in a recent interview with ‘The Wall Street Journal’, Stallone said he wanted to keep the statue but the singer said, “‘That’s a no deal. That’s gonna blow the whole deal,'” with the actor adding, “She wanted the statue.”

Adele is seemingly a huge Rocky fan and when she recently made an offer to buy Sylvester Stallone’s mansion, she made it contingent that she keep the poolside statue of the fictional boxer.

Comic-Con: Creators’ Contracts and Controlling IP Focus of Zestworld Panel
Image
Click here to read the full article.

“The guy that delivers lunch makes more money on the movie than we do,” said writer and artist Jimmy Palmiotti, summing up the situation of comic book creators signing Hollywood deals that pay them little while corporations rake in billions.

The topic of creators getting a share of what they create was front and center Friday at Comic-Con during a panel titled “The Importance of Comic Creators Owning Their Own IP.”

The topic is very current, as earlier in the week The Hollywood Reporter exposed the very lopsided contracts writers and artists face when seeing the characters they create end up on screen.

“Comics produce some of the biggest franchises, and we’re not seeing creators participating at the level that they should,” said Chris Giliberti, the CEO and co-founder of upstart digital comics platform Zestworld, which hosted the panel.

Headlining the panel were Palmiotti and Amanda Conner,...

Creed III Gets a Holiday Friendly Release Date for 2022
Image
Creed III has been set for a Thanksgiving 2022 release with franchise star Michael B. Jordan directing the sequel. It had previously been reported that Jordan was in talks to helm the next installment of the Rocky spinoff series, as co-star Tessa Thompson and producer Irwin Winkler have both hinted at Jordan's directorial debut with Creed III. Now that MGM has dated the project for Thanksgiving 2022, the project is now officially a go at the studio.

Keenan Coogler and Zack Baylin are writing the script based on an outline by Ryan Coogler. Joining Jordan in the sequel as the titular boxing champion will be Thompson as his girlfriend Bianca and Phylicia Rashad as Adonis's stepmother Mary Anne Creed. It's unclear if Sylvester Stallone will also return as Rocky Balboa or if any other Creed or Rocky stars will be making appearances.

While Stallone's status concerning Creed III is up in the air,...

Dolph Lundgren Wants Michael B. Jordan to Direct Creed 3
Dolph Lundgren
As we all know good and well by this point in time, action movie extraordinaire, Dolph Lundgren recently reprised his classic Rocky IV role of Captain Ivan Drago in director Steven Caple Jr.'s Creed III alongside Michael B Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, and Tessa Thompson. But is the Masters of the Universe star up for returning as Drago if Creed 3 steps into the ring? Lucky it seems that not only would Lundgren loved to return as The Siberian Express but he thinks none other than Michael B. Jordan should direct the third film.

Dolph Lundgren was recently at Celebrity Fan Fest and spoke a bit about the possibility of returning as Drago in Creed 3, saying this.

"I've heard things about a Creed 3. I think Drago is in it somehow. I heard Michael B. Jordan wants to direct something, maybe he could direct it like Stallone and Rocky. I hope I'm in it.

Creed II (Steven Caple Jr.)

There’s no better way to recognize what a filmmaker brings to the table than a sequel without him/her. This isn’t to say Ryan Coogler wasn’t involved in the making of Creed II—he is a producer on the project after all. No, it’s simply to point out how different Creed was to the Rocky films that came before it. Review: ‘Creed II’ is a Missed Opportunity to Strengthen a Rejuvenated Franchise
Yes, it was pretty much a redux of the original installment that put Sylvester Stallone on Hollywood’s map as both a leading actor and screenwriter, but it relived those beats with a depth of character and emotion that transcended the nostalgic love we have for the Oscar-winner. Coogler and co-writer Aaron Covington lent a modern authenticity that moved beyond boxing to living life itself in the shadows of greatness.

Well, Stallone is back with the eighth chapter in the Balboa chronicles as writer (he was...

Creed II release date, trailer, cast, plot and everything you want to know about Sylvester Stallone’s latest film
Michael B. Jordan returns in Creed II as Adonis Creed after his starring role as Erik Killmonger in Black Panther while Sylvester Stallone returns as his mentor, Rocky Balboa. Creed II, directed by Steven Caple Jr., with Ryan Coogler as executive producer, is the latest installment in the boxing-themed Rocky franchise, and the sequel to 2015’s Creed, the smash-hit sports drama film directed by Coogler, who also co-wrote it with Aaron Covington. The Creed series is essentially a spinoff of the Rocky franchise, which took off with 1976’s Rocky, the movie that made Sylvester Stallone. Stallone took the calculated risk […]

Charlie Kaufman
The 25 Best American Screenplays of the 21st Century, From ‘Eternal Sunshine’ to ‘Lady Bird’
Charlie Kaufman
You’ll often hear directors say that each movie is really three movies: The one on the page, the one you shoot, and the one you end up with in the final cut. That gives you three chances to get it right or mess it up even more, but nothing beats a solid foundation and well-crafted blueprint. At least with a great screenplay, you know it will be a lot harder to mess up the other two phases.

Any consideration of the best movies of the past 18 years takes on new context when considered exclusively in terms of their screenplays. There are some obvious masters of the form, such as Charlie Kaufman and Kenneth Lonergan, not to mention the clockwork-like precision of the Pixar story factory, which is why they all have two films on this list. Many of the films here were robbed of Oscar nominations, including from David Fincher...

Creed 2 Release Date Announced
Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan in Creed (2015)
After months of speculation, Sylvester Stallone's Creed 2 now has an official release date of November 18th, 2018. Stallone has previously been cryptic about the follow-up, but he announced earlier this month that he will direct and produce the sequel that will see the return of star Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky Balboa's late friend and previous rival, Apollo Creed. Sylvester Stallone will reprise his role as Creed's trainer and mentor in the upcoming continuation of the Rocky franchise, which has been eagerly awaited ever since there were rumblings of it officially happening.

Sylvester Stallone has been hinting at a 2018 theatrical release for Creed 2 over the last few months, even before the movie was greenlit. Taking a cue from Creed, the sequel will hit theaters right before Thanksgiving, on November 18th, 2018. MGM revealed the news. The release date will see the movie go toe...

Creed 2 Story Inspired by Rocky 4, Will Ivan Drago Return?
Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan in Creed (2015)
There has been talk of a Creed sequel ever since the original Creed movie hit theaters in November 2015, and now it finally may be happening. Sylvester Stallone took to Instagram recently to share a number of behind-the-scenes photos from Rocky IV, featuring the actor/director along with Dolph Lundgren as the Russian boxer Ivan Drago and Carl Weathers as the iconic Apollo Creed, the father of Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Creed from the 2015 spin-off. While we haven't heard much about Creed 2 lately, it seems Sylvester Stallone could be teasing that Dolph Lundgren's Ivan Drago will return to fight Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Creed. Here's what Sylvester Stallone had to say in a cryptic photo, which had been altered to show Adonis Creed squaring off with Ivan Drago, with Stallone's Rocky Balboa in the background.

NBA 2K17 Review
Admittedly, I actually skipped last year’s NBA 2K16. Part of that stemmed from my unusually busy schedule, but it was also hard for me to get excited about the then-upcoming NBA season. At the time, it felt weird not to have Visual Concepts’ acclaimed franchise to play, but perhaps the year off did me some good. It allowed me to approach this year’s release, NBA 2K17, with a renewed interest in both the franchise and the sport. There’s still a good chance come June 2017 we’re watching Warriors/Cavaliers again, but at least I can change that outcome in the game.

Despite having no competition from NBA Live this year, Visual Concepts wasn’t interested in sitting on their laurels, and so the gameplay in NBA 2K17 has received several noticeable changes. With the exception of dunks, every shot you take in the game is now measured by a timing meter.

Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Martin Freeman, Michael B. Jordan, Andy Serkis, Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong'o, Daniel Kaluuya, and Letitia Wright in Black Panther (2018)
While we wait for Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to kick off next month with Captain America: Civil War, the studio is already in various stages of development and production on several more P3 movies. One of these upcoming adventures that hasn't started production yet is Black Panther, which has Ryan Coogler set to direct. We also reported in October that Joe Robert Cole (American Crime Story) had come aboard to write the script. Earlier today, producer Kevin Feige announced that Ryan Coogler is co-working on the script as well. Here's what the producer had to say, when asked how close the script is to being finished, while also confirming when production will begin.

"Very soon. We have a number of writers on it including Ryan Coogler, who is also directing, he's working on the draft right now. Between now and the end of the summer there will be more casting announcements.

‘Creed’ Review
Stars: Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Andre Ward, Tony Bellew, Ritchie Coster, Wood Harris | Written by Ryan Coogler, Aaron Covington | Directed by Ryan Coogler

It’s not too often you get the seventh installment of a movie franchise that feels fresh, exciting and renews your faith in that series as a whole. Well, if you don’t count The Force Awakens, anyway. Creed is that rare beast that pays homage to the films that came before it but doesn’t wallow in nostalgia, instead making room for new characters, stories and themes to work their way into the hearts of viewers.

Even though one of those themes is that of legacy, we’re most definitely in the present with Adonis Johnson’s (Michael B. Jordan) story. The illegitimate son of Rocky’s rival-turned-friend Apollo Creed, Adonis decides to shrug off a white-collar existence in pursuit of...

'Creed 2' Aims to Bring Rocky Back in 2017
Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan in Creed (2015)
Last night at the Golden Globes, Sylvester Stallone won Best Supporting Actor for his performance as the iconic Rocky Balboa in Creed, with many awards season analysts believing he may take home the Oscar next month. During the ceremony last night, Variety spoke with MGM CEO Gary Barber, who revealed that he plans on releasing the sequel Creed 2 in November 2017. While he wouldn't give an exact release date, that would put the sequel in theaters almost exactly two years after the original Creed debuted.

The CEO added that the release date isn't set in stone yet, but he says it's his "goal" to roll out the follow-up in November 2017. As of now, the November 2017 release schedule already has a number of high-profile titles. Thor: Ragnarok and My Little Pony are currently scheduled to open on November 3, 2017, with the Murder on the Orient Express remake set for November 10, 2017. Justice League Part 1 and Dr.

Watch: How Ryan Coogler Convinced Sylvester Stallone to Revive Rocky Balboa in 'Creed' (Exclusive Video)
Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan in Creed (2015)
Rising writer-director Ryan Coogler's "Creed" opened on awards-friendly November 25. His take on the "Rocky" franchise and the seventh film in the series is already a popular hit, at $87 million domestic and counting.  The project dates back to July 2013 when, just as Coogler's debut "Fruitvale Station" hit theaters after touted premieres at Sundance and Cannes, MGM tapped Coogler, now 29, to direct the film and co-write with Aaron Covington. None of this would have happened if Coogler had not been able to convince writer-director-actor Sylvester Stallone to let him develop this reprise of Rocky Balboa, a character that he created almost 40 years ago.  "Creed" is produced by Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff, who produced the original 1976 Best Picture-winning "Rocky," Stallone and Kevin King Templeton. Now it looks like Stallone has a shot at a supporting actor Oscar nomination, which would mark his first since...

Sylvester Stallone and Talia Shire in Rocky (1976)
7 'Creed' moments that made me cry
Sylvester Stallone and Talia Shire in Rocky (1976)
Much has been written about the joyous cinematic experience that is "Creed," whether our own Drew McWeeny's glowing review, or A.O. Scott's New York Times rave, which contains one of my favorite lines of criticism this year. ("A boxing movie without clichés is like a political campaign without lies.") All those pieces have sung the justified praises of director/co-writer Ryan Coogler, of the star-making performance by Michael B. Jordan (there's Wallace!), of Sylvester Stallone inserting himself into the Oscar conversation, and of the technical brilliance of a film that's the best "Rocky" movie since the original. Since we're almost a week past the release, and since, based on the movie's strong box office performance, many of you have likely seen it, I wanted to take a more specific approach (and one that will have many spoilers), and discuss some of the scenes in "Creed" in which the...

Creed movie review: the boxing ring of truth
Feels natural and organic, not forced by the dictates of movie franchises. A smart, engaging, unsentimental portrait of male friendship and male emotion. I’m “biast” (pro): nothing

I’m “biast” (con): nothing

(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)

It’s been nine years since the stunningly good Rocky Balboa, which seemed to be a fitting ending of the story of the Philadelphia boxer. Creed finds a satisfying new chapter in Rocky’s tale — one that feels natural and organic, not forced by the dictates of movie franchises — by having him step out of the spotlight in favor of a hungry young fighter, Donnie Johnson, who comes to the still-famous ex-champ to beg him for training help. Rocky (Sylvester Stallone: The Expendables 3) lets himself be drawn in because Donnie is, in fact, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan: Fantastic Four), son of his rival turned friend...

Jordan, Phylicia Rashad, Sylvester Stallone and Tessa Thompson. We've posted comments from a couple of the critics, below. Mick Lasalle over at the San Francisco Chronicle, gave it a great 100 score, stating: "Rocky might not be the brightest guy, but he knows things. He has his limitations, but he is, in his own way, extraordinary, and when we look at his/Stallone’s face, we can have no doubt that Rocky has gone through life and learned things. He has been awake all these years, and growing.

What’s in a Name?: Coogler’s Impressive Rocky Spinoff

After taking home the top prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013 with Fruitvale Station, director Ryan Coogler moved into studio franchise filmmaking with Creed for his sophomore effort. It’s a questionable move, seeing as the film is a spinoff from Sylvester Stallone’s iconic Rocky series, a legacy spawning six films, the last unfurling in 2006. Co-writing the screenplay with first time screenwriter Aaron Covington, Coogler’s perspective concerns the abandoned offspring of Rocky Balboa’s frenemy Apollo Creed (played by Carl Weathers) and his rise to fame. Considering its breakneck speed through arguably slim running time and retread of the general motions we’ve seen in nearly every boxing odyssey committed to celluloid, Coogler manages a compelling character study hinging on dynamic emotional motifs concerning the nature of legacy and the definition of family. Though not as...

Could we see “Creed” make a dent in the Oscar race?
I love a good cinematic surprise, and boy oh boy did I get one last week when I saw Creed. This sixth sequel in the Rocky franchise is also a spinoff, focusing on the son of Apollo Creed as opposed to just Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa. It’s also one of the best movies of the year so far, masterfully done by filmmaker Ryan Coogler. I expected very little, but this film blew me away. It’s now something that I consider a dark horse awards player, in particular for Stallone. Hard to believe, I know, but believe. The flick is out today and is a must see, so hopefully I can convince you now… The film centers on Adonis Johnson (Jordan), who finds out he’s the son of Apollo Creed and sets off to follow in his father’s footsteps. He tracks down retired and broken down...

Film Review: ‘Creed’ is a Champion in the Rocky Balboa Legacy
Chicago – This is what happens when passionate filmmakers come into a known movie project – with an obvious love for the previous stories and characters – and create a new chapter that both evolves and honors its source. “Creed” does all of that, and gives the beloved Rocky Balboa one more time in the spotlight.

Rating: 4.5/5.0

Writer/director Ryan Coogler – with screenwriter Aaron Covington – are the creators, taking the universe of Rocky Balboa (the opening scene of the first film takes place 40 years ago today, on November 25th, 1975, and includes six previous films) and expanding it with the story of Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky’s first opponent, heavyweight champion Apollo Creed. The approach is straightforward and clean, borrowing from Sylvester Stallone’s last outing as the Rocky character, “Rocky Balboa,” and adding the Adonis situation to the mix. Director Coogler also used some unexpected tools in his filmmaker’s arsenal...

‘Creed’ Follows The ‘Rocky’ Road
If you’re going to make a boxing movie, why not use the template of one that scored a knockout? That was Ryan Coogler’s concept in pitching a second-generation Rocky movie to Sylvester Stallone, and it works…with Coogler’s Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan as the son of Rocky Balboa’s onetime opponent, Apollo Creed. A troubled kid who’s always fighting, he is taken in by a kindly woman who turns out to be Apollo’s wife (Phylicia Rashad). She raises him well, but when he reaches adulthood he decides that it’s time to follow his destiny and enter the boxing ring, using a pseudonym. Coogler and co-writer Aaron Covington don’t try to reinvent the wheel. There are no shocks...

‘Creed’ packs quality and crowd-pleasing punch
Creed

Written by Ryan Coogler & Aaron Covington

Directed by Ryan Coogler

USA, 2015

Creed, the seventh film in the venerable Rocky series, feels completely fresh despite revisiting some very familiar territory. Proving that his stellar 2013 debut Fruitvale Station was no fluke, writer-director Ryan Coogler cleverly disguises this quiet character drama as a boxing extravaganza. Coogler’s knack for perceptive dialogue and subtle characterization harkens back to the spirit of Stallone’s original masterpiece. The lack of a compelling villain prevents Creed from eclipsing the original, but it’s easily the second best film in the series and a quality picture in its own right.

When Apollo Creed died in the ring during Rocky IV, he left behind not only a brilliant boxing career, but an unborn son. The product of an extra-marital affair, Adonis ‘Creed’ Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) has spent his entire life shadow-boxing his father’s legacy. Creed puts...

Creed Review
Making the first entrance in a bout between septologic ‘70s revivals, Creed is not a movie many will be talking about by year’s end, once The Force Awaken starts breaking box office records while actually playing in theatres. Compared to Star Wars, the Rocky franchise is a series of scrappy character dramas – and, yes, that counts the one where Rocky Balboa single-handedly defeated the Soviet Union. Creed hasn’t a hope of beating Disney’s 500lb gorilla in box office receipts or cultural impact, but as far as heart, technique, and performances go, Creed is already 2015’s franchise revival to beat.

This isn’t to say that the film’s magic doesn’t owe a great deal to the nostalgia factor all series this old seemingly must; Creed is as much Rocky VII as it is the start of something new. As the seventh entry in Sylvester Stallone’s career-making,...

[Review] Creed
Early on in Creed, the seventh installment of the Rocky franchise, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) shadowboxes in front of a screen projecting footage of a bout between Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), and his father, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). It’s a sharp composition, but the positioning is the revealing aspect, as Jordan’s stationary form overlaps with both Rocky and Apollo – the David and Goliath relationship of the Rocky series.

There’s few greater visual metaphors for Creed as both a character, and as the continuation of a successful franchise than this image. Despite its reputation as an iconic underdog story, Rocky — and the franchise by extension — aren’t dark horses anymore, and neither is Adonis.

Director Ryan Coogler taps into something existential about the Rocky story. He knows that the legacy of Rocky will always tower over Creed, but by transforming those expectations into a mirror for its protagonist,...

Sylvester Stallone and Talia Shire in Rocky (1976)
Review: Michael B. Jordan stands tall with Rocky's help in the excellent 'Creed'
Sylvester Stallone and Talia Shire in Rocky (1976)
There is a single line of dialogue in "Creed," late in the film, delivered by Michael B. Jordan, where the entire film comes into focus, and in that moment, the movie absolutely broke me. Whatever I expected from what is, technically speaking, the seventh film in the "Rocky" series, it wasn't this, and I suspect that both Jordan and writer/director Ryan Coogler are going to be very busy once people see what they've done here. It is far better than it needs to be, far better than I expected it to be, and far better than any franchise deserves this far into it. The screenplay for "Creed," written by Coogler and Aaron Covington, is lean and smart and emotionally direct, and perhaps the most honest piece of writing in the series since the first film. In some ways, this is an inverted remake, and if there'd been no other films between the two,...

Win Passes To The Advance Screening Of Creed In St. Louis
Wamg has your passes to one of the most anticipated films of 2015, Ryan Coogler’s Creed.

The film reunites Coogler with his Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan as the son of Apollo Creed, and explores a new chapter in the “Rocky” story, starring Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone in his iconic role.

Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there’s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa.

Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky (Stallone) down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo—the fierce...

Standing atop the Philadelphia Art Museum’s iconic steps, Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter proclaimed Wednesday, November 25 “Creed” Day in honor of the upcoming film – opening that same day – which explores the next chapter in the “Rocky” saga.

Creed stars Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson joined Mayor Nutter on Friday to receive the official proclamation. The film’s writer/director, Ryan Coogler, and producer Irwin Winkler were also on hand.

The film, which brings Rocky Balboa face-to-face with the son of his one-time rival and best friend, Apollo Creed, was shot in and around the City of Brotherly Love. The museum steps, and the statue of Rocky that stands at the bottom of them, can, in fact, be seen in Creed.

Mayor Nutter also gifted the team from Creed with individually inscribed miniature Liberty Bells to mark the occasion; they, in turn, presented the mayor with a framed rendering of the mural,...

'Creed' Preview Explores the Rebirth of Rocky
Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan in Creed (2015)
Boxers and movie franchises have a lot in common, in that they both must decide when it's the right time to call it quits. Sports and movie fans alike have seen fighters and franchises that have continued past their prime, and it's never a pretty sight. After six successful movies, most fans thought 2006's Rocky Balboa would be the last time we'd see this iconic character on the big screen, but that all changed with the upcoming Creed, which extends the Rocky franchise while giving it a fresh spin. Warner Bros. has released a new preview, where even Sylvester Stallone himself admits that he thought his days as Rocky Balboa were all over.

Sylvester Stallone reveals that he had never thought about exploring a story focused on Apollo Creed's son, while producer Irwin Winkler also admits that he thought the franchise was over, until he heard about writer-director Ryan Coogler...

Watch: Featurette for Ryan Coogler's 'Creed' on the Legacy of 'Rocky'
"It's an honor to be part of the process." Warner Bros has unveiled a fascinating featurette on the making of Creed, the new film from director Ryan Coogler starring Michael B. Jordan as Adonis, Apollo Creed's son. We've already featured a few trailers already and have seen plenty of footage, and it looks great, but this is an interesting behind-the-scenes look at what went into the filmmaking process, the many decisions, their inspirations. Sylvester Stallone is involving in this quite a bit, as the video finally connects directly back to Rocky and even he admits it's a continuation of the legacy of those movies with a new generation. I dig all the footage of Ryan Coogler, he's such a talented director. Can't wait! Welcome to the fall movie season. Here's the new making of featurette for Ryan Coogler's Creed, found in high def from Apple: Creed is directed...

New Creed Featurette Explores Family And Fighting
Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan in Creed (2015)
Creed represents a passing of the torch for the Rocky franchise, an unexpected happening that even the man behind the original film, Sylvester Stallone, didn’t expect to occur. He seems pleased with the transition, though, as he explains in a new featurette about the movie’s connections to the past and its hopes for the future.Originally dreamt up by Fruitvale Station’s Ryan Coogler, which he then turned into a script alongside Aaron Covington, Creed finds Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson, a driven young fighter who despite the boxing ability pulsing through his veins, never knew his father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died in the ring before he was born. But while he’s not so eager to embrace connections to his dad, he’s been fighting all of his life with little discipline, so he knows he needs a good trainer. That finds him...

With the November 25 release date just around the corner, Warner Bros. has released the second trailer for their Rocky spinoff Creed. Creed: new trailer for Rocky spin-off
Michael B Jordan and Sylvester Stallone star in the latest Rocky Balboa movie, Creed...

Arriving in Us cinemas in November, although not heading to the UK until early 2016, is Creed. This is the latest addition to the Rocky movie series, although it's more of a spin-off than a straight sequel.

The focus this time is on the son of Apollo Creed, played by Jordan. With boxing in his blood, he heads to Philadelphia, tracks down Rocky Balboa (Stallone, natch), and persuades him to be his trainer. And Creed Jr wants his own shot at boxing greatness. It wouldn't be much of a film if he didn't get it, either.

The movie reunites Jordan with his Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler, and co-stars Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Anthony Bellew. Coogler penned the screenplay with Aaron Covington.

A new trailer for Creed landed overnight, to give a further taste of the film that lies ahead.
