UK drama The Gathering was the big winner at the Golden Nymph Awards, which were announced at the closing ceremony of the Monte-Carlo TV Festival.
The series won the Golden Nymph for Best Series and triumphed in both acting categories; Eva Morgan scooped Best Actress and Warren Brown Best Actor. The World Productions’ drama centers on a violent attack on a teenage girl during an all-night rave. It won over the Festival’s fiction jury, which was headed by Seal Team star David Boreanaz.
Rachel Griffiths’ New Zealand-set drama Madam won Best Creation. It follows Mack, a woman who discovers her husband is seeing a sex worker, which sets off a chain of events that sees her setting up an ethical brothel.
