‘Regretting You’ Trailer: Allison Williams & Mckenna Grace Star As Mother And Daughter In Paramount’s Colleen Hoover Adaptation
Image
Paramount has unveiled the first trailer for Regretting You, its adaptation of the novel from bestselling author Colleen Hoover, starring Allison Williams and Mckenna Grace, which is slated for release in theaters on October 24.

Regretting You centers on the complex relationship between Morgan Grant (Williams) and her daughter, Clara (Grace). Morgan became a mother at a young age, putting her own dreams on hold to raise Clara. As Clara grows into a teenager, their relationship becomes strained, especially after a tragic accident claims the life of Chris, Morgan’s husband and Clara’s father.

The film is one of several that studios have fast-tracked following the success of the Blake Lively- and Justin Baldoni-led It Ends with Us, the Sony film based on Hoover’s hot novel, which grossed over $350 million worldwide. Pic’s cast also includes Dave Franco, Mason Thames, Sam Morelos, Scott Eastwood, Willa Fitzgerald and Clancy Brown.

Regretting You: Life and love are full of complications in the trailer for the Colleen Hoover adaptation
Image
Colleen Hoover’s stories are full of twists and turns. The Blake Lively film, It Ends With Us, put unconventional twists on the domestic abuse drama (that was only enhanced by the real-life drama outside of the movie). Another one of Hoover’s novels heads to the big screen. Regretting You stars Allison Williams, McKenna Grace, Dave Franco, Mason Thames, Sam Morelos, with Scott Eastwood, Willa Fitzgerald and Clancy Brown. The film comes from director Josh Boone and screenwriter Susan McMartin. Paramount has now released the trailer to the family drama.

The official synopsis reads,

“Based on the bestselling book, Regretting You introduces audiences to Morgan Grant (Allison Williams) and her daughter Clara (Mckenna Grace) as they explore what’s left behind after a devastating accident reveals a shocking betrayal and forces them to confront family secrets, redefine love, and rediscover each other. Regretting You is a story of growth,...

Image
The Colleen Hoover cinematic universe is expanding one twisted tragedy at a time. “Regretting You,” based on Hoover’s 2019 novel, stars Allison Williams and Dave Franco as members of an extended family whose lives are torn apart after an accident.

The people left behind can’t move forward without looking at the past. ‘Regretting You’ explores what’s left behind after a tragedy, the messiness and grief, but also the beauty of life and love.” Mckenna Grace, Scott Eastwood, Mason Thames, Sam Morelos, Ethan Samuel Costanilla, Willa Fitzgerald, and Clancy Brown co-star.

The first Hoover adaptation was “It Ends with Us,” starring Blake Lively, Brandon Sklenar, and Justin Baldoni, who also directed. The film was released in August 2024. In addition to “Regretting You,” other Hoover adaptations include...

Grendel First Look Reveals Creature Design For Jeff Bridges' Take On The Legendary Monster
Image
Earlier this year, we got word that a new live-action take on the tale of Beowulf is in development with an all-star cast on board. We've seen a number of animated and live-action adaptations of the ancient Danish legend over the years, but this one will be a little different.

Based on John Gardner’s acclaimed novel, Grendel will tell the story from the perspective of the monster, with Jeff Bridges set to provide the voice of the title character, and Dave Bautista on board as the mighty warrior who comes to Danish King Hrothgar's hall to put an end to the creature's rampage, Beowulf.

Now, Collider has unveiled our first look at the design for Grendel courtesy of Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

“That is really exciting because it also balances this very cerebral world that Grendel lives in, where he's trying to understand humans, and he's trying to find his place among them,...

Upcoming ‘Grendel’ Movie Confirms Star-Filled Cast, Including Jeff Bridges, Dave Bautista, Bryan Cranston, and Others…
Image
The story of Beowulf and Grendel is one of the most famous stories in English literature. The epic Beowulf is one of the most important works of English literature in general and it has been an inspiration for many authors over the centuries. We have also had numerous adaptations of the work, including the animated film from 2007, but all of them focused on the heroic tale of Beowulf, the hero of the story. But, the story also has another important character – Grendel – the monster and Beowulf’s rival in the story.

Grendel is finally going to get the chance to tell you his side of the story, as the movie Grendel will be released soon, with Palisades Park Pictures is launching international sales ahead of Cannes.

But that is actually not the main piece of news we have for you today. Namely, the cast of the upcoming movie has been...

‘Cabin Girl’ (2023) Ending, Explained: Why Was The Man Following Ava?
Image
When you have good performers and a decent story on hand, you would think to make it better by working on the screenplay in order to present the story in a better way. Cabin Girl, Jon D. Wagner’s latest directorial venture, is technically a thriller, but there are scary moments in the film that might put full-fledged horror films to shame. Yet, I still believe that it is a potential wasted or at least not fully realized. The problem with the film is its tonal shifts. At one point, it borrows from the ‘found footage’ subgenre and then proceeds to get inspired by the ‘cabin in the woods’ subgenre of horror films, ultimately ending up in a Shutter Island meets The Shining concoction, which does not necessarily work to give the film its satisfying ending.

The plot revolves around vlogging sensation Ava, who becomes famous after starting her channel...

Curvature Trailer Unlocks a Time Traveling Murder Mystery
Screen Media Films has released the first trailer and poster for Curvature, which puts an interesting twist on the time travel genre. The thriller stars Lyndsy Fonseca as a scientist, who must break into a top-secret facility in order to travel back in time and prevent a murder after receiving a mysterious phone call from herself. While we won't know for sure until next month when it hits theaters, this movie could be one of the first sleeper hits of 2018.

The film had its world premiere at the Shriekfest Film Festival in October, where it won Best Sci-Fi Feature, followed by a screening at the Stiges Film Festival. Screen Media Films has slated the film for release on February 23, 2018, in limited release and through on demand formats. While late February doesn't often produce box office blockbusters, there are four high-profile movies opening in wide release that weekend. Paramount's Annihilation,...

John Wagner Talks Judge Dredd Details
Karl Urban in Dredd (2012)
Jon D. Wagner recently interview and spoke about the upcoming updated rendition of Judge Dredd, simply titled Dredd.

The film is set in Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd, played by Karl Urban, is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot - if necessary. The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and the frenetic vision of director Peter Travis bring "Dredd" to life as a futuristic neo-noir action film that returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra's revered comic strip.

The comic writer had this to say about the direction of the new Judge Dredd character,

"Originally he was a very two-dimensional character, a vehicle for extreme behavior in an extreme society, more of a robot than a man.

The Anniversary at Shallow Creek (Review - New to video this week)
2010 - 90 mins. - Rated PG-13

D: Jon D. Wagner

C: Eric Fischer, Brick Patrick, Brianna Lee Johnson, Corey Reilly, Katharine Brandt, Jay Lasine, Annie Burgstede, Marina Lyon

Group of friends staying at a remote house for a little R & R find themselves trapped within the confines of their getaway as a masked killer traps them and then disposes of them.

Competently acted slasher lacks a basic understanding of how to utilize the tools that are at its disposal. Part of what makes a slasher suspenseful is that foreplay where the antagonists stalk the protagonists from afar slowly picking off victims until the characters fully discover what is going on. Instead "The Anniversary at Shallow Creek" skips all that and gets right to the action. Doing so, it missed out on opportunities to create tension. During the course of the film, the characters are trapped in one single location trying to...

The Anniversary at Shallow Creek and Shallow Predictability: A Movie Review
*a screener of this film was provided by

Breaking Glass Pictures.

**here be spoilers.

Director: Jon D. Wagner.

Writers: Eric Fischer and Brianna Lee Johnson.

The latest indie flick to come out of distribution house Breaking Glass Pictures is The Anniversary at Shallow Creek. This title releases on DVD July 5th and coincidently, this is a day that you will want to stay away from digital rental shops and Netflix queues. Bathed in horror cliches, The Anniversary at Shallow Creek is a B-movie that does not break any molds. Also, the film does not show any depth in story or characters and watching this film is much like being in detention or in a prison cell; you just do not want to be there.

The sound is on cue, but the camera used for photography seems overly bright for exterior shots and the picture is dull for interior sequences. The...

DVD Review: The Anniversary At Shallow Creek
The Anniversary at Shallow Creek is one of the better horror/thriller DVD’s I’ve watch in a while. Director Jon D. Wagner has a really cool film he’s delivered with everything a full blooded horror fanatic wants to see in a movie. We watch a group of friends travel to a nice beach house to party for a weekend and then all hell breaks loose. One by one our friends get picked off by a mask wearing stranger. We have some very brutal and emotionless kills just for sport. There’s also a little boy (one of the neighbors kids) who witnesses all of this and plays a key role in the outcome of the story.

Actor/producer husband wife team, Eric Fischer, Brianna Lee Johnson (who also wrote it) and Wagner along with Breaking Glass Pictures and Vicious Circle Films have a really cool horror film for the fans to watch.
