With filming of The Boys season 5 wrapped, focus is now on the next spinoff series in the works. It’s all about Vought Rising.
Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash will lead The Boys prequel series, bringing Soldier Boy and Stormfront back into the mix. As we know, both of these characters were around in the 1940s and 1950s, allowing for a prequel series about the growth of Vought International.
Like The Boys and its spinoff Gen V, the show needs more than two actors to run the series. Now that Vought Rising production is getting ready to start, we get to hear of more joining the cast.

Industry, one of the best HBO shows currently airing, just wrapped filming its fourth season, which means you have plenty of time to catch up if you aren't already watching this masterpiece. Created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, Industry follows a group of twenty-something London bankers in the high-pressure world of finance.
Starring Marisa Abela, Myha'la, Kit Harington, Harry Lawtey, and Ken Leung, the series became a genuine word-of-mouth hit for HBO, increasing in ratings and critical acclaim over its first three seasons. Though it takes place in the world of finance, Industry is concerned as much with the personal lives of its characters as it is their professional lives, culminating in a barn-burner of a third season that earned 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Now, in a video posted to his Instagram story, creator Konrad Kay has revealed that Industry season 4 has wrapped filming. In the video, as the wrapping...

When "Hereditary" was released, it was like a desperately-needed breath of fresh air for horror fans -- which was, of course, followed by a swerve, a telephone pole, and a headful of ants. Ari Aster certainly put his stamp on the genre with his 2018 debut feature, attracting audiences around the world with his story about a family engulfed by grief, shame, and dark supernatural forces that extend throughout their complicated lineage.
"Hereditary" was a certified hit for producer-distributor A24, becoming their highest-grossing film ever at the time (it has since been dethroned by the Academy Award-winning "Everything Everywhere All at Once"). Years later, it remains one of the films that defines the contemporary era of horror, inspiring viewers to indulge in more experimental and unsettling frights. For those looking for a follow-up to satisfy these cravings, we've put together a list of our favorite films like "Hereditary," including a wide...

These seven comedy picks didn’t get the hype they deserved — now’s your chance to catch up.
There is a lot of content out there. So much that it’s easy to miss some seriously great movies and shows buried under the weekly avalanche of buzzy new releases. That’s where this list comes in. Each week, I’ll pick one under-the-radar genre gem from each of the major streamers — stuff you might’ve never heard of (and that’s exactly the point). This week’s theme? Comedy movies. Next week, it’ll be something totally different (I’m full of surprises). So let’s get to it — here are my favorite under-the-radar comedy movies to stream on every major platform right now.

Wait, what the fork!? We’re getting a new Black Ops game?! The Xbox Games Showcase today just gave us the first look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. This is the first time the series has seen a yearly release in the history of the Call of Duty franchise. This upcoming game has a stacked cast, but one actor in particular might make you do a double-take.

The competition for who will play the next James Bond seems to be a pretty close one at present, with the likes of former Superman Henry Cavill, The Gentlemen star Theo James, and Bullet Train’s Aaron Taylor-Johnson usually topping the list. But now we have a new name slowly making his way up the ranking, and no doubt many fans would be eternally grateful if he were to win the 007 role in Amazon’s upcoming reboot.
Game of Thrones and Eternals star Richard Madden is now back in the fray, with his odds improving recently (via Paddy Power). Now standing at 12/1, Madden, who has shown off his affinity for action before in both the MCU, action thriller The Take, and the TV series Bodyguard, has been rumored for the role in the past and now joins the likes of Callum Turner, James Norton, and Tom Hardy as a fellow frontrunner.

Tornadoes can be terrifying, but that doesn't stop people from watching a movie about them. In real life, there are courageous storm chasers who start their potentially dangerous journey with one mission: to look a storm in its eye, or rather, get up close and personal to study it or admire its scary beauty. While when this happens in real life, fear takes over those at home getting alerts and warnings from meteorologists to take cover, movies like Twistersare entertainingly whirling up the charts. According to Flix Patrol, the 2024 film is among the top movies to watch on Prime Video.
It hasn't left the top ten on the chart and is currently staying in the top three. Twisters is a sequel to Twister (1996), which starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. The Glen Powell-led production follows a clashing group of storm chasers who investigate a tornado outbreak in Oklahoma.

Binge-drinking and smoking countless Luck Strikes were some of the hallmarks of Don Draper (Jon Hamm), in the beloved television series, Mad Men. Acclaimed and highly successful, Mad Men is one of those series for which the question of a reboot is often not far away, and rightly so. However, if Hamm has his way, the story of Don Draper is all done and shouldn't be revisited again. Set in the 1960s and following ad man, Don Draper, Mad Men ran from 2007 to 2015 on AMC. In the business of TV series where it's often difficult to nail a series finale, AMC's Mad Men did exactly that after seven seasons in impressive fashion.
Despite being a successful show and maintaining its relevance after so many years, Mad Men has not been rebooted or, at the very least, had its universe expanded through spin-offs. Despite its perfect ending and with the show being filled with rich characters,...

The pensive song builds to a rousing chorus as Kid Cudi reflects, “This universe has common ground/ Just takes a while to come around/ When I’m feeling up and I’m feeling down/ Reminds me that I’m still alive.”

Harper (Myha'la) has undergone significant changes throughout all three seasons of the HBO finance drama series Industry. From a young, hungry junior analyst to a young, hungry venture outfit founder, she has undergone significant growth in the past few years. These changes are seen in how she carries herself, be it her dressing style or hairstyle. The latter has evolved over the years, sparking some theories that these changes are integral to the character's development. Myha'la has seen and heard those theories, and she thinks there is something to them. "I don’t want to give anything away, but what I can say is: all of y’all tracking the hair, you’re all right," the actress recently said while this year's Met Gala. While her statement does not explicitly confirm what Harper's evolving hairstyle represents, chances are it will be addressed in subsequent seasons of the show.

Over the last few years, we’ve seen an uptick in holiday-centered horror fare. With movies like Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving and Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3 putting the fear back in festive, the subgenre is staged for a major comeback. Earlier this year, filmmaker Josh Ruben (Werewolves Within) blended slasher with rom-com when he unveiled his Valentine’s Day-themed feature, Heart Eyes. Now, three months since the film terrorized audiences in cinemas, it’s set to slice and dice its way onto streaming. Those looking to snuggle into a scarefest with their sweetie can switch on Netflix beginning May 8 when the Olivia Holt (Totally Killer) and Mason Gooding (Scream)-led film hits the platform.
The idea behind Ruben’s latest project is an intriguing one. From a screenplay co-penned by Phillip Murphy, Christopher Landon, and Michael Kennedy comes a story about a crazed serial killer who stalks couples on Valentine’s Day.

We have found our original owner of the Mockingjay pin. Lionsgate has announced that Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) has been cast as Maysilee Donner in the upcoming adaptation of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The casting announcement comes just a day after Joseph Zada was cast as Haymitch Abernathy. That announcement also came with the casting of Whitney Peak as Lenore Dove Baird. Maysilee, in the Hunger Games prequel released last month, is one of the other tributes from District 12 opposite Haymitch Abernathy for the 50th Hunger Games or the Second Quarter Quell.
In addition to being a female tribute from District 12 in the Second Quell, Maysilee is also a twin to her sister Merrilee. The pair lived above a sweet shop with their parents in District 12. The Tribeca Film Fest 2025, presented by Okx, announced its short film lineup today, which includes narrative, animation, documentary shorts as well as music videos. Among them is the world premiere of Kid Cudi’s “Neverland,“ featuring an impressive cast & crew.
The eleven-minute horror-centric music video follows “a 200 year old vampire takes his newly initiated love on her first feed.”
“Neverland” stars performer Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi), Kiernan Shipka, Brittany Snow (X), Haley Joel Osment, Cary Elwes (Saw), and Brandon Scott (Descendent). That’s one hell of a lineup and marks the on-screen reunion between Mescudi and Snow, his X co-star.
The X connections don’t stop there, either; “Neverland” is helmed by director Ti West, who co-wrote the script for the music video with Mescudi. As if the horror pedigree isn’t already impressive enough, the music video was produced by Monkeypaw Productions, with Jordan Peele serving as executive producer.

There’s a famous incident where television host James Lipton shocked Steven Spielberg by suggesting that the musical communication in the director’s 1977 classic Close Encounters of the Third Kind was actually a reference to Spielberg’s father having been a computer scientist attempting to reach out to his concert pianist wife. Flabbergasted, Spielberg thanked Lipton for this incredibly personal insight after revealing that he only realized the connection once it was pointed out to him.
I was reminded of this story after reading an interview where Osgood ‘Oz’ Perkins opened up about his complicated family history and how it informed his 2025 adaptation of Stephen King’s The Monkey. Contrary to Spielberg, Perkins seems well aware of the personal issues that color his work, but looking back on his older projects, I soon realized that many of the ideas influencing in his recent output were already present in his filmography...

HBO's TV adaptation of "The Last of Us" has brought in a ton of new talent for its sophomore season, many of whom are portraying characters from the second video game in the series, "The Last of Us Part II." Anyone who's played the game will be familiar with Nora, a key part of Abby's crew, former Firefly, and member of the Washington Liberation Front. The character was voiced by Chelsea Tavares in the game, who you may also recognize from her role as Patience Robinson on "All American."
Nora is back in the "Last of Us" TV series, played this time by Tati Gabrielle, a rising star who already has some major TV credits to her name. She's also something of a regular for Naughty Dog, the game developer responsible for the "Last of Us" games. Timothée Chalamet has become a very big deal over the last decade or so. With two Academy Award nominations and an ever-expanding list of excellent movies under his belt, the actor has flaunted his talent in a vast array of roles that range from playing Bob Dylan in "A Complete Unknown" (2024) to starring as Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" movies and following Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp in portraying eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka in "Wonka" (2023). That's a lot, especially from a young actor who seems destined to turn in great roles for many decades to come.
Any one of Chalamet's best movies is a great way for a movie fan to spend a couple of hours glued to their seat. However, few prolific actors can maintain a perfect win record throughout their career, and even one as wildly successful as Chalamet has a few less than beloved films in his CV.

For the vast majority of their existence, A24 has been a distributor of motion pictures. That means they find movies that other people have already made, and they manage the film's release. In recent years, they've moved into the production side, but for the most part "A24 movies" are simply movies that fit the distributor's brand identity.
That's totally fine, as far as it goes. Like a popstar who doesn't write their own material but has an incredible ear for a hit, there's a certain artistry to curation, too. Thanks to the kinds of films they have released, A24 has developed a following like we haven't seen since the early days of the studio system, when people were fans of, say, "MGM musicals" or "gangster pictures made by Warners." Horror fans love A24, and with good reason: They consistently put out some of the best horror movies on the market.

Exclusive: Gerardo Celasco and Marta Milans join Peacock’s upcoming South Florida-set crime thriller M.I.A. from Ozark co-creator Bill Dubuque.
They join the series regular cast led by Shannon Gisela, who plays ‘Etta Tiger Jonze,’ Brittany Adebumola, as ‘Lovely,’ and Dylan Jackson as ‘Stanley.’ Maurice Compte, Danay Garcia and Cary Elwes are also series regulars, though their characters’ names, like Celasco and Milans’, have yet to be revealed.
Running drugs is a family affair for Etta Tiger Jonze (Gisela) in M.I.A. But when the family business is threatened, she is thrust into a life she never expected, forcing her to use her wits to survive as she navigates Miami’s criminal underground.
Mia is the airport code for Miami. The SoFla area consists of Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties.
The series comes from studio MRC (Poker Face), with Karen Campbell serving as executive producer and showrunner. Alethea Jones will direct and executive produce. Dubuque will write Episode 101 and executive produce alongside Campbell and Jones, who will also direct.
M.I.A. is the latest series to explore SoFla’s seedy underbelly including Chris Brancato’s Hotel Cocaine—based on Compte’s father’s life— for MGM+ and two Netflix series: the Sofia Vergara-led Griselda and the early seasons of Narcos focused on Pablo Escobar, both with executive producers including Eric Newman, Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard. Narcos was co-created by Brancato. Showtime’s original Dexter series was also famously set in Miami, and its Paramount+ with Showtime prequel spinoff series Dexter: Original Sin.
Celasco is a Salvadoran actor, born in Miami and raised in El Salvador, who has called Los Angeles home since 2005. He made his TV debut with a lead role on the NBC Daytime show Passions, which he followed with various film and TV roles, including Moneyball, Battleship, the Fox series Bones and Person of Interest for CBS.
Celasco was the male lead on the Netflix limited series National Parks for ABC, with guest arcs in Good Sam for CBS and ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder. He also played the male lead of Roku’s Swimming With Sharks opposite Diane Kruger and Kiernan Shipka. He will next be seen in Netflix’s The Waterfront and Carlton Cuse’s Pulse for Peacock. He is repped by Entertainment 360, The Gersh Agency and Goodman Genow Schenkman.
Milans starred in Warner Brother’s “Shazam!” franchise and Netflix’s hit original series White Lines from the Emmy award winner producer Álex Pina. Additionally, she starred in Pina’s Spanish television series The Pier and the Netflix Spain series The Minions of Midas, directed by Academy Award winner Mateo Gil. She is repped by Jwm Entertainment Group, The Kohner Agency, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

After the third season of HBO's critically acclaimed series "Industry" wrapped up at the end of September 2024, Harry Lawtey's character Robert Spearing was in a sort of bleak place. We now know that Robert — and, obviously by extension, Lawtey — won't be returning for the show's fourth season, which just recently began filming in the United Kingdom. Aside from "Industry," you may have seen Lawtey as Harvey Dent in the underwhelming 2024 sequel "Joker: Folie á Deux."
So why? In an interview with The Telegraph, "scheduling conflicts" were mentioned, but Lawtey seems at peace with it all. "Ultimately I feel like I'm in a place where I've said everything I had to say with a character, and I think both me and the writers felt mutually happy with where we left him," Lawtey said. "There was actually a stage direction after my final line, in my final scene of the show,...

After swirling through the box office and making an impact, Twisters spins its way onto a new streaming service. The long-awaited sequel to the award-winning original, Twister, debuts on Amazon Prime Video and finds instant success on the popular streamer.
Twisters debuted via Prime Video on Mar. 18, nearly eight months after its theatrical debut, and is already the top-ranked movie on the platform. The disaster film sequel's Prime Video success adds to its streaming prowess on Peacock, where it debuted last November and outperformed the Oscar-winning Oppenheimer with its early returns.
Coming nearly three decades after the Oscar-nominated Twister, Twisters is a standalone sequel to the original, not carrying over characters or storylines from the first film, though it maintains the movie's spirit. The film sees Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones) return to storm chasing after a tragic event from her days as a meteorology student, looking to track a tornado...

Coming up on two years since the period crime drama Snowfall wrapped its six-season run, FX has ordered a pilot for a spinoff that’s been in development since March 2023.
Snowfall, which debuted in July 2017 and starred Damson Idris, was touted as the story of “how crack began.” Over the course of six seasons, the series chronicled how an off-the-books CIA operation contributed to the destruction that rock cocaine leveled upon the vibrant community of 1990s South Central L.A.
