Comics are an intimidating medium, which is ironic considering how many of us had formative reading experiences with comic books. But there’s a perception (that isn’t always unfounded) that if you aren’t constantly keeping up with comics, especially superhero comics, you’ll fall too far behind, get lost, and never get caught up. Or that you’ll be roped into buying a bunch of books that you’re not into just to “understand” the ones you’re following. Or that it’s all superheroes all the time.
Well, we say…to hell with that noise! Comics are no different than TV or movies in that there’s an infinite array of genres and tones to indulge yourself in, and even well-established long-running characters routinely set easy jumping on points for newer readers. It’s a new year, and there’s no better time to get into (or back into) reading comics.

With Deadpool 3 almost written and just about ready to begin filming, fans are ecstatic about what Ryan Reynold and Hugh Jackman have in store, especially since Wolverine will be returning to the big screen again after five years. In the meantime, new and old fans of the Deadpool franchise have been on cloud nine while searching for his most memorable comics.
From the start of it all in 1991 when Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld co-created the chaotic antihero, to Daniel Way’s humor-focused writing of Deadpool in 2008, Wade Wilson has had some of the funniest lines in comic book history. Though Joe Kelly’s iconic run as the writer for Deadpool in 1997 defined the character for the lovably comedic yet deep man he is, which comics does Reddit consider the funniest of all?

Ryan Reynolds’ original hit Deadpool movie was filled to the brim with Easter eggs and inside-baseball references to Marvel and its creatives. Almost every scene in the fourth-wall-breaking blockbuster includes some kind of wink to the audience, whether it’s an in-joke from the comics, a nod to the confusing timelines of Fox’s X-Men franchise, or a shout-out to one of the creators who brought the Merc with a Mouth into existence. Some of these references are obvious, while others are picked up by eagle-eyed viewers on rewatches.
True to its title character, the first Deadpool movie was jam-packed with pop culture references, like the post-credits scene from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. But the well that the writers come back to more than any other frame of reference is the history of Marvel Comics and its many different movie adaptations. Easter eggs are common in comic book movies...

Disney's Big Hero 6 was a great movie, and I was hoping that we'd get to see a sequel somewhere down the road. Well, the studio has announced that Walt Disney Animation Studios will be continuing the story of the Academy Award winning film in a series that will be coming to Disney Xd. The show is currently in production and it is set to debut sometime in 2017.
The Big Hero 6 film was inspired by the Marvel Comics characters that were created by Man of Action's Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau. The series will be brought to life by executive producers Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley, who are the creators and showrunners of Kim Possible.
Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide, had this to say in a statement:
"Our colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios have created a brilliant new world, inspired by Marvel,...

We’ve got seven new screens from the upcoming Generator Rex: Agent Of Providence game, inspired by the cartoon series from Man of Action (Ben 10). The screens show off three newly announced power-ups/abilities found in Agent Of Providence, while featuring some of the more explosive action scenes. Smack Hands – Upper Cut The Upper Cut upgrade sends EVOs into the air with a crushing strike. To deliver the final blow, Rex can then follow up that attack with a ground slam to deal massive damage! Bfs – Dash Thrust When used, it makes him dash forward with a powerful stab attack. This direct blow even affects multiple enemies at once! It’s overwhelming strength is most effective in close quarters. Slap Cannon – Extended Rate of Fire This move gives Rex an extended rate of fire. This upgrade increases how many times he is able to fire the Slam Cannon before he has to reload.

After eight seasons of portraying eccentric characters like Andy the “Ohhhhhhhh, Noooooooo!” guy and totally heroic ones like MacGruber, Will Forte will not return for this fall’s 36th season of Saturday Night Live, according to the New York Times. Forte’s parting was reportedly at his own choosing and he plans to pursue other projects. [ArtsBeat]
During an interview this May prior to the release of the MacGruber feature film, Forte told EW, “I can’t imagine not being [at SNL]… It’s the longest job I’ve had. But you can’t stay forever. I love working there, though. And I...
