When Season 5 returns in a few months, we can expect to see the ghosts of Woodstone rally around Jay as they all must find a way to get him out of his contract with Elias. At San Diego Comic-Con, the cast of the hit sitcom stopped by the Collider studio for a delightful conversation with Perri Nemiroff, who asked Danielle Pinnock, Asher Grodman, and Devan Chandler Long how their characters may contribute to the rescue plan.

Just before San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that Ghostsshowrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman’s new vampire comedy series Eternally Yourshad been given a pilot order. When I spoke with Port and Wiseman back in May, they revealed that they’d originally written the pilot for the series a decade ago, and while it didn’t get picked up at the time, its existence is why they were tapped to work on the American adaptation of Ghosts.

ScreenRant's Rachel Foertsch is on hand at the Ghosts panel at San Diego Comic-Con and reveals that a story in the upcoming season could see a new relationship between one of the human characters and one of the ghost characters in the series. The comedy already features complicated dynamics between its ghost and human characters who share a home.

According to showrunner Joe Wiseman, Ghosts season 5 will see Bela (Punam Patel) taking on a larger role at the restaurant in the series. Bela has already recurred throughout the show thanks to her connection to her brother Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) and the ghost Trevor (Asher Grodman).

Now, she will take on an even bigger role at Jay's restaurant and start her own event business. With that larger role in Ghosts season 5 comes "an interesting relationship with a ghost who's not Trevor" for Bela.

A head-scratching bit of lore lingering from Ghosts season 4 gets an update from co-showrunner Joe Port. The supernatural comedy has been renewed for two additional installments at CBS, meaning that Ghosts season 5 will get the chance to pick up on the fact that death is now hunting Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), but there are even more unanswered questions.

One of those questions connects to Sass (Román Zaragoza). His girlfriend, Joan (played by Taylor Ortega), can roam more freely despite the fact that the show's lore dictates that spirits are generally confined to the places where they died.

The Studio, the buzzy satire about the inner workings of Hollywood, led with a total of four wins, including Best Comedy Series, Best Actor in a Comedy Series for Seth Rogen, Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Catherine O’Hara, and Best Directing in a Comedy Series for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Ghosts star Utkarsh Ambudkar has teased what fans can expect from his character in the upcoming fifth season of the hit CBS sitcom. Tribeca Festival has unveiled an diverse jury lineup for its 2025 edition across 15 categories with writers, directors, actors, producers, Oscar winners and comedy trail blazers from Colson Whitehead, Nia DaCosta and Matthew Broderick to Jennifer Beals, Ilana Glazer, Art Linson, Kyle MacLachlan and Mira Sorvino.

Annie Murphy, Stephanie Hsu, Marianne-Jean Baptiste, Sheila Nevins, Alek Karpovsky will also be responsible for selecting this year’s top projects across film — narrative and documentary feature-length and shorts — as well as games and audio storytelling sections at the fest, which will unspool June 4-15 in New York City. The spooky program is once again submitting Rose McIver in Best Comedy Actress and Utkarsh Ambudkar in Best Comedy Actor. McIver plays Samantha "Sam" Arondekar, a journalist who can see ghosts after an accident leaves her clinically dead for several minutes, and Ambudkar portrays Jayanth "Jay" Arondekar, Sam's nerdy husband who empathizes with her unique gift.

For Best Comedy Supporting Actor Ghosts is entering Asher Grodman as Trevor Lefkowitz, Brandon Scott Jones as Capt. Isaac Higgintoot, Devan Chandler Long as Thorfinn/"Thor", Richie Moriarty as Peter "Pete" Martino, and Roman Zaragoza as Sasappis/"Sass".

The Hollywood Creative Alliance has announced their nominees for the 2025 Astra TV Awards, scheduled to take place on June 10 in Los Angeles.

Apple TV+'s comedy The Studio, a satire about the inner workings of Hollywood, topped the nominations list with 14 bids. The series is up for Best Comedy, with individual acting nominations for Seth Rogen (Best Comedy Actor), Ike Barinholtz (Best Comedy Supporting Actor), and dual Best Comedy Supporting Actress nods for Catherine O’Hara and Chase Sui Wonders.

In the drama categories, Apple TV+'s Severance and HBO's The Last of Us led the way with 13 nominations each. Both shows are recognized in multiple acting categories and are competing for Best Drama Series.

Other major contenders include The White Lotus and Ghosts, each earning 11 nominations, followed by Abbott Elementary, Hacks, and Only Murders in the Building with 10 nods each.

Is there love after life? According to Ghosts, the answer is a resounding “Yes!”

Over the CBS comedy’s run, the show’s many spirits have paired up (Thor and Flower), hooked up (Trevor and Hetty) or almost gotten hitched (Isaac and Nigel). In the Season 4 finale, a new twosome took a big step forward when Alberta realized her feelings for Pete and they shared a kiss after he broke up with girlfriend Donna. While the main cliffhanger revolves around the fate of Jay's (Utkarsh Ambudkar) soul after he signed a contract with Elias (Matt Walsh), who has upgraded his afterlife status to Demon, we're still curious about what's in store for the rest of our favorite characters. As far as relationships go, Season 4 took our ghosts all over the map — literally! It’s been a challenging year to be a fan of the FBI franchise.

All of the Main 8 ghosts have now had their powers revealed in Ghosts season 4. Pete has ranked them all, but he’s off when it comes to how great some powers are.

Pete had decided that there are different tiers of powers based on how effective and important they are. He uses the way they can connect to the world of the living, and the way he can get off the property. However, he’s overlooking a few great elements of a couple of powers, and Pete’s ability to roam isn’t all that great when you consider other aspects of the spirits’ abilities.

The spirits on Ghosts love their TV time, watching everything from Survivor and Selling Sunset to fictional programs like the reality series It’s Getting Hot in Here and the Succession-esque Night Sugar. But if Trevor had his way, he and his pals would only be watching one thing, all the time: The Cutting Edge.

Over the show’s four seasons, the finance bro has repeatedly referenced the 1992 sports romance, written by Tony Gilroy (!) and starring Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney as a figure skater and a former hockey player who team up to win the Olympics and each other’s hearts.

If you think I am about to rant about my favorite show, Ghosts, you are absolutely right. There’s a reason the series was renewed for two more seasons without anyone objecting.

The CBS show isn’t usually the kind of series with newsworthy episodic arcs.

Instead, Ghosts is more like a ninja, ensnaring viewers with brilliant comedy and genuine, heartfelt moments that blend seamlessly together. How diabolical.

In all seriousness, there is a reason why there aren’t many conversations surrounding this show. It’s also tied to why the show was given a double dose of renewal.

If you haven’t given Ghosts a chance, you’re not too late to the party, unlike these spirits. Honestly, I’m jealous of viewers who get to experience the series for the first time.
