Prime Video announced that it has renewed its critically acclaimed global hit series, Fallout, for a third season at Amazon’s annual upfront presentation. The move comes ahead of the show’s second season, which is set to premiere in December 2025.

Fallout is produced by Kilter Films, with executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner also serve as executive producers, creators, and showrunners.

To date, Fallout season one has accumulated more than 100 million viewers worldwide, ranking among the service’s top three most-watched titles ever.

The Prime Video video game adaptation returns for Season 2 in December 2025, but plans for more are already well underway. The streamer announced at its Upfronts event that the post-apocalyptic series had already been renewed for a third season.

The Amazon-owned streamer has given an early season three renewal to Fallout, which instantly became one of Prime Video’s biggest shows when it debuted April 2024. Season two is set to premiere in December.

Prime Video announced the early pickup at its upfront presentation Monday, with series stars Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten and Walton Goggins appearing on stage to reveal the season two premiere.

The second season of Prime Video's critically-acclaimed video game adaptation Fallout is still in production, but that hasn't stopped one of its main stars from teasing a "magical" new batch of episodes that elevates the series to another level. Walton Goggins, who recently starred in The White Lotus Season 3 and currently appears in The Righteous Gemstones, will once again be featured as the gun-toting immortal cowboy Ghoul in Fallout Season 2. He recently gave out some exciting details about the upcoming season, which "really starts cooking."

During an interview with Complex, Goggins was quick to praise Fallout Season 2, teasing fans that it will reach another level as a result of the first season laying the groundwork for the post-apocalyptic world and all of its quirks. As someone who has formed part of several beloved shows that have gone on for more than one season, Goggins is especially equipped to make this statement.

It’ll be a while until viewers return to the apocalyptic wasteland in Prime Video’s Fallout, but, nevertheless, Walton Goggins is providing an update to the second season of the breakout drama.

Speaking to Deadline at the red carpet premiere of The White Lotus Season 3, The Righteous Gemstones alum promised a bigger and better Season 2.

“We’re in the middle of filming it right now, we’ve been at it since November, and I can tell you that I thought Season 1 was extraordinary, personally, I was very pleased with it,” he said. “This blows it out of the water, what these writers have done and the artisans that have come together to tell this story. It’s really gonna be something. I can’t wait for people to see it. We’re working really hard to make that happen.”

One of the more underrated MCU stars from the past few years is joining another adaptation of an iconic franchise in Fallout Season 2.

According to industry reporter Jeff Sneider, Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani is set to join the second season of Fallout. Known for also starring in The Big Sick, Stuber, and the award-winning HBO comedy Silicone Valley, Nanjiani should prove to be another fascinating addition to the genre-bending post-apocalyptic series. It's easy to see how he would fit in with the hilariously dark and twisted show, especially thanks to his comedic talents.

Los Angeles area wildfires have forced many television shows, including Fallout and Grey's Anatomy to halt production. Officials warn that more filming permits may be revoked going forward.

FilmLA, who issues permits for shoots in Los Angeles, released a statement about the fires. "With deepest appreciation for the efforts of local firefighters, police and paramedics at this difficult time, we advise the production community that personnel resources ordinarily available to support film production may not be available during the local State of Emergency." As a result, many shows, including Amazon's second season of Fallout, are now stopping their filming schedules. Fallout is tentatively rescheduled for Friday.

Fallout season 2 gets a new production update, confirming that filming has been delayed due to the California wildfires. Based on the beloved video game franchise of the same name, the Prime Video series premiered last year, becoming a major viewership hit.

Deadline now shares a new update regarding Fallout season 2, revealing that the show was set to resume filming this week on Wednesday after a holiday break. As for where audiences will have seen Dye previously, the actor recently appeared in Stranger Things season 4 as Jason Carver, a Hawkins High basketball star and supporting antagonist.

“Frances Turner plays my wife and she is just an extraordinary actor. I so enjoyed their relationship as it was revealed to me over time,” star Walton Goggins told TheWrap. “We didn’t get all the scripts at once. I think we got the first three or four. There were conversations about where that relationship was headed, but I didn’t see it going there. “Fallout 76” has found a whole new world of players thanks to the popularity of Amazon’s “Fallout” TV series. The Bethesda Game Studios title, which first launched in October 2018, crossed 20 million downloads and plays as of Wednesday.

That is a jump from the 17 million players “Fallout 76” had totaled in December, ahead of the April 10 release of Jonathan Nolan’s “Fallout” TV adaptation on Prime Video.

“It’s kind of been sneaky popular for a while — but not to this level and it’s just been really great for the for the whole studio,” Bethesda director and executive producer Todd Howard, who oversees the “Fallout” franchise, told Variety.

In the under two months since the series premiered (and has already been picked up for a second season), daily active users across the “Fallout” video game franchise titles developed and published by Bethesda, a division of Microsoft Gaming, have ballooned over 600% to more than 5 million players.

Fallout has become one of Prime Video’s biggest series ever — according to Prime Video.

The well-reviewed show, based on the video game franchise of the same name, has become the second-most-watched title ever on the Amazon streaming service over its first 16 days of release, the company says. Prime Video says 65 million viewers worldwide have watched at least some of Fallout since its April 10 premiere, putting the show behind only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in the streamer’s catalog.

Global audiences have powered a majority of that viewing: More than 60 percent of Fallout’s audience is outside the United States. The (limited) data from Amazon jibes with that from outside sources like Samba TV, Luminate and Reelgood, all of which have tracked a strong start for the series (Nielsen’s streaming data lags by several weeks).

According to the streamer, the series pulled in 65 million viewers in its first 16 days of availability, with the first season dropping in its entirety on April 10. That makes it the second most-watched title ever on the platform and the most-watched title since the debut on “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” back in 2022.

Amazon also says the show is its most-watched ever among adults 18-34, with 60% of the show’s audience coming from outside the United States. In particular, the UK, France, and Brazil have all proven to be hubs for the show’s popularity.
