Action icon Jason Statham saw huge success last year with the wild action thriller The Beekeeper, with a sequel now officially on the way. The James Bond franchise is undergoing arguably its biggest shake-up in history. As well as Daniel Craig being replaced as the eponymous spy, the franchise is under new ownership, with Amazon MGM Studios having bought the rights to the IP earlier this year. With the next movie currently in development, all eyes are on who will play the next James Bond. Every fan has their favorite pick. One fan who knows a thing or two about being a good 007 is Pierce Brosnan, who played the iconic character four times on the big screen, and the Irish star has defined what makes an actor worthy of taking on the mantle.

The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum has had many Lord of the Rings fans speculating on which original stars of the franchise could be returning to the screen in roles that they made their own over 20 years ago. Among those is Orlando Bloom, who not only played Legolas the elf in the original Peter Jackson trilogy, but also reprised his role a decade later in The Hobbit movies. So could he bring Legolas back to screens one more time in this latest addition to the franchise?

In the sprawling world of the MCU, characters come and go, and some even come back again. Former Superman Henry Cavill will star in the upcoming live-action remake of the beloved ‘80s animated TV series Voltron, and the movie just got a major update. The sci-fi action outing is all set to be released by Amazon, and while there have been rumors that the Voltron adaptation will go straight to streaming on Prime Video, producer Bob Koplar has now teased that nothing has yet been decided.

Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal's The Accountant 2 is looking to make waves at the box office this weekend, but if Thursday's preview numbers are any indication as to how things will go, the action sequel might just end up being Force choked out of the #2 spot by a 20-year-old Star Wars movie. As fans finally get their first look at Andor Season 2, the show has already become the best entry in the Star Wars franchise in the eyes of critics. While the story of Cassian Andor is obviously set in the galaxy far, far away, and despite being more grounded than many Star Wars projects is still a sci-fi drama, creator Tony Gilroy and star Genevieve O'Reilly reflected on the way one dark aspect of the series is very much a mirror of the real world.

The world of Star Wars has come a long way since George Lucas played around with a few miniature models and turned them into the basis for a franchise that would span over five decades and become one of the most profitable IPs in the world. As the creator of Andor, Tony Gilroy has become a big part of the current success of the franchise, but as he revealed to MovieWeb’s George Edelman, that doesn’t necessarily mean he has become the best buddy of the franchise’s godfather.

Andor is set to release its second and final season over the coming weeks, starting with the first three-episode drop on Disney+ on April 22. Ahead of the season premiere, Gilroy revealed that he has, surprisingly, only ever had one conversation with Lucas about the franchise.

“I've only spoken to George Lucas once on the phone after Rogue [One] came out, I spoke to him.

The Andor panel at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Japan included several cast and crew members on stage, including Diego Luna. However, the real surprise came later.

Andor is coming to Disney+ this week, but can it possibly deliver on the incredible promise created by the first season’s success? According to first reactions, it can, and not only that, but it will continue to define the quality that all other Star Wars shows and movies should be aiming to replicate – even though they probably won’t.

Andor’s first season in 2021 arrived with a completely different kind of Star Wars show. Tony Gilroy has made an incredible impact on the Star Wars franchise, and his journey seems set to come to an end with the conclusion ofAndor. Season 2 is ready to launch on Disney+ and will bridge the gap between the first season and Rogue One, but after that, well, the story is told and everyone moves on.

War Machine is directed by Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) from a script he co-wrote with James Beaufort. According to the brief synopsis, War Machine follows "the final recruits of a grueling special ops boot camp who encounter a deadly force from beyond this world." Welliver has played Harry Bosch for more than a decade, first in Bosch and then Bosch: Legacy. Now, as the second series comes to a close, the actor has been reflecting on how there is a very good reason why the character has endured, and continues to be incredibly popular after more than 10 years on screen.

"Bosch is the quintessential anti hero. He's fallible. He's not just a guy wearing a white hat with the pearl-handled two guns. He's got way more depth. Anti heroes tend to have more depth.
