We’re getting the first look at footage of The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, Hulu’s upcoming limited series starring Grace Van Patten as the wrongfully accused killer.

The teaser trailer for The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox sees Grace Van Patten as Amanda Knox, fighting for her life.

The series is based on Knox’s harrowing journey to prove her innocence and regain her freedom after being wrongfully imprisoned for her roommate’s murder. Knox, a Seattle native, was studying abroad in Italy at the time. After being initially convicted for murder in 2007, she was later acquitted by Italy’s highest court in 2015.

“Many people think they know my story, but now it’s my turn to tell it,” Van Patten’s Knox can be heard saying in the footage (below), which debuted during game five of the NBA Finals on Monday.

“A limited series inspired by the story of how Amanda Knox was wrongfully convicted for the tragic murder of her roommate, Meredith Kercher, and her 16-year odyssey to set herself free,” the show’s logline reads.

The John Krasinski-led Jack Ryan movie, a continuation of the Prime Video series, is scheduled to begin filming in January 2025, according to reports from Production Bulletin. The film was announced in October 2024, more than a year after the show's final season concluded on July 14, 2023. Andrew Bernstein, known for his role as executive producer and director in the show's second season, will direct the new film, expanding the hit series into a feature-length format.

Viola Davis, who plays U.S. President Danielle Sutton in upcoming action thriller feature “G20,” says she didn’t model the role after anyone in particular.

“There was no one that I could model her after,” she told Variety Thursday before the awards ceremony for the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, where she will be honored for her career as an actor and producer.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, it's been revealed that Sienna Miller has been tapped to star opposite Krasinski in the Jack Ryan movie. It's also been reported that the film will bring back other cast members from the TV series, including Wendell Pierce (Superman) and Michael Kelly (House of Cards). Plot details have not been divulged, though it's expected that the story will largely follow Krasinski's titular character. Miller will reportedly play an MI6 agent, described as the "British counterpart to Ryan."

At least one more, according to Hulu, whose new eight-part series Blue Moon has begun filming in Italy, sparking backlash from the residents of Perugia, where Meredith Kercher was found murdered back in 2007. A 20-year-old Knox and her then-lover, Raffaele Sollecito, were convicted of killing Knox's roommate 17 years ago, and subsequently spent four years in an Italian prison before their release in 2011 due to shoddy police work. She was later acquitted by the Italian Supreme Court in 2015, and has since gone on to become an author and activist.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, residents of Perugia have shown up in full force to the production, displaying banners that read "Rispetto per Meredith," which translates to "Respect for Meredith." The dramatization stars Grace Van Patten (Tell Me Lies), and will air on Hulu next year, with Knox now 37 on board as an executive producer.

A Jack Ryan movie is in the works. Currently titled “Amanda,” the series has added John Hoogenakker, Francesco Acquaroli, Giuseppe De Domenico, and Roberta Mattei.

Michael Keaton's crime thriller with an 83% Rotten Tomatoes audience score, Knox Goes Away, has received a digital release date. Directed by and starring Keaton, the crime thriller film follows the titular contract killer who, after being diagnosed with a rare, rapidly evolving form of dementia, is offered an opportunity to redeem himself by saving his estranged adult son's life. Other than Keaton, the cast includes James Marsden, Suzy Nakamura, Joanna Kulig, Ray McKinnon, John Hoogenakker, Lela Loren, Marcia Gay Harden, and Al Pacino.

Now, after an under-the-radar box office run, Keaton's crime thriller has received a digital release date. According to Collider, Knox Goes Away is heading to digital platforms on May 21, where it will be available to rent for $5.99 and buy for $14.99. The movie will also be released on Blu-ray on May 28 for $24.99.

The Batman actor revealed that he wouldn’t have taken on the script by Gregory Poirier if he thought the film would not hold up. For Keaton, the film was like a game of Jenga, where every piece had to work for the movie to work.

Saban Films has acquired U.S. rights to “Knox Goes Away,” a thriller about a contract killer with dementia that was directed by and stars Michael Keaton. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last September. Saban Films plans to release the movie theatrically in the first quarter of 2024.

In addition to Keaton, the film stars Oscar winners Al Pacino and Marcia Gay Harden, as well as James Marsden, Suzy Nakamura, John Hoogenakker, Joanna Kulig, Ray McKinnon and Lela Loren. “Knox Goes Away was written by Gregory Poirier, the screenwriter of “National Treasure: Book of Secrets.” Keaton produced the movie alongside Brookstreet’s Trevor Matthews and Nick Gordon and Sugar23’s Michael Sugar and Ashley Zalta.

There’s reason for this: early on audiences discover that John Knox is suffering from a form of dementia––one that moves much faster than Alzheimer’s, he is told––that will cause him to start losing his memory in a matter of “weeks, not months.” That news would be difficult for anyone, but it’s especially problematic for someone whose livelihood depends on his abilities to act decisively, move covertly, and always cover his tracks.

So it’s not going to be easy for Knox to finish off his career as a hitman and cash out. Worse yet it’s also not easy for audiences to become invested in that process. Knox Goes Away is a sub-par effort that may prove of interest to fans of the actor,...

The series covers both the immediate aftermath of the Waco standoff and takes a look into the past, bridging multiple storylines into a captivating and moving series that does as much to teach us about the lessons of history as it does to help us understand the present.
