For over 50 phenomenal years, Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone has been one of the cinema's most prominent movie stars, with the veteran actor having appeared in countless knockouts, including the enduring Rocky franchise, First Blood, Cliffhanger, The Suicide Squad, and The Expendables series (to name just a few in his ever-growing repertoire). At 78 years old, Stallone remains a force to be reckoned with on both the big and small screen and currently stars in the Taylor Sheridan-created crime drama Tulsa King while also appearing alongside Scott Eastwood in the newly released action thriller Alarum.

In the pulse-pounding flick, Stallone portrays a seasoned spy who is sent to hunt down a top-secret hard drive believed to be in the possession of rogue agents who ran off to be together in order to start a new life.

Alarum takes a promising cast and creates an unappealing spy movie that struggles to make sense of itself from one moment to the next. The action thriller genre doesn't require much to deliver a satisfying project. However, to make one that stands out, the movie must have some compelling action and a unique story. Alarum has neither.

Alarum, directed by Michael Polish, follows two rogue spies who have gone off-grid and married, triggering a global pursuit by international spy organizations. Set in a winter honeymoon cabin, they become targets as they are suspected of possessing a vital hard drive linked to the network known as Alarum.

With roles like Rocky Balboa and Rambo, Sylvester Stallone has received many accolades. Stallone is one of the most profitable action stars with many other critically acclaimed films, but his recent project was not as successful.

His new movie is Alarum, an action film directed by Michael Polish with a script by Alexander Vesha. Alarum follows two rogue spies who escaped to get married, but several intelligence agencies hunt them to find a stolen hard drive. The action film was released straight to VOD and has debuted with a rare rating on Rotten Tomatoes: an abysmal 0% out of 14 reviews. The audience score is not yet available, as there are less than 50 reviews at the time of publishing.

Alarum has earned a dismal Rotten Tomatoes score. The new action movie was directed by Michael Polish from a screenplay by Alexander Vesha. It follows a married couple who have escaped their lives as spies and who are being hunted in their isolated cabin by multiple agencies seeking a hard drive they stole, featuring a cast that includes Scott Eastwood, Willa Fitzgerald, Mike Colter, Ísis Valverde, D. W. Moffett, and Sylvester Stallone. The Alarum release is day-and-date, meaning that it is available in both limited theaters and on video on demand.

Rotten Tomatoes has now aggregated an official score for Alarum from 14 different critics' reviews. At the time of writing, the movie has earned a score of 0%, which is the lowest score available on the platform. One of the most claustrophobic movies to ever hit the big screen is about to hit the Brazilian small screen. David Fincher's 2002 thriller, Panic Room, is set to be remade in Brazil with a new cast, director, and an updated take for modern audiences.

Brazilian production company Floresta—which is owned by Sony Pictures Television—has announced the development of this remake as its first-ever telefilm (as reported by Variety). The Jodie Foster/Kristen Stewart-led film will find itself reborn under the direction of Gabriela Amaral Almeida, and will star popular Brazilian actress Isis Valverde. Earlier this month, we learned that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be giving David Fincher’s 2002 home invasion thriller Panic Room a 4K Uhd release in February – and now, Variety has revealed that the movie is also getting a remake next year! The Panic Room remake is a telefilm that’s coming our way from the Sony Pictures Television-owned Brazilian production company Floresta and sees Isis Valverde (Alarum) taking on the lead role, a character played by Jodie Foster in the original film.

Scripted by David Koepp, the original Panic Room has the following synopsis: Trapped in their New York brownstone’s panic room, a hidden chamber built as a sanctuary in the event of break-ins, newly divorced Meg Altman (Jodie Foster) and her daughter, Sarah (Kristen Stewart), play a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with three intruders—Burnham (Forest Whitaker), Raoul (Dwight Yoakam) and Junior (Jared Leto)—during a brutal home invasion.

While Sylvester Stallone is enjoying success on his show Tulsa King, he doesn’t stray too far from movies, but it’s looking more and more like his side hustle nowadays. Stallone was recently featured in Armor, which was a low-budget action thriller that primarily focused on a single location on a bridge. In his review, our Alex Maidy said Armor “is nowhere near mediocre due to formulaic action that cannot even muster enough energy to keep attention on screen.” Plus, there’s talk that Sly received a supposed $3.5 million for a single day’s work. Sylvester Stallone is one of the biggest action stars of all time. The actor reached stardom thanks to the Rocky and Rambo franchises, but he has played a series of other roles – mostly those of action heroes – and has had several successful projects aside from these two franchises, including the ongoing series Tulsa King.
