Masters of the Universe is already ramping up its hype, having released teasing images of Nicholas Galitzine’s He-Man, the Power Sword, and revealed the new logo for what Amazon MGM Studios are already promoting as “the global phenomenon.” However, there are many secrets of the revival of the 80s franchise to come, including first looks at character such as Skeletor, Man-At-Arms, and Evil-Lyn. In a recent interview with MovieWeb's George Edelman, Evil-Lyn actress Alison Brie shared her excitement to be part of the movie and playing up to the legacy of the villainous second in command to Skeletor.
Brie’s casting as Evil-Lyn was announced early in the movie’s production, which finally got underway and wrapped earlier this year after many years of delays and misfire attempts to bring the muscleman of Eternia back to the big screen for the first time in almost 40 years. Teasing what the...

Ironhearthas been given a rough ride by some viewers for a variety of both usual and unexpected reasons. However, in the season finale, the arrival of Sacha Baron Cohen as Mephisto has sparked something that has been waiting to catch first for years. While audiences only get a glimpse of the devil behind the façade – an ingenious moment of reflection, pun fully intended – there is certainly more to come from the dark Marvel deal-maker. While that could happen anywhere, while speaking to MovieWeb’s own George Edelman, Ironheart EP Sev Ohanian seemed to suggest that there is a lot of hope that Ironheart will not become another Moon Knight.
Ironheart has been gaining strong scores from critics, and for those who like their Marvel offerings to be full of the usual big action moments, several plot devices, and dialogue that drips “comic book,” then the series has provided all of that.

The seemingly unstoppable Yellowstone franchise continues, with the Taylor Sheridan-created series launching another spin-off centered on fan-favorite character Kayce Dutton, played once again by Luke Grimes. MovieWeb’s own George Edelman got the chance to speak with Grimes recently amid the release of the dark comedy Western Eddington, with the actor teasing what’s to come in the Yellowstone sequel series, Y: Marshals.
Discussing the development of Y: Marshals, Grimes revealed that the follow-up will open up the world far more than Yellowstone ever did, while giving Kayce the chance to carve his own path and find his place within that world.
"I can't say it too much about it (Y: Marshals), but, you know, I will say that the story that we've started to figure out for him really opens up the world for him in a way that Yellowstone sort of couldn't. You know, he was always...

Scream 7, the official return of the Scream franchise after a three-year hiatus, is set for release in February 2026. Fans remain clueless about the details of the slasher sequel, with Paramount Pictures keeping things close to the chest. During filming, the cast and crew were vocal when speaking about the horror sequel, but lately, things have been quiet on the Ghostface front. Fortunately, Anna Camp, one of the franchise's newcomers, has spilled a few details. However, Camp did not spoil anything important, and simply preferred to raise anticipation about the return of none other than Sidney Prescott herself, Neve Campbell.
In an exclusive interview with MovieWeb's George Edelman, Camp talked about her arrival in one of the most beloved horror franchises of all time. It's been a long time coming for the actor whose previous horror credentials include TV appearances in True Blood, Creepshow and You. Camp's latest work is the action comedy Bride Hard,...

MovieWeb's George Edelman caught up with Ackie to talk about the upcoming film, which reunites The Beekeeperstar with Angel Has Fallen and Greenland director Ric Roman Waugh. Action icon Jason Statham saw huge success last year with the wild action thriller The Beekeeper, with a sequel now officially on the way. With his return as the world’s best assassin-turned-beekeeper-turned-assassin again, there are plenty of previous franchises led by The Stath that could come back for more, with one of the actor and martial artist’s former directors eager to work with the action superstar again.
Speaking with MovieWeb’s own George Edelman, director Simon West, who helmed the Statham vehicles The Expendables 2, Wild Card, and The Mechanic, says he’d love to reunite with The Stath and is “sure” they will do something again in the future. So, could The Mechanic 3 finally be on the cards?
“Yeah, yeah. I mean, I've done three movies with Jason, and we always enjoy working with each other. And I think, you know, we're both proud of the films we did together.

The James Bond franchise is undergoing arguably its biggest shake-up in history. As well as Daniel Craig being replaced as the eponymous spy, the franchise is under new ownership, with Amazon MGM Studios having bought the rights to the IP earlier this year. With the next movie currently in development, all eyes are on who will play the next James Bond. Every fan has their favorite pick. One fan who knows a thing or two about being a good 007 is Pierce Brosnan, who played the iconic character four times on the big screen, and the Irish star has defined what makes an actor worthy of taking on the mantle.
During an interview with MovieWeb's George Edelman, Pierce Brosnan discussed the future of James Bond and what the next actor to play the role will need in order to succeed. Much like Bond himself, Brosnan's advice was no-nonsense and to the point.

The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum has had many Lord of the Rings fans speculating on which original stars of the franchise could be returning to the screen in roles that they made their own over 20 years ago. Among those is Orlando Bloom, who not only played Legolas the elf in the original Peter Jackson trilogy, but also reprised his role a decade later in The Hobbit movies. So could he bring Legolas back to screens one more time in this latest addition to the franchise?
While speaking to MovieWeb’s George Edelman about his new movie, Deep Cover, Bloom addressed his possible return to Middle Earth in The Hunt for Gollum, and it seems like it would be a no-brainer – but with one caveat. He said:
“I think first of all, I’d like to see [Legolas] the same age as he was [in the original trilogy]. So, AI would have to come into play.

The crossover between the samurai and the western genres is one of the biggest and most important intersections in cinema history. Every movie buff knows that westerns influenced samurai movies, which inspired westerns, which influenced the samurai genre to evolve, with the back-and-forth repeating for several more cycles. Tornado, a new action thriller directed by John Maclean, is a love letter to both genres as it blends the tropes, conventions, and iconography of samurai and western movies to create a truly unique amalgamation. As you'd then expect, Maclean was inspired by some true classics, as well as some lesser-known gems of both genres.
John Maclean sat down with MovieWeb's George Edelman to discuss his new feature, Tornado. The film held its world premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival in February of this year, and is set for a wider theatrical release on June 13. Tornado is far from Maclean's first western — 2015's Slow West,...

The Life of Chuck stars several stars who have had more than a passing presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Hiddleston, who leads the new Stephen King adaptation, will be returning to the world of Marvel as Loki in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, but is there a place in the saga for co-stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Karen Gillan? MovieWeb’s George Edelman asked the pair about their potential MCU return while discussing their latest movie.
In the sprawling world of the MCU, characters come and go, and some even come back again. Ejiofor made his first appearance as Karl Mordo in Doctor Strange, and the post-credit scene suggested the character was set to take on a mission to eradicate sorcery from the world. However, that story has never been followed up, but the actor did play an alternate version of the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

There's no denying that the Star Wars fandom can be a cantankerous bunch sometimes, but mostly, it's been an important part of pop culture since George Lucas launched his seminal 1977 film that helped change the landscape of science fiction cinema. Despite its divisive nature at times, however, there is one person who sees nothing but the good in all of it: The Mandalorian's Katee Sackhoff.
Speaking with MovieWeb's own George Edelman to discuss her new action comedy with Josh Hartnett, Fight or Flight, the subject of Star Wars inevitably came up. Sackhoff was no stranger to sci-fi before then thanks to her time on Battlestar Galactica as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, but she became known to fans as Bo-Katan Kryze in the animated shows The Clone Wars and Rebels, and for portraying the live-action version of the character in The Mandalorian. For Sackhoff, she had nothing but good things to say about the Star Wars fandom,...

The world of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new Dcu is only just getting started, and there are more surprises to come in the next several years. With plenty of characters still to be cast, many names have started to surface in relation to some of the possible players in movies such as The Bold and the Brave, the first main Batman-orientated project currently on the Dcu slate. One character that many fans have already cast in that project – or a stand-alone movie – is Poison Ivy, with several suggesting that Karen Gillan should team up with her Guardians of the Galaxy director again as the plant-loving Batman villain. However, it looks like the Nebula actress has competition from Katee Sackhoff, who is currently best known as The Mandalorian’s Bo-Katan Kryze.

The long (and we mean long) awaited reboot of the beloved action fantasy franchise Highlander is closer than ever before. Speaking exclusively with MovieWeb’s own George Edelman, director Chad Stahelski has now confirmed that the Highlander reboot, which will star former Superman Henry Cavill as the titular immortal warrior, is his next project.
Alongside Highlander, Stahelski is also busy crafting the ever-growing world of John Wick, and while reflecting on taking his time and being careful when expanding the franchise, and the franchises to come, the director revealed that he has been scouting in New York for the Highlander reboot and will finally helm the project next. Check out what Stahelski had to say below...

Chad Stahelski has done something incredible with the John Wick franchise, taking what could have been a one-off, throwaway action movie and turning it into an expanding universe. Now a new documentary, Wick is Pain, is drawing back the curtain on what has made the John Wick franchise so special. Movieweb’s George Edelman recently spoke to the director about his work on Wick, and Stahelski explained how he purposely set out to make a movie that stood apart from its contemporaries.
“We were coming up in a time of Taken and Bourne,” Stahelski said, "and everything was shaky cam and fast editing. Whether or not it was used to input something into the scene, energy or kineticism, or whether it was to hide limitations or things, whatever the reason behind the creative team doing it like that, just wasn't interesting to me. I don't think it's bad, I don't think it's good.

Image Source: Walt Disney For years, fans of adventure cinema—and especially Nicolas Cage—have held out hope for one more chapter in the thrilling saga of National Treasure. The 2004 original and its 2007 sequel, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, cemented their legacy in the genre, sparking a nearly two-decade-long question: would Benjamin Franklin Gates ever return for another code-cracking, globe-trotting mission? Now, a glimmer of hope pierces the wait. In a recent conversation with MovieWeb’s George Edelman while promoting his latest film, The Surfer, Cage dropped a tantalizing tease. When asked about the possibility of National Treasure 3, he offered a cryptic but hopeful reply: “Don’t know. I do know that there’s been more chatter about it than normal.” While it’s not the confirmation fans have been craving, that little bit of “chatter” is enough to set off a ripple of excitement. Could it finally be happening?...

Just days after Another Simple Favor finally brought Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick back to Prime Video, the Paul Feig-directed sequel has claimed the top spot on the global movie chart. While the film has gained mixed reviews, the controversy surrounding its star has no doubt helped to give the movie a push, and following the success of any movie, questions turn to whether there is still enough fuel in the tank for another outing.
MovieWeb’s George Edelman recently caught up with Paul Feig to discuss the new release, and asked the director if he believes there is a chance that Kendrick’s Stephanie Smothers is likely to do Lively’s Emily Nelson yet another simple favor in the future? For Feig, it is certainly not out of the question.
“I mean, you know, they've evolved so much, the two characters, you know, especially Stephanie, who is in such a completely different place.

Nicolas Cage fans have been teased by the actor’s possible return to one of his beloved franchises for many years now, and it seems that they may have to wait a bit longer as the actor recently shared a disappointing, if slightly optimistic, view on the chancesof National Treasure 3 ever happening.
Cage is currently starring in The Surfer, another wild and unpredictable movie that has landed a strong set of reviews for the actor. While promoting the film, Cage spoke to MovieWeb’s George Edelman, and as well as discussing his current movie, he gave a short response to the chances for fans finally getting to see Benjamin Franklin Gates heading out in search of another “national treasure” in the near future. Nicolas Cage is an actor who has played many different characters on screen, and for most fans, he is at his best when he is portraying someone massively unpredictable or eccentric. However, while speaking to MovieWeb’s George Edelman about his new movie The Surfer, the award-winning actor revealed several characters he would love to play in a project – and his unexpected love of real-life, historical characters may surprise you.
Recently, Cage has been having a huge renaissance, delivering some of the best and most diverse roles of his career. From Dracula, to a disturbing serial killer, to a man with a pig, and even an exaggerated (just a little) version of himself, Cage has often chosen to play roles that are unconventional and memorable for many reasons. However, given the choice, he would love to take on a classic Jules Verne character and several people from history. He said:

Jason Statham scored one of his highest Rotten Tomatoes scores thanks to his action-comedy thriller, Spy, directed by Paul Feig and costarring Melissa McCarthy. Even 10 years after its release, the film is a constant chart-topper on various streaming platforms, but despite the success of the movie, and the world’s endless supply of love for Statham’s brand of brash, bald, brutality – even in a comedic setting – it seems that Feig doesn’t see a sequel happening.
While many movies have been riding the wave of nostalgic legacy sequels, it seems that, despite currently promoting his new movie, Another Simple Favor, Feig doesn’t consider himself much of a “sequel chaser.” Speaking with MovieWeb’s George Edelman, the director said of a possible reunion with Statham and McCarthy:
“I don't know. I mean, of all my movies, that's probably the one that would make most sense to do another one of.

Wednesday fans have been waiting patiently – or impatiently in many cases – for the second season of Tim Burton’s reworking of The Addams Family to bring Jenna Ortega’s take on the daughter of Morticia and Gomez Addams back to Netflix. Now, the new season is only several months away – a lifetime, we know – but the hype around the new season has already started, and one person happy to buzz up Season 2 is star Luis Guzmán.
Guzmán follows Raul Julia and Tim Curry in taking on the role of The Addams Family patriarch Gomez, and in many ways his take on the character is much more in line with Charles Addams’ original comic strip character than any of his previous appearances. While speaking to MovieWeb’s George Edelman about his new movie, the Tom Hardy actioner Havoc, Guzmán shared a tease of Wednesday Season 2, noting that everyone is going to...

Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal's The Accountant 2 is looking to make waves at the box office this weekend, but if Thursday's preview numbers are any indication as to how things will go, the action sequel might just end up being Force choked out of the #2 spot by a 20-year-old Star Wars movie. Expected to take #1 for a second week in a row is Ryan Coogler's horror flick Sinners, and while The Accountant 2 was initially thought to come in a close second, it appears as if the 20th anniversary re-release of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith could hinder those plans.
Per Deadline, The Accountant 2 managed to take in $2.5 million dollars in previews before its wide release today, and that includes the money earned from a special "Tax Day" screening that took place on April 15. Meanwhile, Revenge of the Sith – which was first...

As fans finally get their first look at Andor Season 2, the show has already become the best entry in the Star Wars franchise in the eyes of critics. While the story of Cassian Andor is obviously set in the galaxy far, far away, and despite being more grounded than many Star Wars projects is still a sci-fi drama, creator Tony Gilroy and star Genevieve O'Reilly reflected on the way one dark aspect of the series is very much a mirror of the real world.
While speaking to MovieWeb’s George Edelman ahead of the Season 2 premiere, Gilroy explained how a version of the Star Wars Empire is, and always has been, alive and well in the world we live in.
Tony Gilroy: “Power always redefines the truth, right? It's always done that, and in the show, the truth is being warped in service of the destruction of a culture. So,...

The world of Star Wars has come a long way since George Lucas played around with a few miniature models and turned them into the basis for a franchise that would span over five decades and become one of the most profitable IPs in the world. As the creator of Andor, Tony Gilroy has become a big part of the current success of the franchise, but as he revealed to MovieWeb’s George Edelman, that doesn’t necessarily mean he has become the best buddy of the franchise’s godfather.
Andor is set to release its second and final season over the coming weeks, starting with the first three-episode drop on Disney+ on April 22. Ahead of the season premiere, Gilroy revealed that he has, surprisingly, only ever had one conversation with Lucas about the franchise.
“I've only spoken to George Lucas once on the phone after Rogue [One] came out, I spoke to him.

The Andor panel at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Japan included several cast and crew members on stage, including Diego Luna. However, the real surprise came later.
The attendees got to see the second season's first episode before its official release on Disney+. Some of the fans who were present at the viewing and others who got an opportunity at an early screening shared their opinions on social media.
Jason Concepcio wrote, "Andor Season 2 is outrageously good."
Star Wars Holocron gave a more detailed breakdown after watching all 12 episodes of season 2. "This season is more mature and relevant than any other Star Wars project," they said. "The show explores difficult topics never explored before in Star Wars, and handles them with incredible grace and thoughtfulness." They also added what the Andor cast and crew have been saying for a while: Season 2 changes our perspective on Rogue One and A New Hope.

Andor is coming to Disney+ this week, but can it possibly deliver on the incredible promise created by the first season’s success? According to first reactions, it can, and not only that, but it will continue to define the quality that all other Star Wars shows and movies should be aiming to replicate – even though they probably won’t.
Andor’s first season in 2021 arrived with a completely different kind of Star Wars show. While The Mandalorian delivered the inner child-pleasing lightsaber fights, space battles, and a collection of colorful characters and fan-service returns, Andor stood as a mature and deep drama set within a world that often demands the fantastical. And boy did it pay off. Now Andor Season 2 has the impossible task of not messing up the legacy of Cassian Andor’s story, from both Season 1 and Rogue One.

Tony Gilroy has made an incredible impact on the Star Wars franchise, and his journey seems set to come to an end with the conclusion ofAndor. Season 2 is ready to launch on Disney+ and will bridge the gap between the first season and Rogue One, but after that, well, the story is told and everyone moves on.

Daredevil: Born Again brought Season 1 to a violent and thrilling conclusion with plenty of teases about what is to come next in the franchise. However, for all the brutal violence and animosity on-screen, one star of the series has shed light on how production on the series is made “safe” thanks to the “gem of a human” that is Charlie Cox.
Speaking to MovieWeb’s George Edelman, Born Again star Margarita Levieva, who plays Heather Glenn, hyped up the man who has brought Daredevil to life incredibly for over a decade. Reacher star Alan Ritchson will continue to throw his impressive weight around with his upcoming Netflix sci-fi action movie, War Machine, in which he stars with Hollywood icon Dennis Quaid. The first season of Daredevil: Born Again is now gearing up to bring the Man Without Fear’s return to an action-packed and emotional conclusion, and one of the stars has arrived to add to the already palpable hype. After making his (sort of) MCU debut on Netflix back in 2015, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is back on Disney+, and Margarita Levieva has nothing but praise for the imminent finale.

Titus Welliver is saying goodbye to Harry Bosch with the end of Bosch: Legacy in sight - at least for a short while. Ahead of the series finale, the much-loved actor spoke to MovieWeb's George Edelman about his time playing Michael Connelly's dogged detective, including an astute analysis of how the character really falls into many of the same categories as Batman.
Welliver has played Harry Bosch for more than a decade, first in Bosch and then Bosch: Legacy. Now, as the second series comes to a close, the actor has been reflecting on how there is a very good reason why the character has endured, and continues to be incredibly popular after more than 10 years on screen.
"Bosch is the quintessential anti hero. He's fallible. He's not just a guy wearing a white hat with the pearl-handled two guns. He's got way more depth. Anti heroes tend to have more depth.
