Sophia Bush's Grey's Anatomy Casting Can Make Up For Her Post-Chicago Pd Show Being Canceled After Just 1 Season
Image
Grey's Anatomy continues casting talented stars as Sophia Bush joins the ABC medical drama in season 21, and the actress' appearance will help redeem her former show's premature cancelation. Bush is most known for her role as Brooke Davis in One Tree Hill, a part she played in all nine seasons of the teen drama, from 2003 to 2012. However, Bush is also recognized for portraying Erin Lindsay in Chicago Pd two years after One Tree Hill's ending. Following her time on Chicago Pd, though, Bush was cast in another series, but it didn't experience the same success as her other projects.

Grey's Anatomy season 21 premiered on September 26, 2024, and ABC releases new episodes on Thursdays at 10 pm Et.

Nevertheless, Bush is still an accomplished actress, both on the small and big screen. Some of Bush's best movies include John Tucker Must Die and Pixar's Incredibles 2. Now, she is set to star in season 21 of Grey's Anatomy,...

Image
New Amsterdam‘s Ryan Eggold and Good Sam‘s Sophia Bush contributed their time and talents for a new “Stop the Bleed” PSA to help war victims in Ukraine.

Many Ukrainians don’t have access to the internet, so the goal of the Stop the Bleed campaign is to make sure the PSA spreads virally worldwide to reach as many civilians as possible with the lifesaving information. Co-stars of Eggold and Bush like Alejandro Hernandez, Conner Marx, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims and Sandra Mae Frank also helped with the PSA, which shares simple life-saving skills to stop deadly bleeding.

Both New Amsterdam and Good Sam are well known in the Ukraine. Good Sam showrunner Katie Wech and New Amsterdam showrunner David Schulner played a pivotal role in making the PSA a reality.

Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz may be best known respectively as Brooke Davis, Peyton Sawyer and Haley James Scott — but now, they’re on screen together once again in completely different roles. In their first TV collaboration since 2009, the former “One Tree Hill” costars appear on Wednesday’s episode of CBS’ “Good Sam.”

In the medical drama, led by Bush as Dr. Sam Griffith, Amy Taylor (Lenz) is admitted to the hospital with signs of premature heart disease, with her sister, Gretchen (Burton), at her side. Sam is Amy’s doctor.

“If you get lucky, there’s a couple of people on every job who you love. I feel really lucky to really love everyone on this show,” Bush tells Variety of her “Good Sam” costars. “We have a really special connection, and it was really special for my oldest and dearest family to come and meet my new family.

‘Good Sam’ Pits Sophia Bush and Jason Isaacs Against Each Other in Battle of Surgeon Egos: TV Review
Image
At the very least, Katie Wech’s “Good Sam” knows what you might be thinking when you hear it’s a show featuring a chronically cocky doctor with no respect for authority outside his own. Even after spending six months in a coma, Dr. Rob “Griff” Griffiths (Jason Isaacs) takes over a crucial diagnostic brainstorm session to suggest that their mystery patient is suffering from … lupus. For anyone even glancingly familiar with the long-running Fox drama “House,” which starred Hugh Laurie as a chronically cocky doctor whose favorite past time was rejecting lupus diagnoses, it does feel like a wink to the TV doctor who most clearly paved the way for Isaac’s Griff. The “Good Sam” twist on the classic doctor procedural recipe, though, is that Griff’s surgeon daughter (Sophia Bush) took over his post of chief while he was unconscious, and now that he’s back, the...

Both Good Sam and Smallwood were seen as frontrunners in their genre with Good Sam considered a solid medical drama for the network that has been looking for a curative franchise, and pro bowling comedy Smallwood was getting...
