Image
Kingsman: The Secret Servicestar Taron Egerton discusses his role in She Rides Shotgun.

Speaking toThe Hollywood Reporter, Egerton opened up about his work on She Rides Shotgunfrom director Nick Rowland. When asked if taking on his role in She Rides Shotgun was a response to anything else he had worked on around the same time, Egerton replied, "Not really. I'm just out here trying to make things that mean something to me, and I'm not really trying to second-guess the perception of them too much." Egerton added, "You just follow the thing that you're inclined towards creatively. So I try as far as possible to separate myself from the perception of why I’m doing what I’m doing and just do what I'm doing."

"There was something about the timelessness of [She Rides Shotgun] and the fact that, in some respects, it felt like a story from 30, 40, 50 years ago.

‘She Rides Shotgun’ Review: A Father-Daughter Relationship Put Through a Baffling Wringer
Image
Adapted from Jordan Harper’s 2017 novel of the same name, She Rides Shotgun starts out promisingly, with Nate McClusky (Taron Egerton) picking up his daughter, Polly (Ana Sophia Heger), from school. With his lithe, tattoo-covered body, the scowling skinhead makes for an imposing figure, and Polly doesn’t seem thrilled about being in his presence. It doesn’t help that the car he’s driving is obviously stolen, and she clearly doesn’t believe him when he tells her that her mother is just fine. We’re not sure that we should believe him either.

This opening stretch captures the characters of the book as well as the character of its setting. The Californian desert is shot to highlight the burn of its sun and the brutal beauty of its landscapes. It instantly feels like the place that would produce a man like Nate, who Egerton plays with a mixture...

By the time The Night Agent Season 2 had ended, Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) had saved the world, but it had come at a price. The sophomore season had not tied up all loose ends, there were unanswered questions and the show returning for another season provides an opportunity for answers. Production on Season 3 of The Night Agent began in late 2024 and carried on into much of 2025, and now it has been confirmed that production has finally wrapped. Season 1, which premiered in 2023, followed a low-level FBI Agent who finds himself at the center of a dangerous conspiracy while manning the phones during a night shift. Season 2 debuted earlier this year, proving to be a hit with critics with a score of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, fans can look forward to the release of The Night Agent Season 3.

The Night Agent season 3 just got a lot closer after latest filming update
Image
It's been a while since we had an update to share about The Night Agent season 3 as the upcoming season remained in production for much of the year, but we finally have some news directly from the creator himself. Peter Sutherland's next mission just got one step closer to hitting our screens as the third season officially hit the filming milestone that fans have been waiting for.

On July 14, The Night Agent creator Shawn Ryan revealed on social media that season has "officially wrapped production." Filming on the forthcoming third season began back in February 2025 before season 2 had even been released on Netflix. Alexi Hawley Reveals How 'The Night Agent' Affected 'The Recruit'
Image
The Recruit and The Night Agent are two action-packed Netflix shows that share many similarities in the themes they explore and their settings. The Recruit follows Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo), a CIA lawyer, while The Night Agent follows Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), an FBI agent. The shows were released around the same time and overlapped while in development to the point where The Recruit had to change its title. Other characters in the show regularly call Owen the Chaos Agent, and series creator Alexi Hawley revealed to Deadline that the show was to be called The Chaos Agent. However, with The Night Agent also coming up on the same streaming platform, there was a risk of confusing viewers, which could affect viewership. Here's what Hawley said:

“I mean, it’s a phrase I use, and it was actually one of the titles that got kicked around for Recruit way back in the day,...

‘Abbott Elementary’ bosses on subverting finale expectations, ‘the season of Ava,’ and their dream crossover
Image
Warning: The following story contains spoilers about the Season 4 finale of Abbott Elementary, "Please Touch Museum."

After doing a very pivotal party episode for its Season 3 finale last year, Abbott Elementary was back to its regularly scheduled field trip finale for the Season 4 closer. Wednesday's episode took the teachers and students to Philadelphia's Please Touch Museum, where the show actually filmed.

"We knew we were going to do a field-trip episode. We knew we were going to go to Philly again," co-showrunner and executive producer Patrick Schumacker tells Gold Derby. "We've only done that one other time in Season 2. This time we were going to do it for multiple days and we were gonna fly out, like, 60 people from the cast and crew and writers and to be out there. So, you know, big expense, that sort of thing. We blew it out at the end."

The finale doesn't have a game-changing moment like year's,...

The Night Agent Season 3: Everything We Know So Far
Image
Netflix has another hit on its hands with "The Night Agent," developed by "The Shield" creator Shawn Ryan and based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk. The series garnered attention as a political action thriller that follows low-level FBI agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), whose father was accused of treason, leading to poor Agent Sutherland getting treated as suspicious as well. Despite saving a number of people during a terrorist attack on the metro, he's assigned to the frustrating role of "Night Agent," watching over a phone in the basement of the White House that seems to never ring ... until one day it does.

The first two seasons followed Sutherland as he tried to discover the identity of a mole somewhere high up in the U.S. government, and though he managed to discover quite a bit of corruption, it also came at a serious cost.

Will There Be a Season 3 of ‘The Night Agent’?
Image
The Night Agentis one of Netflix's most popular action shows. The series has had two extremely successful seasons, with its debut season releasing in 2023. The first season performed so well that a follow-up season was confirmed a mere week after the release of Season 1. Now, Season 2, which was released only days ago, is already dominating Netflix's US charts. Given its success, it comes as no surprise that a third season of The Night Agent is also in the works.

In fact, the series' third season was confirmed prior to Season 2's release, clearly demonstrating Netflix's faith in The Night Agent. Led by Gabriel Basso in the titular role of FBI-agent-turned-Night-Agent Peter Sutherland, the series is packed with conspiracies involving the highest levels of government, explosive action and the most unexpected plot twists. Season 1 saw Peter rescue the President from an assassination attempt, while Season 2 took the agent into a global sphere.

Image
After a stellar second season and ending, The Night Agent season 3 is already in the works, but it might be missing one of the two main characters from the first season of the series.

Spoilers ahead for The Night Agent season 2 finale!

Here's what Buchanan told Deadline when she asked about possibily returning for season 3:

The Night Agent season 2 has officially been released on Netflix after almost two years since the breakout hit first premiered. Thankfully, after binge-watching all 10 episodes, you don't have to worry about the action thriller not coming back for another season. Netflix has already renewed The Night Agent season 3, and there's lot more exciting news about the next season.

In the second season, Peter returns as a full-fledged Night Agent embarking on his first real mission. From there, the season explores a larger conspiracy that poses a major threat to American intelligence.

The Night Agent season 2 cameo from a beloved season 1 star you probably missed

Gabriel Basso and Luciane Buchanan are back in The Night Agent season 2, which just premiered on Netflix on Jan. 23. And, after their characters, Peter Sutherland and Rose Larkin, saved the day in the jaw-dropping finale in The Night Agent season 1, there aren't many cast members or characters from season 1 who return for season 2.

By my unofficial count, there are only four characters who appear in season 1 and season 2: Peter, Rose, and President Michelle Travers (Kari Matchett), and one other important character that you might not have recognized.

‘The Night Agent’ Season 2 Releases Surprise Trailer
Image
During the Ravens vs. Texans NFL game on Christmas Day, fans got a surprise treat — the trailer for The Night Agent Season 2. After the massive success of Season 1, it looks like Peter Sutherland’s (played by Gabriel Basso) journey is far from over.

In the new season, Peter has moved up from his previous basement job, where he watched a dormant phone. He’s now part of Night Action, an ultra-secretive government organization.

Season 1 saw Peter saving the President of the United States and tackling a major conspiracy. But in the new season, things are much darker. Peter’s investigation into a CIA leak has gone wrong, and it’s clear that he can trust no one — not even Rose (Luciane Buchanan), his ally from Season 1. The stakes are even higher now as Peter faces threats from all sides.

Before we continue with the story and the information we have...

‘The Night Agent’ Season 2 Trailer: Peter Trusts No One
Image
Viewers of the Ravens vs. Texans NFL game got a surprise on Christmas Day: A trailer for Netflix’s “The Night Agent” Season 2.

Gone are the tedious days of Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) sitting next to a dormant phone in the White House basement — and nigh is the day for Night Action now that he’s finally part of the ultra-confidential organization. After successfully saving the President of the United States in Season 1, Peter was tasked with investigating a leak in the C.I.A., but in the Season 2 trailer, his operation appears to have been compromised, and Peter trusts no one — not even Rose (Luciane Buchanan), and certainly not Night Action itself. Season 2 will pick up shortly after Season 1 and is based on the novel by Matthew Quirk.

“To see the tremendous reaction to the show has been a great joy and is a credit to our cast, our writers,...

‘The Night Agent’ Drops Season 2 Trailer During Netflix NFL Games
Image
Ring ring.

Night Agent is returning with season two and in the new trailer (below) that dropped on Christmas, Gabriel Basso‘s Peter Sutherland is on the run.

The Sony Pictures TV and Shawn Ryan conspiracy series that was a mega-hit for Netflix in 2023 returns after almost two years with season two on Jan. 23, 2025. Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent‘s first season centered on Peter as a low-level FBI agent answering overnight calls for the secretive White House organization called Night Action. His heroic efforts (he saved the president) earned him a promotion to Night Agent by the end of the season. But, as the trailer shows, a mission outside of Washington, D.C. now puts a target on his back once again.

The trailer for the 10-episode new season dropped — literally — during the NFL’s Ravens vs. Texans Christmas game that aired live on Netflix.

‘The Night Agent’ Adds David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison & Stephen Moyer As Season 3 Series Regulars
Image
Every season, Netflix’s hit action-thriller The Night Agent introduces a new story and new characters around title character Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), who has been accompanied so far by Luciane Buchanan’s Rose Larkin. Season 3 is shaping up to introduce the highest-profile new cast, with three new series regulars who have led their own shows, David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison and Stephen Moyer.

They join fellow new series regulars Genesis Rodriguez (Lioness), whose pending casting was revealed last month, and child actor Callum Vinson (Chucky). Additionally, Suraj Sharma (How I Met Your Father) has been tapped as recurring.

Per usual, no details are being revealed about the characters. I hear Lyons will play a former spy lured out of retirement, Morrison will play the First Lady, Moyer will play a top hitman; and Rodriguez will play a reporter.

Season 3 has begun a production unit in Istanbul and will return to...

Sorry HBO, Dan Harmon and Channel 101 Already Did A Yacht Rock ‘Documentary’
Image
On November 29th, HBO will release its documentary about the late 1970s to early 1980s soft rock wave that is now colloquially known as “yacht rock” as if the guys who invented the term didn’t already nail the untold story.

In Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary, HBO will continue its Music Box Film series with an examination of an oft-mocked but still beloved era of music history, complete with profiles of yacht rock legends such as Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Christopher Cross and, of course, Steely Dan. Over the last few years, these artists have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity as a new generation of listeners continue to fall in love with the smooth, soulful, jazzy fusion of rock and roll and other predominantly Black genres played by white guys with flowing hair and bushy beards kissed by an ocean breeze.

With Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary, HBO hopes to examine...

Michael McDonald and Friends Take Us to a Better, Smoother Time in Trailer for HBO’s Yacht Rock Documentary | Video
Image
As music critic and writer Steve Huey once explained, “from 1976 to 1984, the radio airwaves were dominated by really smooth music.” Once known as soft rock, since the mid-2000s pretty much everyone has called it Yacht Rock.

We’re talking of course about the music of people like Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan, Toto, Christopher Cross — pop songwriters at the intersection of soul, jazz and disco who were defiantly uncool for their day but are now recognized as the legends they are. And as an early Christmas president, HBO is giving people a crash course via “Yacht Rock: A Documentary,” which debuts Nov. 29.

Directed by Garret Price, the film features commentary from legends like McDonald, Loggins, Cross and more, plus some of the people they influenced — like Thundercat, Mac DeMarco and Questlove.

And as you can see in the trailer, thankfully it also finally...
