‘Axeman At Cutter’s Creek 2’ Review
Image
Stars: Arielle Brachfeld, Ari Hader, Bryan E. Clark II, Arielle Brachfeld, Monique Parent, Alisha Seaton, Farrah Abraham, Edward Gusts, Allen Merritt, Michael Wayne Foster, Craig Partamian, Jacqui Holland | Written and Directed by Joston Theney

I’m not going to lie, the Axeman franchise is starting to get a bit confusing… the original film was released in 2013 and a sequel arrived a few years later under the title Axeman 2: Overkill. Then in 2020 the original film was recut and re-edited, making it – as filmmaker Joston Theney stated – a more straightforward horror with a leaner edit, new footage and new music. Originally set to be released under the title Axeman: Redux, instead it was released as Axemen at Cutter’s Creek.

Now comes Axeman at Cutter’s Creek 2 which, if you believe IMDb is a sequel to Axeman 2 and Not Axemen at Cutter’s Creek – though the press materials claims otherwise, stating...

‘Jurassic Hunt’ DVD Review
Image
Stars: Courtney Loggins, Tarkan Dospil, Ruben Pla, Joston Theney, Motown Maurice, Heath C. Heine | Written by Hank Braxtan, Jacoby Bancroft, Jeffery Giles | Directed by Hank Braxtan

Hank Braxtan has given us a genetically altered polar bear in Unnatural, a giant urban serpent in Snake Outta Compton and a dragon in Dragon Soldiers. And now he delivers the dinosaurs in his latest film, Jurassic Hunt. I wonder what took him so long?

A group of hunters, including Parker (Courtney Loggins; Give My Love To Rose), Valentine (Tarkan Dospil; 4 Minutes), Torres and African poacher and warlord Blackhawk, has been flown into a remote and hidden location. They’re there to hunt the biggest game of all, dinosaurs. Lindon manager of Jurassic Hunt welcomes them, gives them their choice of weapons and tags them all with a tracking device, “Just in case”.

However, something has gone very wrong. On their first night in the park,...

Jurassic City (2015)
First Trailer for Extra Dumb 'Jurassic Hunt' About Dinosaur Hunters
Jurassic City (2015)
"This doesn't end until we're all dead!" Good! Lionsgate has released a trailer for a so-bad-you-have-to-see-this movie called Jurassic Hunt, which is surprisingly not a movie from The Asylum though it definitely looks like it. The world's most dangerous soldiers, mercenaries and big-game hunters arrive at a mysterious hunting reserve to hunt the deadliest game of all. When dinosaurs kill the tour guides in a wilderness park, the surviving trophy hunters must work together to evade the giant human-hungry ancient creatures and all the mercenaries hired to finish them off. This stars Courtney Loggins, Ruben Pla, Joston Theney, Motown Maurice, and Tarkan Dospil. The only way this can be good is if the dinosaurs eat every last one of them. Surprise, surprise, there's barely three shots of awful CGI dinos in the trailer. Don't watch this. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Hank Braxtan's Jurassic Hunt, direct from Lionsgate's...

‘Axeman: Redux’ Review
Image
Stars: Elissa Dowling, Joston Theney, Tiffany Shepis, Brinke Stevens, Scot Pollard, Stephen Eith, Chantelle Albers, Jamie Bernadette, Erin Marie Hogan, Eliza Kiss, Nihilist Gelo, Carlos Javier Castillo, Ray Trickitt | Written and Directed by Joston Theney

Axeman at Cutters Creek is a pretty great name for a horror movie so I’m not sure why this has been changed to Axeman: Redux. Although I know it will probably be a low budget affair, it still manages to conjure up images of classic eighties slashers with great death scenes and great gore. All this from the title alone, at least for me.

And the opening scene keeps in with that spirit. Very much feeling like a tribute to those eighties horror movies. Unfortunately it never manages to get to the heights of any classics, in fact it shares more in common with the eighties horror that is not so fondly remembered.

Lets...

It’s a great day in South Central: Cam and his hip-hop crew are all set to sign a record deal that could change their lives. But their jealous friend Vurkel wrecks their plans when he creates a giant, mutant snake that quickly lays waste to the city of Compton, eating everyone in its path. Soon Cam, Pinball, Neon, and Beez Neez cook up a crazy scheme to stop the monstrous, munching menace—blow it away it by pumping up the jams.

You’ve got to love Any film that starts with a snake falling out of a plane directly onto a car driving through Compton… Yes, Snake Outta Compton literally sees Snakes On A Plane...

'Our Friend Jon - The Documentary' to begin shooting the week before Halloween
The week before Halloween will see the commencement of principal photography on Edward Payson’s next project: Our Friend John – The Documentary.

Our Friend Jon, a collaboration between Payson’s prolific production company, An AntiHero Production, and Maria Olsen’s MOnsterworks66, will document the story of how three friends will produce and shoot the short film, Rose Thorn, written by Jonathan Hernandez. What makes this story special is that Jon passed away from complications due to Sickle Cell Anemia while writing the script, and what makes it particularly poignant is that Jon’s three friends, Nick Saporito, Brandon Joyal and Garrett Payson, all lead extremely challenging lives...

What will make this film appeal to horror fans worldwide is that Rose Thorn is a horror film...it was Jon’s wish to become a horror filmmaker, and, by shooting his film and documenting the process, his family and friends will both...

New Adam K. Still Does Not Want to be Noticed
Another still has arrived for Joston Theney's new project Adam K., and we have this bad boy for you right here. The still features Sarah Nicklin as "Amanda Cole," who's apparently trying desperately to avoid the warm, bloody embrace of the flick's big bad.

"What really makes the killer so scary is that he could literally be any 'normal' guy that you run into on the street," says Nicklin. "He's completely unassuming (until all Hell breaks loose)."

She continues, "I think the biggest impact it would have [on horror fans] is to make people look over their shoulder and be more suspicious of their neighbors or the good samaritans that seemingly just want to help them out because you never know what their ulterior motives might really be."

Writer/director Joston "El Rey" Theney has announced that Adam K. will soon be making its way to theaters and home video. Theney previously said,...

With a cast that includes iconic scream queens Tiffany Shepis and Brinke Stevens, as well as up-and-coming scream queens Elissa Dowling, Arielle Brachfeld and Jamie Bernadette, how could I not review Axeman (aka Axeman at Cutters Creek)?

It seems, at least in the horror genre, that the 80s, and especially 80s slasher movies, are back. And as a fan of slasher movies I couldn’t be happier. Of course, like back in its heyday, the modern slasher has its good and its bad. In the grand scheme of slasher movies, Axeman sits somewhere in the middle – with enough decent kills to rise above the flotsam but with not enough of a meaty story to really count itself amongst the greats.
