How Is Tomorrowland 2026 Connected To Money Heist? (Photo Credit – Netflix)

Thailand’s Chonburi has been making waves since it was announced as the home to Tomorrowland’s 2026 set. This would be the first time the Edm music festival skipped its home base in Belgium and branched out to a different venue. But, there is more to Chonburi than Tomorrowland to its credit.

This Thai destination was home to Netflix’s hit series Money Heist for a brief period of time as well. According to Klook Travel, Thailand Film Office’s official records states that Season 3 of Money Heist featured a key scene shot at the Sanctuary of Truth, a landmark wooden structure located in Pattaya, Chon Buri.

'G.I. Joe' Star Henry Golding Is Open for Snake Eyes Return in 'Transformers' Crossover
Image
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins star Henry Golding is open to returning for the planned crossover between G.I. Joe and Transformers, but the signs aren't looking very promising so far. Golding played the character of Snake Eyes in the 2021 G.I. Joe spin-off origin film that was intended to reboot the franchise. The ending of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which revealed that G.I. Joe existed in the same universe, implied that the rebooted G.I. Joe film was intended to align with the newly rebooted live-action Transformers continuity.

Speaking with Comic Book, Henry Golding discussed the possibility of reprising his role as Snake Eyes in the planned crossover film between Hasbro's two biggest franchises, which Chris Hemsworth will reportedly lead. Golding, at the moment, thinks that Paramount Pictures might feature a different take on G.I. Joe, possibly the team from the original duology of films, but he would love to return in some capacity.

‘Kill the Jockey’ Review: Luis Ortega’s Surreal Picaresque About a Man’s Shifting Identity
Image
Holed up in an attempt to go cold turkey before a crucial race, once-renowned jockey Remo (Nahuel Pérez Biscayart) asks his pregnant partner and fellow jockey Abril (Úrsula Corberó), “What can I do to make you love me again?” To which she replies, “Die and be reborn.” Accordingly, director Luis Ortega sets out with Kill the Jockey to tell a prototypical sports-movie comeback story, albeit through far from conventional means.

Set in Buenos Aires, the film is a sports movie in the same way that Alejandro Jodorowsky’s El Topo is a western. It could just as easily be shelved under crime drama, rock mockumentary, or ghost story. While Ortega’s style doesn’t quite transcend the influence of filmmakers such as Lynch, Godard, Fellini, and Almodóvar, it melds them with surprising assurance. Kill the Jockey’s originality consists not just in taking the clichéd metaphor of rebirth literally, but...

Netflix Taps Expósito, Morte and Corberó for Next Wave of Spanish Originals
Ted Sarandos
Netflix marked its first decade in Spain with a red-carpet gala at Madrid’s Galería de Cristal on 10 June, where co-ceo Ted Sarandos pledged to invest more than €1 billion in local production between 2025 and 2028. The celebration also unveiled a new slate built around three of the country’s most recognisable faces.

Ester Expósito headlines Polo Menárguez’s psychological drama El Talento, shot last autumn in the Basque Country and set for a 5 September theatrical bow before streaming on Netflix. Adapted from Arthur Schnitzler’s novella Fräulein Else, the film casts Expósito as a prodigy forced into a harrowing moral bargain, positioning the Élite alum for her highest-profile cinema role to date.

Álvaro Morte confirmed on Rtve’s Late Xou that he will lead Dos Tumbas, an eight-episode thriller written by the Carmen Mola collective and directed by Kike Maíllo, centred on the disappearance of two teenagers and driven by a grandmother-detective played by Kiti Mánver.

Netflix Spain at 10: Having Changed the Global Perception of Spanish Content, Netflix Ups the Ante on Investment, Ambition
Image
How is Netflix celebrating its 10th anniversary in Spain? By turning up the heat in investment ambition and production values.

On June 10, Ted Sarandos, Netflix co-ceo, announced in a wide-ranging if brief speech at a Madrid press presentation that the U.S. streamer will invest over €1 billion ($1.14 billion) in Spain over 2025-28.

That figure is a shade up on Mexico, where Netflix pledged this February $1 billion for series and films over 2025-28. Pointedly, the commitment ranks on a broad par with France, where investment in French series, movies and documentaries now stands at an annual €250 million ($285.1 million), Netflix VP of content in France, Pauline Dauvin, said in April.

Also, on June 10, Netflix held a party to celebrate its first 10 years in Spain, closing off central Madrid from its Plaza de Cibeles to Puerta de Alcalá – which is rather like closing Paris’ Champs d’Elysées – to roll out a 500-yard carpet...

New US Trailer for 'Kill the Jockey' Featuring Nahuel Pérez Biscayart
Image
"He was a good boy..." Music Box has revealed an official US trailer for Kill the Jockey, the Argentinian film starring Nahuel Pérez Biscayart as a rogue horse racing jockey who goes on the run. Thi premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival last year, and also played at the Toronto, San Sebastian, Viennale, Tokyo, and Stockholm Festivals. It's a gem! One of my favorites from last year – an especially clever, perfectly shot fable with an unforgettable lead performance. Spanish-Argentina actor Nahuel Pérez Biscayart stars as Remo, the on-the-run jockey at the center of this cinematic tale of a man in the midst of transition. Remo's self-destructive behavior and alcoholism overshadows his talent. Abril, an upcoming jockey is pregnant by Remo and has to decide between child or continuing to race. They both race for Sirena, a businessman who saved Remo's life in the past. Also starring Úrsula Corberó, Daniel Giménez Cacho,...

How ‘The Day of the Jackal’ producers unlocked their contemporary adaptation of the spy thriller
Image
Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant had long wanted to adapt Frederick Forsyth's 1971 novel The Day of the Jackal, which had already been turned into a 1973 film directed by Fred Zinneman and starring Edward Fox. But they had always tabled the discussion because "I don't think think the film can be bettered," Neame tells Gold Derby.

"Several rounds we just said, 'No, we're not gonna do anything with this. We're not gonna pursue it,'" he continues.

But the producing duo could never forget about it and eventually found a way to put their own spin on the spy thriller: by bringing the cat-and-mouse chase into the 21st century as a 10-episode TV series to delve deeper into the psyche of the titular assassin.

And it worked. The Day of the Jackal has been a hit for Peacock and Sky and was renewed for a second season before the first one ended.

The Day of the Jackal became one of the most-watched series from Sky Atlantic, with a record 3 million views in the first week in November. The show packed some great action and a strong performance from Eddie Redmayne. While the show is based on Frederick Forsyth’s The Day of the Jackal, many elements were changed to suit the TV series’ format.

The Day of the Jackal Season 2: Release Date, Plot, and All You Need to Know

This is not the first time a bestselling book has been turned into a series. Just look at Jack Reacher, based on Lee Child’s successful novel saga—what started out as an ex-marine fictional story turned into one of the biggest hits on Prime Video. The book series already had a lot of fans, and when it was made for the screen, there was a massive increase in fans for the hunk’s thrilling story.

The show proved that turning an already great book into a series can bring new-age fans to the existing work, which was starting to die off. Similarly, Frederick Forsyth’s The Day of the Jackal has now found a new generation of fans, proving that a thrilling spy story will always spark interest despite time and age.

[This story contains major spoilers from the finale of The Day of the Jackal.]

Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne says he was initially reluctant to join The Day of the Jackal when he was first approached.

But he was sold once he realized that Peacock and Sky had modernized Fred Zinnemann’s classic 1973 big screen adaptation. “I read the first episode or two of this series and I found it so propulsive and compelling and the character so enigmatic, that I just wanted to know what happened next,” says Redmayne.

What’s more, the first season finale, which released on Thursday night, had an appealing surprise twist: Redmayne’s Jackal would kill Bianca Pullman (played by Lashana Lynch in...

‘The Day of the Jackal’ Director Sidesteps UnitedHealthcare CEO Murder Parallels, Breaks Down Decision to Kill Off [Spoiler]: ‘It’s About Growing the IP’

Spoiler Alert: This article contains major spoilers from the Season 1 finale of “The Day of the Jackal,” now streaming on Peacock and Now.

Despite some initial scepticism about rebooting a property as iconic as “The Day of the Jackal,” the ten-part series starring Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch has been a resounding success for Peacock in the U.S. and Sky in the U.K.

So much so a second season of the show, which is based on both Freddie Forsyth’s 1971 novel and the 1973 feature film adaptation starring Edward Fox, has already been greenlit.

In the season finale, the cat and mouse chase between the mysterious assassin the Jackal (Redmayne) and his nemesis, detective Bianca Pullman (Lynch) finally comes to a head as the duo meet face to face. Despite being cornered by Pullman and her colleague, in an almost anti-climactic moment the Jackal swiftly dispatches them both and moves onto his next mission,...

Why ‘Day of the Jackal’ Season Finale Delivered a Twist Ending for Eddie Redmayne’s Hitman Character
Image
[This story contains major spoilers from the Day of the Jackal season finale.]

When The Day of the Jackal executive producers Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant took on a TV remake of Frederick Forsyth’s 1971 historical novel, they had a dilemma.

Should they kill off the chameleon assassin played by Eddie Redmayne, as happened in the original 1973 movie? Or have him survive for a second season and another possible multiseason franchise?

As viewers saw during the Sky and Peacock series’ riveting two-episode finale (released on Thursday night), the Jackal — in a shock twist — survives the 10-episode first season, and it’s Bianca Pullman, Lashana Lynch’s MI6 agent who pursued Redmayne’s Jackal across Europe, who meets a grisly death in the end.

Of course, that’s a flip ending to Fred Zinnemann’s 1973 film adaptation where Lebel, the reluctant detective played by Michael Lonsdale, ultimately kills the Jackal just as the hired killer reloads his rifle for another shot. But saying goodbye...

The Day of the Jackal gets renewed for season 2 at Peacock
Image
The Day of the Jackal will see more days as The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Peacock has renewed the thriller for another season. Our Alex Maidy enjoyed the show as he said in his review, “This grounded, realistic thriller takes time to develop the protagonist and antagonist while leaving audiences wondering which side they trust and whether they should or should not. This is not a clean-cut espionage story or even an action-oriented tale. The Day of the Jackal is a worthy modernization of the classic novel and delivers two of the year’s better performances on film or the small screen.”

According to THR, “The series drew 3 million viewers in its first week on [U.K. broadcast] Sky Atlantic, the best series debut there in two years. On Peacock, the show ranked among the top five original streaming series in the U.S. for its opening weekend, based on preliminary Nielsen data.
