Crunchyroll is promising an "unprecedented" theatrical release scale for arguably the most anticipated anime movie of 2025. Part 1 of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle film trilogy will be released in North America on Sept. 12, 2025.
Asa Suehira, Crunchyroll's Chief Content Officer, was interviewed by the Japanese news site Branc during the 2025 Anime Awards ceremony, which took place in Japan for the third year in a row. The interview covered a wide range of topics, including Japan's increasing voter participation in the Anime Awards, as well as Crunchyroll's rapid expansion outside the United States, such as into Latin America and South Asia. All this talk of growth eventually led to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle, the highly anticipated theatrical release that will conclude the Shonen Jump anime series.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle is a movie we’ve all been waiting for ever since the fourth season ended with the main characters getting trapped inside.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle will soon conclude the Demon Slayer anime TV series, six years after it premiered in 2019. However, based on a surprising production update, the release of the upcoming three-part theatrical film series could come much sooner than anticipated.
According to Japanese news site Oricon, Natsuki Hanae, Tanjiro Kamado's Japanese voice actor, revealed that the voice cast "recording for the Infinity Castle Arc has already wrapped up." Using "arc" over "part one" clarifies that the entire movie trilogy is being discussed, not just the upcoming first installment set for Sept. 12, 2025, in North America, which would likely have already completed recording some time ago given its Japanese release date of July 18, 2025. "It’s truly something incredible," Hanae said at a theatrical re-release of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train in Tokyo, Japan, on May 10, 2025.

There is no doubt that Shinichiro Watanebe’s upcoming Lazarus anime is one of the most anticipated Spring 2025 debuts, possibly the biggest one among the list (excluding returning shows). And while the production suffered a large hiatus, we now know that the anime is premiering on April 6, 2025 and to hype us up even more, the opening video for the anime has just been released.

Sung Jin-Woo is the main protagonist of Solo Leveling, and he is well on his way to becoming the strongest Hunter in the series. Jin-Woo gained the Shadow Monarch's Shadow Extraction ability at the end of the first season, and it allows Jin-Woo to resurrect defeated creatures and humans as Shadows. Jin-Woo's Shadow Army is quite strong, and it becomes more formidable each time he adds a powerful warrior. His Shadow army would become virtually unbeatable if he could add characters from other anime series to it.
Most of these anime characters are exceptional melee fighters and swordsmen, but one character in particular can destroy most of Jin-Woo's opponents with powerful magic. Most of these characters can take out A-Rank and S-Rank-level threats, and several of these anime characters can wipe out the Monarchs, an ancient race of monsters who serve as Solo Leveling's main antagonists.

Shonen anime has many recognizable traits. Its stories focus on teamwork and friendship. There's plenty of action to keep the story going. They're fun-filled and have plenty of humor to keep young readers intersted. However, another common trait is that their usually male protagonists don't act their age.
These immature protagonists pick fights too easily, eat way more than their body weight, and are filled with boundless energy. Some pick their noses. Others throw a fit when they're told to do something they don't want to do. Though these shonen protagonists are beloved, they're also way too immature for their own good.

Haikyuu!!'s protagonist, Shoyo Hinata, is filled with a boundless energy that can get him into trouble from time to time. While this energy is useful while playing volleyball, he is over-energetic outside the game too.

Haikyuu!! fans face an emotional serve in 2025. Two beloved films from the franchise, Haikyuu!! Movie 3: Genius and Sense and Haikyuu!! Movie 4: Battle of Concepts, were recently earmarked for a Dec. 31 removal from Netflix.
The departures, while bittersweet, might have one silver lining: the two films are both compilation entries, mostly just recapping moments from the anime’s third and fourth seasons, respectively. Genius and Sense streamlines Shoyo Hinata and company's battle against Shiratorizawa, while Battle of Concepts recaps Karasuno High’s key matchup against Inarizaki High. Kuudere characters in anime are some of the calmest, rarely showing emotions and instead remaining in a constant state of stoicism. While a tsundere character in anime might hide their true emotions, kuuderes aren't hiding anything they really are that calm. Kuudere characters aren't devoid of emotion, however. There are rare moments where a kuudere character will break, showing a brief flash of feeling. These moments are usually more fulfilling because of their stoicism, highlighting how important the situation must be if it made a kuudere care.

Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez is one of the most popular characters in Bleach because he is a violent and endearing villain. He was the Sixth Espada in Aizen's Arrancar army, and battled Ichigo Kurosaki several times. Many fans assumed Grimmjow had been mortally wounded by a fellow Espada, but the Thousand-Year Blood War revealed that he survived. Grimmjow has gotten much stronger since his last appearance, but there are several Sternritter from the Thousand-Year Blood War who can defeat him.
The Sternritter are extremely powerful Quincy, but certain Quincy possess overpowered and somewhat broken abilities that can defeat anyone, including Grimmjow. Some of these Sternritter are members of Yhwach's Royal Guard, and they have true god-tier powers. One Sternritter can beat Grimmjow with their teeth, and another can defeat him with love. One Sternritter can beat Grimmjow with his mind.

Its Game of Thronesian intrigue, benevolent Skeletor protagonist and surprising lack of gratuitous violence sets this series apart
Starting with the customary lore-hosing and predicated on the usual tumescent brawls and characters declaiming their power moves, Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom is still a bit removed from your average battle anime. The first standalone film adapted from the high-fantasy novel and manga series that kicked off in 2010, it has a quaint courtly dialogue style and, alongside the punch-ups, a penchant for realpolitik intriguing that sets it apart.
Targeted for conquest by sharp-tailored demon Jaldabaoth (voiced by Masayuki Kato), the Sacred Kingdom is in a world of hurt. So its stressy head paladin Remedios Custodio (Hitomi Nabatame), against her instincts, heads for the neighbouring Sorcerer Kingdom to beg its king Ains Ooal Gown (Satoshi Hino) for reinforcements. Ury Ishida is one of Bleach's central characters, and he plays a significant role in the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc. The anime recently revealed Ury's Quincy: Vollstndig transformation, which came as a surprise since he never used this technique in the manga. Quincy: Vollstndig enhances all of Urys physical abilities and it grants him access to special Energy Feathers that fire lethal energy projectiles. This form is strong, but there are several Bleach characters who can destroy Ury's Quincy: Vollstndig.
Many of the characters who can destroy Ury's Quincy: Vollstndig are Captain-ranked Soul Reapers with powerful Zanpakuto. Several high-ranked Quincy and a former Espada should be able to take Ury down as well. Most of these characters can destroy Ury's Quincy: Vollstndig because they possess insanely overpowered abilities.

Isekai series are some of the most popular and diverse in anime. Some isekai series send their characters to a new dark world without any good powers to rely on, like Re:Zero. Others, like Campfire Cooking, take a more absurd route and send their characters to fun worlds filled with jokes and adventures. Humor in isekai gets to be different from other genres of anime because the main character is in an entirely new environment. They usually have their memories from their old life too, making their reactions to their new world hilarious.
The funniest isekai series all have their own unique style. The humor found in a series like Drifters is totally different from the jokes in KonoSuba, and that's perfect. Each funny isekai series does their own thing, bringing a fun theme to the table in their own way.

The Soul King is basically the god of the Bleach universe because he maintains the cosmic balance between the Human World, Hueco Mundo, and the Soul Society. At some point in the past, the Soul King was sealed inside a crystal that was designed to be impenetrable. That said, there are several characters who should be able to destroy the crystal and the Soul King.
Several Quincy and Soul Reapers can destroy the Soul King because they possess incredible and somewhat overpowered abilities. A high-tanking Espada might be able to destroy him as well. Ichigo Kurosaki destroyed the crystal and the Soul King because he possesses Quincy, Hollow, Soul Reaper, and Fullbringer powers, and certain characters can theoretically destroy him in the same way.

Black Clover's Asta is one of the freshest shnen protagonists to emerge since the end of the original Big Three. He's always putting his best foot forward and rarely has a frown on his face. He's easy to root for, works harder than anyone else in Black Clover, and is one of the strongest characters in the series. There are several other anime heroes that share these traits with him, making their series as easy-to-watch as Black Clover.
Asta's biggest characteristics are his unflinching dedication to his goals and his friends, his almost supernatural charm and enthusiasm, and, of course, his naive innocence. There are a range of anime heroes that share these traits with the Anti-Magic swordsman. Some characters share Asta's enthusiasm, but aren't as naive to the world around him. Others have just as charismatic, but may have a darker side to their personality than Asta.

Blue Lock is a gripping sports anime starring Yoichi Isagi as he looks to become the best striker Japan has ever seen. Japan has never experienced victory at the World Cup either, and the Blue Lock program was designed to build a player strong enough to bring home the trophy. It's a device series in Japan, as a lot of Japanese people don't like the fun the anime pokes at them. Blue Lock is about creating the most egotistical striker ever, a player who will consume the other players around him if it means scoring a goal.
To be a good sports anime comparison to Blue Lock, a series doesn't necessarily have to be about soccer/football. The best comparisons will be highly competitive, feature fierce characters who will stop at nothing to win, and have heart-pounding moments of pure victory.

In July 2015, Season 1 of Madhouse's hit isekai anime, Overlord, premiered on Japanese television. Nearly 10 years later, Satoshi Hino, who voices main protagonist Suzuki Satoru/Ainz Ooal Gown, has shared his views on why the series continues to resonate with audiences both in and outside Japan.
Based on the titular light novel series created by author Kugane Maruyama and artist So-bin, Overlord belongs to isekai's "media transfer" sub-genre. As the name suggests, this genre typically features a main character who dies and is reborn into the world of a TV show or video game they played shortly before dying. In a recent interview with Mantan Web, Hino reflects on his experiences voicing Overlord's lead character -- an ordinary office worker who is reborn as a skeletal warrior inside an online video game known as "Yggdrasil."

Naruto dealt with many challenges and obstacles during his ninja journey, but he managed to overcome them all with his unwavering determination. Naruto may have been a knucklehead, but he has the natural ability to connect with others. At various points throughout the series, Naruto won over many characters who seemed lost, and they all became better people because of him.
Many of these Naruto characters were villains who wanted to hurt and even kill Naruto, while others were decent humans who simply lost their way. Naruto may have initially reached some of these characters through battle, but it was ultimately his words and empathy that won them over. He even won over beings who were the personification of hate.

The isekai genre offers a wide range of storytelling possibilities, from intense political thrillers to absurd comedies, making it incredibly appealing. The best isekai anime stand out by transcending tired tropes and adding something new to the genre. Unique and refreshing shows like Re:Zero and That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime challenge typical isekai conventions, offering a more serious and strategic approach to the genre.
With how many superb shows and movies fall into the genre, ranking the best isekai anime of all time has become quite a difficult task in modern years. Mushoku Tensei is undoubtedly one of the best isekai series out there. But fans still have several months to wait for Season 3 and more of Rudeus Greyrat's journey. Unfortunately, not all fans have the time to delve into light novels to get ahead especially since watching a show in the background while working is how a lot of fans consume their favorite shows.
Isekai as a genre has been around for a while and has adapted and changed over the years. Some series lean more into the fantasy or science fiction elements, others go full fan service, and still others jump headfirst into videogame worlds and dungeon diving. Every day, viewers have more and more options to pick from when it comes to anime, and as luck has it, isekai series like Mushoku Tensei are at an all-time high in popularity. The Sharingan is one of the strongest kekkei genkai in Naruto, and it has been passed down through the Uchiha Clan for generations. This ocular kekkei genkai can see chakra, and it allows the user to copy any jutsu they see. The Sharingan grants incredible visual perception, allowing the user to read their opponent's movements. The base Sharingan is a tad overpowered in Naruto, but there are a few characters from Bleach who can counter it.
Most of the Bleach characters who can counter the Sharingan possess great spiritual power and somewhat broken abilities. Many of these Characters are high-level Soul Reapers and Quincies, but there is also an Arrancar that can make the Sharingan's visual prowess useless. The Sharingan can place others under a special type of genjutsu, but this would have no effect on Bleach characters since none of them possess chakra.

One of the main reasons why Demon Slayer became such a big phenomenon among anime and manga fans was the series’ ability to impact the emotional chords of the viewers. While the animations, the characters, and the storyline are great, the main element that helped the series achieve success was its heartfelt moment.
Demon Slayer Mugen Train
Since the first episode was released in 2019, the series has been an emotional rollercoaster ride. Many fans believe that the most emotional part of the entire series was from the Mugen Train arc, which was developed into a movie called Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba—The Movie: Mugen Train. The movie was such a big success that it was the highest-grossing film of 2020.
In an interview, the voice actor of Tanjiro, Natsuki Hanae revealed his first reaction after watching the final animation of the movie and what he thought of the first Demon Slayer movie as a whole.

The world of Japanese anime and manga has plenty of scary and chilling series for fans of Halloween, horror movies, and Gothic fiction. This year, Halloween is going to be scarier than ever for Halloween fans. A variety of series are dedicated to horror or Gothic culture, and others feature at least a few horror elements.
Plenty of anime series feature characters perfect for Halloween, from bloodthirsty vampires to brutal werewolves and scary or cute witches. This even includes skeletons that persist even after all their flesh is rotted away. Animated skeletons are nearly as popular as zombies in horror fiction, and these anime characters are here to prove it.
Updated on February 28th, 2024 by Chelsea Steele: Skeletons are an iconic staple within the horror genre. But while in most media they're simply a spooky setpiece to help create the tone, anime skeletons are often a little more creative.
