The 44-year-old actress and comedian shared a photo to her Instagram on Friday (August 8) posing with a walker. In the caption, she revealed that she had undergone a surgical procedure to repair a spine injury and joked about her plans to go bra shopping after she recovers.

Sedaris will play Laurel Hammond-Muntz, the headstrong and devoted head writer and executive producer of the popular late-night talk show Way Late.

After watching Alexander Hammer’s “Expecting Amy,” a 2020 docuseries about Amy Schumer’s difficult pregnancy, Jenn Freeman’s life changed.

In the series, Schumer’s husband, Chris Fischer, is unexpectedly diagnosed with autism. Fisher’s story struck a chord with Freeman, which prompted her to seek an autism evaluation. At the age of 33, Freeman, a celebrated dancer and choreographer, received an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis.

Freeman reached out to Hammer, an old friend, to congratulate him on the series and to share her recent diagnosis. The next day, Hammer was in Freeman’s apartment filming her.

The result is “Room to Move,” a documentary that follows Freeman as she navigates the most transformative chapter of her life. Executive produced by Schumer and Fischer, the doc captures Freeman over a five-year period during which she develops an understanding of herself and creates a one-woman dance performance, “Is It Thursday Yet?”

Jonathan Mayers — the concert promoter who co-founded Bonnaroo and the Outlands Festival, among others — has passed away at the age of 51.

News of Mayers’ death comes courtesy of his friend and business partner, Red Light Management founder Coran Capshaw.

“This is incredibly tough news for so many of us,” Capshaw told Billboard today.

“Jon was the creative force behind so much of what people experience at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and many other events over the years. We’re all really going to miss him.”

No cause of death has been revealed, but we will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.

Jonathan Mayers, a concert promoter who co-founded the music festivals Bonnaroo and helped create Outside Lands as a principal at Superfly Entertainment, has died. He was 51. The cause of death is as yet unknown.

The news arrives as the three-day Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is set to kick off Thursday with headliner Luke Combs.

The New York City native founded Superfly Presents as a marketing and event company in 1996 with partners Kerry Black, Rick Farman and Richard Goodstone, co-creating events such as the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival with Another Planet Entertainment and Bonnaroo, held since 2002 on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee.

Mayers’ first job was working with New Orleans’ legendary Tipitina’s and the city’s Jazz Fest. Superfly then went on to stage its first concert with the Meters, Maceo Parker and Rebirth Brass Band during Mardi Gras.
