It’s almost time to get to know Nobody 2.
During its CinemaCon presentation at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon, Universal Pictures debuted a first look at the Bob Odenkirk-starrer from filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto (May the Devil Take You) and 87North.
The film finds the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul actor reprising his role as mild-mannered family man who is secretly a former government assassin. John Ortiz, Connie Nielsen, Sharon Stone, Christopher Lloyd and Colin Hanks round out the cast. The screenplay is by Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Umair Aleem and Odenkirk.
The footage, which kicked off with a voiceover announcement in the theater that Odenkirk is “back to kick ass and take more names,” and the scenes that played exclusively for the Colosseum showed him doing just that. It opens with Odenkirk’s character kicking a bunch of asses in an elevator while at a convention.

After the 2023 Hollywood writers and actors strikes and the budget crunch that followed, the industry shock that was felt throughout Los Angeles extended all the way to Canada — specifically Ontario and British Columbia — where the usual deluge of location shoots slowed to a trickle. The strikes triggered a 26 percent downturn in production spending in 2024 compared with 2023, leaving local soundstages dark and production crews idle.
Hopes for a quick recovery surged once the labor action was settled in late 2023 and Hollywood got back to work. As L.A. continues struggling to bounce back, the locations business in Canada is booming again, signaling a speedy rebound that few predicted.
“Despite all the uncertainty, it does seem to be ticking along very well at the moment,” says Karen Thorne-Stone, president and CEO of Ontario Creates, which markets the province to foreign producers. “Production levels are looking good for us. The rebound has been strong.

The highly anticipated sequel Nobody 2 will gun it to 88mph as we now have confirmed that Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd will return alongside Bob Odenkirk in the action outing. The exciting news comes courtesy of Deadline, who have revealed that Lloyd, best known for his role as Doc Brown in Robert Zemeckis iconic sci-fi adventure trilogy, will once again wield a giant shotgun and reprise the role of David Mansell.

As well as the lovably eccentric scientist, Lloyd is recognized for roles in the hit sitcom Taxi, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and as Uncle Fester in The Addams Family. The actor recently received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding...

Bob Odenkirk is ready to, as he puts it, “get his ass handed to him.” The Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul star is reteaming with Derek Kolstad, screenwriter on 2021’s Nobody, on a new action film, Normal, which is among the hottest projects being shopped to buyers at the European Film Market in chilly Berlin this week (by WME Independent).
Ben Wheatley (Meg 2: The Trench, Free Fire) is on board to direct the film, which will star Odenkirk as Ulysses, a temporary sheriff in the sleepy rust belt town of Normal who gets caught up in a deep criminal conspiracy. Kolstad, who also penned the John Wick franchise, will produce together with Odenkirk and Normal producer Marc Provissiero, with Josh Adler from Circle of Confusion as executive producer.
Nobody transformed Odenkirk into an unlikely action star, playing Hutch Mansell, a humdrum family man with a secret past as a professional assassin.

Bob Odenkirk’s career has taken a unique path. Although he started in the comedy world, he would take his already-acclaimed career to new heights when he played Saul Goodman on the immensely popular series, Breaking Bad. And while shows like that and Better Call Saul still played on his comedy strengths, Odenkirk would go for something different when he starred in the action film, Nobody, which came from the writer and stunt crew who brought us John Wick.
According to Deadline, Odenkirk is set to work with Nobody screenwriter Derek Kolstad again on a new project that is going to be helmed by Free Fire and High Rise director Ben Wheatley. The film is titled Normal and “follows Ulysses (Odenkirk), who is thrust into the temporary role of the sheriff for the small sleepy town Normal after the previous one’s untimely death. Bob Odenkirk is re-teaming with Nobody writer Derek Kolstad on Normal, a crime thriller in which the Better Call Saul star will again take on the unlikely role of action hero.
The film, for which WME Independent will launch sales at Berlin’s European Film Market next week, is the latest twist on the action genre from Kolstad, who also penned the John Wick franchise. Ben Wheatley (Meg 2: The Trench, Free Fire) is on board to direct.
The plot of Normal has Odenkirk playing Ulysses, a temporary sheriff — “the substitute teacher of the sheriff world,” says Kolstad — running away from the demons of his past, who has taken over in the sleepy town of Normal after the untimely death of the town’s original lawman. But when the town’s bank is robbed by outsiders, Ulysses uncovers a deep criminal conspiracy at the heart of Normal and realizes that everyone in town,...

The show followed Odenkirk's character, an unlikely chair of the English department at a badly underfunded school, as he copes with a midlife crisis and his wife questions her choices. Odenkirk's current 14-year run on AMC, thanks to his role as Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, comes to an end with the cancelation of Lucky Hank.
