Otis Davis(1932-2024)

He served for four years in the Air Force, then attended Los Angeles City College on the GI Bill, where he played basketball and worked as a janitor. At the University of Oregon, he played on the basketball team before devoting himself to track. Later in life, he was a teacher in Oregon and an athletic director at several U.S. military bases. In the 1990s, he settled in New Jersey and worked as a teacher, coach, truant officer and teen counselor.
