Classic Vietnam War Film ‘Hearts and Minds’ to Receive Cinema Eye Honors’ Legacy Award
Image
“Hearts and Minds,” the 1974 anti-war film that caused a furor at the Academy Awards when it won the Best Documentary Feature Oscar, has been named recipient of the 2025 Legacy Award at the Cinema Eye Honors.

The doc from director and producer Peter Davis and producer Bert Schneider was made in the final years of the Vietnam War, which it presented as an unwinnable and criminal enterprise by the United States.

“Peter Davis’ film debunked the lies surrounding the then-still ongoing Vietnam War,” Cinema Eye founding director Aj Schnack said in a Tuesday statement to TheWrap. “’Hearts and Minds’ stands as one of the greatest films about war in the history of film and reminds us that attacks on unarmed civilians are neither new nor acceptable. We are honored to celebrate this film and to present Peter Davis with our 2025 Legacy Award.”’

In response, Davis added, “The Legacy Award honoring my...

Drew Barrymore, Ke Huy Quan Reunite to Present Steven Spielberg With Time 100 Impact Award
Image
At the Time 100 Gala on Wednesday night, former child stars Ke Huy Quan and Drew Barrymore reunited after having not “seen each other in almost 40 years” to present Steven Spielberg with the event’s Impact Award.

“Steven introduced me to this world where his imagination lived and invited me in,” Quan said. “He showed me how much fun we can have when we let our creativity be our guide. My life has [been] made so much better because of him.”

In his acceptance speech, Spielberg reciprocated the affection he received from Quan and Barrymore.

“I have never been more proud in my working career than being able to find, in 1981, 6-year-old Drew Barrymore and, in early 1983, 11-year-old Ke,” the filmmaker said. “I was so lucky to find them both, and they have not changed in all those years.”

Along with Quan, Barrymore and Spielberg, the night’s honorees included Austin Butler,...

Jennifer Coolidge Reflects on Range of Honorees at Time 100 Gala: “Some of Our Work Is More Urgent Than Others'”
Image
The Time 100 list of the most influential people features everyone from Hollywood stars like Michael B. Jordan, Angela Bassett and Steven Spielberg to scientists like Peter Davis and Britney Schmidt and more.

That variety was also reflected in the guests for Wednesday night’s Time 100 celebration in New York, where host Jennifer Coolidge acknowledged the range of people in the room.

After listing off a few of the honorees and their accomplishments, including Davis and Schmidt, who are researching a melting Antarctic glacier; project manager Edward Reynolds, working to deflect asteroids; nuclear engineer Andrea Kritcher; Spielberg; “new Elvis” Austin Butler; and Doja Cat, Coolidge said, “some of our work here is more urgent than others’.”

As for herself, Coolidge, who also made the Time 100 list, poked fun at her White Lotus fate saying she (spoiler alert) “drowned on TV. It was prestige TV, you know, but still.”

And she encouraged...

Watch ‘Preppy Murder’ Outtake: Who Was the Real Jennifer Levin?
Robert Chambers in The Preppy Murder: Death in Central Park (2019)
When the body of 18-year-old Jennifer Levin was found in August 1986, her death instantly became tabloid fodder. She was young, attractive, and ran with a rich Manhattan crowd — not the kind of person who usually turned up dead in Central Park.

Yet when it was discovered that she died at the hands of Robert Chambers, an equally affluent young man, the narrative quickly changed, with the media questioning whether someone as cute as Chambers could really be responsible for such a horrendous crime.

He claimed that she was trying to initiate “rough sex,...
