The Newport Beach Film Festival has added Irish Spotlight, a program that will showcase a small slate of Irish films. The fest will host North American Premieres of Blue Fiddle, Four Mothers and the docu Housewife of the Year. The evening will take place October 20 and include a celebration of Irish cinema, culture and cuisine.
The Irish Spotlight films will screen at Regal Edwards Big Newport and a post-screening celebration will occur at Muldoon’s Irish Pub.
Fidil Ghorm (Blue Fiddle), is directed by Anne McCabe and stars Ruadhán Ó Flatharta, Marcus Lamb, Sarah Jane Scott, Siobhan O’Kelly, Barry McGovern and Edith Lawlor. AMC+ and Sundance Now today announced a second season of the enchanting drama Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale, adapted from the novel by V.V. James. The six-episode second season of the Sundance Now Original series is scheduled to begin filming this month in Ireland and will debut in 2025.
The series premiered earlier this year exclusively on Sundance Now and AMC+ and was Sundance Now’s biggest series debut ever on both platforms. Season one is now available to stream in its entirety on applicable platforms in the U.S. and Canada.
Season two picks up a year after the traumatic events of season one. Sarah Fenn and her daughter Harper are in hiding in Scotland, concealing Harper’s extraordinary powers, but a dark cloud is descending as recent anti-witch legislation has increased hate crimes.
As Sarah worries worse is to come, she’s presented with a dramatic ultimatum – return to Sanctuary...

Marcus Lamb, who founded the Texas-based Christian television network Daystar, died on Tuesday from complications of the coronavirus. He was 64 and his death was confirmed by his wife, Joni Lamb, on a show they cohosted on the network.
Lamb was an outspoken critic of coronavirus vaccines and advised against inoculations. However, his wife said on a broadcast that he was taken to a hospital on Nov. 18 after contracting the virus.
Daystar Television Network was founded by the Lambs in 1997. Marcus Lamb was the network’s CEO and hosted his own show, as well as Ministry Now with his wife. His entire family appeared frequently on the network, which reportely reaches more than 108 million households.
Marcus Daron Lamb was born on Oct. 7, 1957, in Cordele, Ga., He became an evangelist at age 15, and later graduated from Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. Lamb founded the Word of God Fellowship in Macon in 1981, which grew into a traveling ministry.
