The Spirit

From The Spirit to Suits: 7 Gabriel Macht Roles We All Love and Adore
Image
Suits never gets old—even though the show originally ended in 2019. The series keeps topping streaming charts, setting records, and reminding everyone just how good legal dramas can be.

At the center of all the hype? Gabriel Macht, the man behind Harvey Specter. With his sharp suits, smooth one-liners, and unmatched confidence, Harvey is the lawyer we all wish we had (and the boss most of us wouldn’t want).

His chemistry with Mike Ross, his complex romance with Donna, and his constant battle to stay on top made him one of TV’s most iconic characters. But Suits isn’t Macht’s only great role.

He’s been acting for decades, taking on everything from superheroes and spies to outlaws and struggling writers. He’s worked alongside Hollywood legends like Robert De Niro, Angelina Jolie, John Travolta, and Colin Farrell.

10 Comic Book Movies That Deserve A Remake
Image
In the era of superhero cinema, several movies from comic book movie history would benefit from a contemporary update. Comic book movies have become a powerhouse in the entertainment industry, especially with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe drawing audiences worldwide. However, not every comic book movie has enjoyed the same success or critical acclaim, and many adaptations from the past fall short of the compelling stories and visuals that modern adaptations offer.

While superhero stories dominate the landscape, comic book adaptations encompass a wide range of genres, from horror and fantasy to noir and pulp. This has led to a diverse range of movies that have not enjoyed the budgets of blockbuster superhero movies like Superman. Some movies, like the DCUs Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, are already set for a remake or reboot and thus wont be included here. Instead, this article looks at adaptations that deserve...

10 Original DC Heroes Who Needed To Be Replaced (& Who Took Over The Role)
Image
Since the very beginning, the DC Universe has made a name for its brilliant treatment of legacy characters, with the likes of The Flash and Green Lantern's rebooted heroes ushering in the Silver Age. Since then, it's become a normal occurrence to see iconic costumes and hero identities passed down to new generations in the aftermath of epic events and prominent deaths.

Contrary to expectations, many superhero mantles and identites have shared between numerous people at any given time. While some characters step in to fill the void left by a death, others have seized a vacant role for themselves. The response from readers to new characters taking up classic names can be mixed, but that only makes it more important to understand why these DC superheroes needed to be replaced, and who took up the title.

Why Frank Miller's The Spirit Is an Accidental Comedy
Image
The 2008 movie adaptation of The Spirit failed to capture the legacy of the comic strip it was based on. The Spirit was hurt by numerous creative choices that disserviced two of its major Hollywood stars. Both The Spirit actors later found success as major characters in the better-received Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has featured several major stars, with many of these big-name celebrities reaching the zenith of their popularity through the shared universe of movies. Though the MCU was a big break for stars such as Tom Holland, Iman Vellani and others, other actors were already familiar faces in Hollywood. This included the talents that portrayed Nick Fury and Black Widow in the MCU, with the two previously starring in one of the most widely panned -- and hilarious -- comic book movies.

The Spirit was a 2008 movie directed by comic book legend Frank Miller, with Gabriel Macht...
