Ex-‘DWTS’ Pro Cheryl Burke Opens Up About Sobriety in Heartfelt Social Media Post
Image
Cheryl Burke has been receiving praise from fans after sharing an emotionally vulnerable post about her sobriety. The former Dancing With the Stars pro took to Instagram on Wednesday (July 23) to celebrate seven years of sobriety. Alongside a gallery of photos, Burke shared a lengthy post about her battles with alcoholism, including a reflection on all the things she thought she’d miss (but doesn’t) after giving up alcohol. “7 years ago, I thought sobriety would mean losing everything. The fun. The freedom. The fearless version of me I thought only showed up after a drink,” she wrote. “I thought I’d miss the escape. The ability to numb everything – the pain, the pressure, the pretending.” “I thought I’d miss the confidence boost. The ‘liquid courage’ I thought made me magnetic, untouchable, more lovable,” she continued. “I thought I’d miss being the ‘fun one.’ The life of the party.

Is Tom Bergeron Gearing Up for a Dancing With The Stars Season 34 Return?
Image
After five years away from the sparkling ballroom floor of Dancing With the Stars, longtime host Tom Bergeron is opening the door—just a crack—for a potential return.

It’s a surprising shift, especially for a man who once said “never” when asked about coming back. But as DWTS prepares for its 34th season, Bergeron’s recent comments reveal a man who still cares deeply about the show he helped shape for nearly three decades.

A Catch-Up Over Lunch and a Hint at a Comeback

In a recent interview with USA Today, Bergeron shared that he has been in contact with DWTS executive producer Conrad Green—someone he credits for helping steer the show back to form. “He’s been largely responsible for getting the show back on track,” Bergeron said.

The two recently met for lunch, and during that meeting, the idea of a return came up—not as a full-time host,...

Two-time Dancing With The Stars champion Cheryl Burke has clapped back at critics in a recent TikTok video after facing Ozempic rumors online.

Cheryl Burke Speaks Out on Her ‘Reinvention’ & Life After 40 in New Video

Cheryl Burke Signs First-Look Deal With ABC
Image
Exclusive: Cheryl Burke is coming back to ABC.

The longtime Dancing with the Stars pro has signed a first-look deal with the network. Under the agreement, Burke will develop entertainment programming such as scripted and unscripted live-action and animated series, as well as specials and podcasts.

Burke left DWTS in 2022 after 26 seasons. During her memorable tenure in the ballroom, she was the first female pro to win the Mirror Ball Trophy and the first pro in the history of the franchise to become a back-to-back champion.

After leaving DWTS, Burke went on to launch “Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans,” an iHeartRadio podcast that took a deep — and sometimes controversial — dive into the ballroom competition show. It consistently ranked in Apple Podcasts’ Top 50 across TV and film before Burke, in December, announced she was pausing the show after nearly 200 episodes.

Burke currently serves as one of the hosts on the podcast...

Cheryl Burke Says She Felt ‘Abandoned’ by ‘DWTS’ Costars After Leaving the Show

Cheryl Burke has a complicated relationship with Dancing With the Stars after 17 years of working as a pro dancer on the show. During an appearance on Sharna Burgess, Brian Austin Green, and Randy Spelling‘s Old-Ish podcast, Burke opened up about how tough it’s been to lose friendships with people she worked with on the show for so long. “What really hurts is when your old costars and co-workers do interviews about you,” she admitted. Burgess, who is also no longer on the show after she stopped getting asked back following the birth of her son, didn’t seem to have as harsh of a take. She played devil’s advocate a bit, telling her friend, “We’ve all known each other for so long and we call it a family and it really is, and there’s sometimes friction with family.” However, Burke said she no longer felt...

Was This DWTS Alum Actually Fired?
Image
With over 30 seasons, Dancing With the Stars has seen professional dancers come and go. Some of the most notable dancers that have competed in the most seasons include pro-turned-judge Derek Hough, who not only competed for 17 seasons, but won six mirorrball trophies during his tenure. Then there is former pro Mark Ballas, who may not have won as many trophies, but had danced on the beloved reality TV show for 20 seasons.

However, no other professional dancer has topped Cheryl Burke when it comes to performing on the most seasons. As of this writing, she had competed in 26 seasons and won three mirrorball trophies. But, when she departed after Season 31, rumors swirled that she was fired. She finally set the record straight.

Dancing With The Stars Romances We Can Never Forget
Image
It certainly seems like whoever is responsible for matching up celebrity contestants and dancing professionals on Dancing With the Stars knows what they're doing. Since the reality TV dance competition first aired in 2005, several contestants and pros have taken their chemistry from the dance floor to the real world, turning their partnerships into romantic relationships.

Season 33, which saw The Bachelor's Joey Graziadei and pro Jenna Johnson win the mirrorball trophy, also saw its fair share of showmances. There was the very intense and sometimes confusing romance between pro Gleb Savchenko and model Brooks Nader, as well as the ongoing rumored romance between pro Sasha Farber and The Bachelorette's Jenn Tran.

With over 30 seasons of Dancing With the Stars, there are a few romances that stick out more than others.

DWTS' Pro Val Chmerkovskiy Confesses To 'Unprofessional' Showmances
Image
Season 33 of Dancing With The Stars drew to a close just before Thanksgiving, and pro Val Chmerkovskiy recently and candidly spoke about something that seems to come to issue each and every season, "showmances."

Showmances are a broader entertainment and reality TV phenomenon, a portmanteau which is kind of self-explanatory — it refers to a romantic relationship between two cast members of a show, whether authentic and sincere or feigned for the cameras to drive audience interest.

DWTS' structure pairs "pros" with celebrities for the season, and that necessarily close-knit setting is such that this particular show appears to generate a higher than average number of showmances, such as Season 33's "will they or won't they" chemistry between Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber.

Then there are Dancing With The Stars showmances gone awry — former pro Artem Chigvintsev wed former contestant Nikki Garcia, and the couple's marriage fell apart explosively in late August.

Former DWTS Pro Dancer Cheryl Burke Wants Changes For The Show
Image
Dancing With The Stars spoilers and updates reveals former DWTS pro dancer Cheryl Burke wants some changes for the show. She’s hoping it will go back to its original premise, the way it was in the first season.

Dancing With The Stars Spoilers – A History Of The Show

Dancing with the Stars is a popular American dance competition show that first aired on ABC on June 1, 2005.

This series is the U.S. adaptation of the British reality show Strictly Come Dancing and is part of the broader Dancing with the Stars franchise.

In the show, celebrities are paired with professional dancers, and together they compete for points from judges and votes from the audience.

Each week, the couple with the lowest combined score is typically eliminated, continuing until one champion couple remains.

On February 10, 2024, ABC confirmed the renewal of the series for a thirty-third season, set to debut on...

The recent Dancing With the Stars season brought much backlash from critical fans due to how the judges scored the celebrity contestants.

During Season 33, Carrie Ann Inaba received a lot of criticism. Many felt her critiques were particularly harsh, and some scores were unfair.

Some fans suggested that DWTS should fire her despite her appearance as a judge every season since the show’s premiere in June 2005.

Last month, Monsters and Critics reported on the speculation that Carrie Ann’s career as a DWTS judge might end after her “unpredictable behavior” on the show.

However, former professional dancer Cheryl Burke believes there’s a suitable fix for the judges’ scoring issues, and it isn’t necessarily firing or replacing any of them.

Instead, she suggested that the DWTS judges be more educated in the ballroom dance niche.

Burke said most of the DWTS judges aren’t ‘experts’ in ballroom dance ‘niche’

The show has changed judges over the years. The current lineup includes Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Derek Hough. However, Cheryl would like to see judges with formal dancing training, like the late Len Goodman.

Cheryl Burke Blasts ‘DWTS’ Judges & Says They ‘Need More Ballroom Experience’
Image
Former Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke has some suggestions for how the ABC competition show’s judging panel can increase their knowledge and offer better critiques to contestants. Speaking on the Wednesday (December 4) episode of her Sex, Lies and Spray Tans podcast, Burke responded to a fan question about whether the judges should hold contestants to “true ballroom dancing” standards as they did in the past. Burke agreed they should but noted, “However, you have to know what you’re talking about, right? So, they have to be able to back up whatever they say.” “If you’re just saying things because you know it’s the right terminology, and you can’t explain yourself as to why it should be a certain way, then it’s kind of hard,” she continued, per Us Weekly. “Unless they get judges that have more ballroom experience than some of the...

Every year, Dancing with the Stars fans wait to see which celebrities will be cast in the show. While that makes sense, Dancing with the Stars would be nothing without the pros. With that in mind, it is fascinating to look at how much the Dancing with the Stars pros get paid.

Kelly Monaco Responds To Misinformation, Declaring Those Who “Bully Behind Their Power Will Suffer Their Own Consequences”

“Those whom choose to bully behind their power, will suffer their own consequences,” said former “General Hospital” star Kelly Monaco (ex-Sam McCall) on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this evening in response to a poster claiming the actress was let go from the daytime drama series due to “her actions.”

“[Kelly Monaco was] fired for her actions. There was no vendetta. She did this herself. She phoned in her performances for Years. She thought she had more power than she did,” the X poster commented in response to another poster who alleged that the show’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, had a “personal vendetta against Kelly [which] created a hostile workplace.”

Standing up for herself, Monaco stated, “I do have more power than a ‘job’ it’s my voice, my experience, my truth. You can beat someone down, until they finally find the power within themselves to recover with grace and dignity. Those whom...

Dancing With The Stars Fans Causing Drama Is Ruining The Show
Image
Easily one of the most successful reality shows ever, Dancing with the Stars has lasted 33 seasons because of the show's loyal fans. After all, the show has millions of fans who are interested in things like what it was like to partner with Artem Chigvintsev and about the restraining order filed against him. Similarly, many DWTS fans want to know about the reaction to Anna Delvey, the stars who didn't like competing on the show, and how much the performers get paid.

Of course, the fans who want to know about the rumor that Anna Delvey is banned from the reunion have helped make Dancing with the Stars last. However, according to some fans, it is that kind of Dancing with the Stars fan that is ruining the show.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ most wins: All 19 pro dancers who have won the Mirror Ball Trophy and how many

“Dancing with the Stars” premiered in 2005 with a focus on teaching celebrities some fancy footwork. Many of them returned to the show year after year, and over a dozen have won the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy over the course of the series. Scroll down to see every single “DWTS” pro champion, listed by their number of victories.

It’s fitting that the “DWTS” pros have become fan-favorites because they’re not just dancers. Gleb Savchenko
Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko spark reunion rumors as they’re spotted kissing while rehearsing for the DWTS finale
Gleb Savchenko
Brooks Nader was dating pro dancer Gleb Savchenko when they appeared on Dancing With the Stars Season 33.

Things fizzled out when they were eliminated midway through the season, but now, there’s a chance that their relationship is back on.

DWTS pro Emma Slater took to TikTok to share a video of Brooks and Gleb rehearsing for the season finale.

While they lost their spot in the running for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy weeks ago, DWTS typically brings every contestant back for the finale to have a chance at another performance.

Yes, that means we’ll be forced to endure more rude comments from Anna Delvey.

Emma’s video showed several people associated with the long-running ABC series, but the most surprising was Gleb holding Brooks, her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist.

But after the semifinals came to a close, Cheryl Burke shared her personal opinions with her podcast listeners — even if they were a bit harsh.

Cheryl Burke Thinks Derek Hough Did Poorly As The Head Judge

Dancing With the Stars Season 33 unleashed an unnecessary twist earlier this week when hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough revealed that all five semi-finalists would advance to next week’s season finale.

The development didn’t go down well with viewers, primarily because it eliminated the point of the semi-finals.

Viewers watched the penultimate episode with bated breath, waiting to find out whether their votes helped their favorites advance to the next stage of the competition.

In the aftermath of the episode’s airing, former pro dancer Cheryl Burke opened up about her thoughts on the development and the critiques from head judge Derek Hough.

In a new episode of her Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans podcast, Cheryl said she would not give the semi-finalists tens.

“Not even close because no one deserved it,” she added.

Why Cheryl Burke And Matthew Lawrence Really Split

Cheryl Burke found immense fame as a pro dancer on Dancing With the Stars. She became a two-time mirrorball trophy winner in Season 2 and Season 3, and continued to dance on the show for 24 more seasons.

Like many of her DWTS counterparts, Cheryl found love in the ballroom. In Season 3, actor Joey Lawrence was a celebrity contestant paired with pro Edyta Sliwinska, but it was his brother, Matthew Lawrence, who would visit the show who caught her eye.

Cheryl and Matthew would eventually wed in 2019, after reconnecting, but it was short-lived. Now, it looks like the former pro is ready to divulge a little more about what went wrong in their marriage.
